With our target secured, I decided to head back to the Lorenzo family first.
Questioning Dave could wait until later.
The thought of our wedding night held far more appeal than dealing with that piece of trash right now.
Plus, I'd told Phoebe's uncles this was official business, but we'd ended up getting married instead.
We needed to face them and explain.
Sure, Dale and Julian had given me their blessing, but there's a difference between accepting me and finding out I'd secretly married their niece behind their backs.
"Getting late, darling. Ready to head home?"
I'd kept a firm grip on Phoebe's hand ever since Dave hit the ground, terrified she might casually put another bullet in him.
