Phoebe's POV
Standing close by, Winslow watched as I obediently slipped my hand into Harold's palm, putting on my most delicate expression that practically screamed, "I'm terrified, absolutely petrified." His expression changed rapidly. First amused, then even more amused, and finally completely stunned.
Winslow barely kept his shocked look under control. He forced himself to stay calm and trailed behind us as we headed out.
I could practically hear his thoughts—he couldn't believe he'd come rushing over just because I made one phone call. He'd abandoned some long-legged beauty who was waiting to be swept off her feet, only to show up and witness this sickeningly sweet public display.
I clearly had someone as powerful as Harold backing me up, yet I'd still dragged him away from his little piece of heaven to handle this mess. The whole situation must have seemed bizarre to him.
Our relationship had obviously moved way beyond what he'd expected. We were even holding hands now.
