Spoke to the professor, everyone was filled with shock as the professor and soldiers all ran down the valley in search of you. Not to forget, William was also there.
Nancy blush smiling. "I told you, Tina, that guy likes you, but you always deny it. You should have seen him."
Tina on a contrary immediately frowned. "Can you just forget about your personal thoughts and tell me what happened?" she was getting agitated with her smile and excitement.
"Okay, okay, I'll tell you. Simply put, he was the one who found you and conducted CPR on you before the ambulance arrived."
That's it, right?"
Tina looked at her, feeling like she was hiding something from her. "Okay, just one more thing. I saw it, but I didn't think your mom noticed it. William kissed you down the valley, but that came after you opened your eyes. I guess he was just so overwhelmed."
"What? He kissed me?" Tina asked, shocked. "How is it that he kissed me?" her eyes widen in shock
and Nancy raise her hands above her head in defence
"I don't know why he did that, but your mom was there, and she saw it. Yesterday, she asked me about it and who he was to you, but I said nothing because I didn't know anything."
Tina felt grateful but, at the same time, angry. "Why would he take advantage of me in front of my mom? That's disrespectful."
"But Tinaaaa," Nancy called, sensing she was upset. "If you ask me, I think William likes you. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in support of what he did because it was wrong, but I think he likes you."
"Like me?"
"Yes, don't you see it? You think a man like Mr. William would spend his time running after a university student?"
"I don't know what's gotten into you, Nancy. You know this man is the devil himself. You know all I went through working as an intern in his company. He was so cruel. What kind of insults did he throw at me? And now he's here claiming to be an angel?"
"Hmm, I remember, and I understand what you mean. It was just an assumption. Honestly, I think you should ask him and make things clear to him, if that will help."
Tina raised her head, dropping the book she was reading on her thigh after hearing a knock at the door. "Come in," she said, thinking it was one of the doctors coming to inform her about her lab results, but surprisingly, William walked in, closing the door behind him.
Tina dropped her head, trying to keep her anger under control. She had to admit his sense of dressing was 100% perfect—always looking neat, from his haircut to his shoes, dressed in a black suit, always looking confident and professional.
It had been a long time since she had seen his handsome face. This was the person she had dreamed of working with all her life. She wanted to work at his company, hoping he would notice her one day and maybe like her. But the reality was a bitter pill to swallow, as William had become her nightmare and the reason for her tears. She couldn't imagine how he went from being a crush to her enemy.
"I'm happy you're awake. How do you feel?" he asked, taking a seat opposite her bed. But as usual, she rolled her eyes in response, placing her book under her pillow.
"Mr. William, I'm fine. Thanks for asking, for checking up, and most importantly, for saving my life. I really appreciate it."
Several people could understand her facial expressions. She was upset and did not want to see him, but she was thanking him to get rid of his presence. "It's nothing. I will do that repeatedly if it guarantees your safety and security." The door suddenly opened, and both turned toward it. It was Tina's mom. She was back, but upon seeing them, she apologized and excused herself.
Tina shook her head in frustration, trying to call her mother back, but the door was already closed. Her mom had closed the door, as if interrupting them. Tina turned to William, her agitation now more evident. She had tried to pretend, but she couldn't pretend anymore. "Back to us, why would you decide to save me repeatedly? Last I checked, we aren't close."
William, who looked upset, remained more relaxed as he sat in his seat.
"We are friends," he replied simply, looking at her. "I asked you to be my friend a month ago."
"And I said no. I told you I don't want to have any association with you. You've done more than enough for me. I don't want us to see each other anymore. All you cause me is pain. At first, I admired you so much that I wanted to be close to you, but if that closeness only brings pain, then I don't want it. Let us not see each other again." William's eyes were cold as he turned his face away.
"I've brought more pain than good to you?" he simply said, nodding his head. "I'll take my leave now. I just wanted to make sure you're okay." After taking a few steps toward the door, he was about to leave when Tina raised her head, remembering something.
"Why did you kiss me? You have a girlfriend, so why take advantage of my unconscious state knowing i'm too young for that?" William turned back to her, looking into her eyes, but she turned her face away from him.
"You're eight years older than me. You're the CEO of a big company. You have a girlfriend, so why kiss a university student who is struggling to build a reputation for herself? I don't want my image to be tarnished," she said, her voice faint, tears in her eyes. "If you keep coming here, you're endangering my life. I thought I was going to die when I fell down that valley, simply because Lilian thought I was in a relationship with you and felt jealous."
"Lilian is just my coursemate, and she has this jealousy toward me when I barely even know you. First, it was your secretary, then your fiancé, and now my course-mate . I don't want my mom to lose me. I'm the only thing she has left. I don't want people misinterpreting this friendship you're offering me." William stood motionless, understanding her worries. he turn looking at her. There was a long silence with him just staring at her sincere tired eyes.
"First, I don't have a girlfriend or a fiancé. I'm very much single. As for your coursemate, I don't even know her or how she looks, but I will certainly look into it. And lastly, my company has policies and regulations that apply to all staff, including me. If you say you weren't treated fairly while working with
us, then I'll look into that as well."
Tina nodded her head. "And why did you kiss me? I respect you enough to think you stood so low to kiss someone like me. I am still a minor." she said wiping her tears. there was no way she was letting him go yet.
William smiled, walking over and sitting close to her bed again. He took a seat near her, still smiling. "A minor is someone under 18 years old, and you're 23, so I don't understand what you mean by being a minor."
"I'm 23 years old. I'm still young," she argued defensively.
"And I'm 31. Does that mean I'm old?" he asked, his face filled with disbelief.
"I didn't say you're old. Besides, your age is not my problem. You and your age have nothing to do with me. I'm just concerned about my first kiss. "
"What about it?" he asked, still smiling.
