Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Orphanage

Chishimo returned home, and it was already dark.

"I'm home!" Chishimo took off his shoes and placed them neatly by the door.

At this moment, his grandmother was serving the prepared dishes onto the table, and seeing Chishimo enter, she immediately smiled and said, "Chishimo is back, come and eat!"

Chishimo responded and strode over.

"Oh, that child Obito came looking for you this morning, saying he wanted to celebrate you becoming Genin together, but unfortunately, you weren't here." His grandmother kindly gave Chishimo a piece of food.

Chishimo ate heartily, replying in a muffled voice, "I ran into him later, but I had already eaten at my teacher's house by then, so I didn't go."

"Is that so? Obito is also a good child; you should get along well with him!"

"Don't worry, Grandma, I will!"

After eating his fill, Chishimo returned to his room, eager to test out the Medical Ninjutsu he had just learned.

He took out a Kunai and made a small cut on the back of his hand, then formed the hand seals for Healing Hands Technique. A faint green light appeared in Chishimo's hand.

Chishimo brought the light close to the wound on the back of his hand, feeling a slight itch at the wound, which then began to slowly heal.

It took a full fifteen minutes for the wound to completely heal. Although the Chakra consumed was not much, the time it took was too long, leaving Chishimo unsatisfied.

Chishimo sighed, it seems Medical Ninjutsu is not simple at all!

To become a well-rounded Ninja, there is still a long way to go!

But despite his sigh, Chishimo was not discouraged. With the experience from the first time, he began the second, then the third...

In the days following his successful graduation exam, Chishimo's life became regular again.

He trained in the mornings, sometimes even guiding Uchiha Itachi; in the afternoons, Chishimo would immerse himself in the Konoha Hospital library, and if he had the chance to meet Yakushi Nono, he would discuss some problems with her.

"Um, Sister Nakamura, is Sister Yakushi in the hospital?" Chishimo poked his head out of the library and looked at Nakamura by the door.

Nakamura thought for a moment, then shook her head, "I haven't seen her all day today, she probably didn't come. Is there something you need her for?"

"Yes, I have some Jutsu-related questions I want to ask her!" Chishimo was a bit disappointed, then a gleam flashed in his eyes again, "Do you think she might be at the orphanage?"

Nakamura touched the corner of her mouth, "Very likely."

Chishimo nodded, said nothing more, and began to ponder.

According to the original work, during the Third Great Ninja War, Yakushi Kabuto would come to Yakushi Nono's orphanage and begin his difficult life. He just didn't know if he had arrived during this time period.

He could go to the orphanage to check and discuss issues with Yakushi Nono at the same time.

Having made up his mind, Chishimo put the book in his hand back in its place and pushed the door open, exiting the library.

"Leaving already?"

Chishimo nodded, "I want to go see Sister Yakushi's orphanage!"

"Then be sure to say hello to her and the children for me!" Nakamura smiled slightly. It seemed she was a frequent visitor to the orphanage.

"I will." Chishimo smiled and waved his hand.

After leaving the hospital, Chishimo did not go directly to the orphanage but instead browsed the streets. After all, when visiting someone, he should bring something; going empty-handed would be inappropriate.

After much deliberation, Chishimo finally stopped in front of a pastry shop.

Half an hour later, Chishimo finally arrived at the orphanage located on the outskirts of the Village.

The orphanage was not very large, consisting of only one rather big building. Looking through the windows upstairs, the rooms, though simply decorated, were quite clean, suggesting they were cleaned daily.

In the yard in front of the building, a slightly plump middle-aged woman was leading a dozen children in play.

Since the middle-aged woman had her back to the orphanage gate, she did not notice Chishimo's arrival. Instead, one child blinked his big eyes, fluttering them as he stared intently at Chishimo.

"Auntie, look, someone's here!" The child pointed his small finger at Chishimo's location.

The woman, who hadn't noticed Chishimo, and the group of children immediately followed the finger and saw Chishimo.

Seeing that the newcomer was a young boy, the middle-aged woman was clearly taken aback. She stepped forward and asked, "Little friend, what are you doing here? Go home quickly, this isn't a place for you."

"Hello, Auntie, I'm here to see Sister Yakushi!" Chishimo replied very politely.

"Here to see the director?" Although the middle-aged woman was puzzled, she still chose to report it. "Then please wait here for a moment, I'll go get the director."

"Okay."

With that, the middle-aged woman turned around, greeted the children, and hurried away.

The child who had first spotted Chishimo came over, showing no fear, but rather some excitement. He tugged at Chishimo's sleeve and said, "Hey, big brother, what are you here for? Are you an orphan too, coming to our orphanage?"

With the first child leading the way, a crowd of other children gathered around.

Although Chishimo was currently a child himself, the children in the orphanage were generally only four or five years old, so Chishimo still stood out like a crane among chickens in the center.

Chishimo kindly patted the boy's head and gently said, "Big brother is also an orphan, but big brother won't live in the orphanage. I came this time to visit you all."

Saying this, Chishimo raised his hand and shook the large bag of pastries he was holding.

Upon seeing the pastries, the children immediately turned into greedy cats, their eyes shining as they stared at Chishimo's hand, drooling profusely.

"Don't rush, don't rush, there's enough for everyone!" Chishimo maintained order while distributing the pastries in his hand.

Soon after, the middle-aged woman returned with Yakushi Nono. Behind them followed a somewhat timid white-haired boy.

Yakushi Nono watched Chishimo interacting with the children, a smile appearing on her face. "Chishimo, how do you have time to visit the orphanage?"

Chishimo heard the voice and finally shifted his gaze from the ravenously eating children.

"Isn't it to see Sister Yakushi!" Chishimo smiled, "And to discuss some issues."

Yakushi Nono gave Chishimo an exasperated look, probably thinking that asking questions was the main reason.

"You two talk, I'll go take care of the children." The middle-aged woman wisely walked away, but she did not take the white-haired boy behind her.

Realizing his thoughts had been seen through, Chishimo gave an awkward smile and shifted his gaze to the white-haired boy Yakushi Nono was holding.

Although he had some suspicions, to be safe, Chishimo still pretended not to know and asked, "Who is this child?"

"Oh, him!" Yakushi Nono also looked at the boy, with a loving expression. "This child is an orphan we adopted not long ago. I was just giving him a physical examination!"

The white-haired boy noticed both their gazes converging on him and involuntarily tensed up, nervously squeezing himself further behind Yakushi Nono.

"Don't mind him, children who just arrive here are all like this, shy."

Chishimo nodded, indicating understanding.

Just arrived at the orphanage, white hair—this child is very likely Yakushi Kabuto. It really is a case of coming at the right time.

Chishimo picked up the remaining pastries in his hand and squatted down in front of the boy.

At this moment, the boy was looking at the approaching Chishimo with a terrified expression, his small hands gripping Yakushi Nono's skirt tightly.

"Don't be afraid, I'll treat you to some pastries!" Saying this, Chishimo held out the pastries in his hand to the boy.

Looking at the tempting pastries in front of him, the boy's eyes lit up, and he unconsciously swallowed, but he still didn't take them, instead casting a hesitant glance at Yakushi Nono.

Yakushi Nono smiled and nodded, and only then did the boy take the pastries and begin to devour them.
