Veronica's POV
Alonzo froze in the doorway, his face cycling through shock, rage, and something that looked like recognition. I could practically see the gears turning in his head as he processed finding me here.
His expression twisted with disbelief. The way he stared at me brought back memories of our last encounter - clearly he hadn't forgotten how that went down either.
Arya, Liana, and their little entourage pushed past Alonzo into the room, stopping dead when they spotted me.
"Veronica! What are you doing here?" Liana's voice cracked with disbelief.
I could see the wheels spinning behind her eyes, probably convinced I'd somehow orchestrated this just to ruin her night. That woman always thought the world revolved around her petty drama.
Leonardo had stepped out to take a call, leaving me alone to deal with this circus.
I kept my voice flat and cold. "Last I checked, this wasn't your personal property. So why shouldn't I be here?"
