Chapter 15 - Don't Come Looking for Me If You're Not Divorced

Director Fang Ping accompanied Liu Rumei to introduce her to each office. Along the way, Fang Ping explained the functions of each department and the staff situation, while Liu Rumei listened carefully, nodding occasionally to show her understanding.

"This is our finance department, responsible for all financial management and budget preparation," Fang Ping said, pointing to an office area.

Liu Rumei walked in with a smile, shaking hands and greeting each employee. Her smile was warm and sincere, immediately bridging the distance with everyone.

When they arrived at Sun Zhewen's desk, Liu Rumei frowned slightly, then turned to Fang Ping and asked, "Do we only have one male colleague in our office?"

Fang Ping was a little embarrassed, but still answered truthfully, "Yes, Chairwoman Liu, we only have Sun Zhewen here, but he is still very excellent."

"Oh, I see, let's go," Liu Rumei nodded and continued walking forward.

Sun Zhewen couldn't help but feel a little uneasy, wondering what kind of person this new leader was. He secretly glanced at Liu Rumei, muttering in his heart, Anyway, I shouldn't be able to get past her Dharma Eye, after all, there's only one Chen Qingyan. But who knows whose connections this Liu Rumei has, she doesn't seem much older than me, yet she can be the Chairwoman of the Women's Federation.

Liu Rumei felt the probing eyes behind her, secretly amused, but remained composed. She knew that as a new leader, she had to win the trust and respect of her subordinates in the shortest amount of time.

"Director Fang, where are we going next?" Liu Rumei asked.

"Chairwoman Liu, we're going to the conference room. There are some work arrangements for you to review," Fang Ping replied.

Sun Zhewen was buried in documents in his office, his brow furrowed, but his heart was still restless. He picked up his phone, hesitated for a moment, and finally sent Chen Qingyan a WeChat message: "Qingyan, your cousin saw us yesterday."

Chen Qingyan replied quickly, with a hint of disdain in her tone: "So what if she saw us? She's trying to seduce my husband!"

Sun Zhewen sighed helplessly and continued typing on his phone: "I don't think she did it willingly."

Chen Qingyan's reply was just as swift: "Hmm, what do you mean?"

Sun Zhewen took a deep breath, trying to explain in a calm tone: "What she said was even darker than we imagined. I asked her to help us, but she refused. She only said she could help us go abroad, nothing else."

Chen Qingyan's tone became even colder: "If she doesn't want to, then forget it. You can divorce her. I'll talk to her later."

Sun Zhewen frowned, trying to reason with her. "Qingyan, don't throw a tantrum. She might be innocent."

Chen Qingyan's reply was full of anger. "Zhewen, whose side are you on? Do you really think she's your wife?"

Sun Zhewen felt a headache coming on, trying to stay calm. "No, Qingyan, don't be angry. Let's keep things separate. At least she didn't tell Secretary Liu about us. And I think she has concerns, though I don't know what they are. But I think we should start with her; she definitely knows more than we do."

Chen Qingyan's reply was still firm. "Zhewen, I don't want to see her again, and I won't ask her for any help. We're enemies from now on."

Sun Zhewen sighed helplessly, trying to persuade her again. "Qingyan, can you just calm down?"

Chen Qingyan's reply was merciless. "Zhewen, either side with me and divorce her, or go find her."

Sun Zhewen felt powerless and finally sent a message. "Qingyan, please think about it again."

The phone screen flashed, and then Qingyan's reply came. "I'm not considering it. You consider it carefully. Don't come looking for me if you're not divorced."

Sun Zhewen sighed helplessly, thinking: This Qingyan's temper is really stubborn. He tapped on the keyboard, defeated: "No, Qingyan, just relying on the two of us... You haven't gone to Chengguan Town yet, and I have no position or authority right now. What do we do?"

Qingyan's reply was almost instantaneous: "I don't say things twice. You figure it out."

Sun Zhewen's heart clenched, feeling as if he was pushed to the edge of a cliff. He tried to send another message: "Qingyan, let's discuss this properly." But after sending this message, a red exclamation mark appeared on his phone screen, indicating that the message had not been delivered.

He rubbed his temples in frustration, muttering to himself: This Qingyan just can't calm down when it comes to her cousin. What am I going to do? Really get a divorce? Li Zhiyan's smiling face flashed in his mind, and he felt a wave of conflict. Divorce wasn't a big deal, but it would be difficult to find Li Zhiyan again later. But if he didn't divorce, Qingyan definitely wouldn't care about him. Headache.

He finally sent a message to Li Zhiyan: "President Li, I think we should go through with the divorce. I don't feel comfortable with this."

However, Li Zhiyan seemed to be busy and hadn't replied. Sun Zhewen stared at his phone screen, feeling increasingly anxious. At this moment, the office door was gently pushed open, and Fang Ping walked in, whispering to him: "Xiao Sun, will Chairman Chen transfer you?"

Sun Zhewen whispered: "No."

Fang Ping frowned, seemingly worried: "Chairman Liu called you over. I don't think she seems very satisfied with you. I don't know why. You should be careful. I think you should go see Chairman Chen and try to get out of here."

Sun Zhewen nodded gratefully, "Thank you, Director Fang. I don't know if I can do it."

Fang Ping sighed, "Alright, go ahead. Be careful, and don't say the wrong thing."

Sun Zhewen smiled slightly, "Okay, I'll go now."

He felt a bit puzzled. He didn't seem to have ever met Liu Rumei. Why would she have a prejudice against him? It would be difficult for him to transfer now. Qingyan was pressuring him to divorce Li Zhiyan, but he wasn't sure what Li Zhiyan's attitude was either. Sun Zhewen shook his head, his mind in a complete mess, like a tangled ball of yarn.

He walked to the door of the chairman's office, took a deep breath, knocked, and said calmly, "Chairman Liu, it's Sun Zhewen."

"Come in." A cold voice came from inside.

Sun Zhewen pushed open the door. As Fang Ping had said, Liu Rumei was indeed hunched over, making notes. Her desk was piled high with files, appearing busy but organized. Without raising her head, she said, "Sit."
