Chapter 199 - Chapter 199: Run Okarun Run!

[Third Person Pov]

"Did it just die?" Ken Takakura asked as they watched Geryuganshoop get squished beneath the falling rubble.

There was suddenly an explosion of psychic energy. Pieces of stone and metal shot outward in every direction, only to freeze mid-air a moment later, suspended like a constellation of debris.

"It's going to take a lot more than that just to kill me!!" Geryuganshoop screeched. The rubble around them began to rise as well, joining the other pieces already hanging in the air.

"You just had to ask," Momo said, staring at him with a perfectly straight face.

"I'm sorry! I wanted to know!" Ken said, looking apologetically.

"Now I, Geryuganshoop, the Supreme Telekinetic in the universe, will grind you to blood sausages!!" he shouted as the debris in the air began to spin faster and faster, picking up speed.

"I can't just keep protecting you forever. You need to pull your own weight," Momo said. She extended her hand toward him and loosened the hold of the curse on Okarun.

Ken stood ready as he let the transformation take place. His hair turned pure white, a red line passed over both eyes, and a large mouth mask formed over his jaws.

"I don't think I could get used to the sudden depression-yo…"

"Telekinetic Shower of Rubble!" Geryuganshoop exclaimed. Debris shot outward like guided missiles.

Ken vanished from where he stood, already running at super speed. Krypto met the incoming projectiles head-on, destroying them with precise, searing beams of heat vision.

Momo began to levitate, mimicking Geryuganshoop's technique. She waved her hands through the air, tracking the flying debris not with her eyes but with her other senses. Control came quickly. Soon she was manipulating the rubble just as the alien in front of her was.

"Okarun!" Momo shouted, forming a rising path of rubble that led straight toward Geryuganshoop.

Ken understood instantly. He used the floating debris as platforms, appearing in front of the octopus alien in the blink of an eye. He drove a sharp hook kick into Geryuganshoop's face. The impact caved it in slightly and sent the alien flying backward, crashing hard against the far wall. Before Okarun could fall, Momo caught him and set him gently on the ground.

"Arghhh!" Geryuganshoop roared in pure annoyance. He seized control of every piece of rubble in the entire room, even tearing more from the interior of the ship itself.

Momo refused to yield. She fought for control of the same debris, and the battle became a raw tug-of-war of psychic energy.

The room was bathed in overlapping waves of green and purple light, the air around them shimmering and shifting like the northern lights.

"Woah… that is cool-yo," Okarun muttered in awe.

The rubble trapped between them cracked and splintered, ground down to nothing but fine grains of sand under the pressure of the two opposing forces.

Krypto howled and charged in, blasting Geryuganshoop with a concentrated beam of heat vision that sent the alien flying once more and shattered the stalemate. The Super-Dog followed up immediately, releasing a blast of arctic breath that froze the psychic alien solid from head to tentacle tip against the wall.

It didn't last as long as any of them expected. Cracks raced across the ice statue before it erupted into sharp shards.

"Psychic Gravitational Wave!!" Geryuganshoop bellowed as sections of his tentacles suddenly flared with bright, pulsing colors.

Gravity slammed down on them without warning, crushing them toward the floor. Momo and Okarun were flattened against the ground, groaning under the sudden weight. Krypto remained upright through sheer force of will, growling as heat began to flare along his eyes.

Geryuganshoop focused the bulk of his power on Krypto. The ground beneath the Super-Dog fractured and split apart under the crushing weight, spiderweb cracks racing outward in every direction.

"O-Okarun…" Momo called out, one trembling hand outstretched toward him. She poured more of her strength into shielding him, making certain that between the two of them he would be the one most likely to survive the pressure.

"The pressure is getting weaker… is this your doing, Momo?" he asked in his new, strangely nonchalant tone as he forced himself back to his feet and looked over at her.

"Yeah… now start running and don't you dare stop…" Momo strained to say through clenched teeth.

"Impossible!" Geryuganshoop shouted. "No one should be resisting my gravitational waves! Much less a weak creature from this backwater planet!"

"Yo!" Okarun called to him. His face carried such a terrifying intensity that, for just a moment, even Geryuganshoop felt a cold shiver race down his spine. "You're hurting my girl. That's not something I can forgive you for… even if you're an alien."

"Who the heck is your girl?!" Momo shouted in pure embarrassment. "Stop saying such embarrassing things! Don't you have any shame?!"

Ken paid her words no mind. He dropped into a low running stance and exploded forward, instantly becoming nothing more than a green-and-white blur of motion.

"Worm! I'll do more than just hurt her! I'll kill her—but don't worry, you'll be joining her right after!" Geryuganshoop snarled, using another tentacle to rip massive chunks of the ceiling free and send them plummeting downward.

Ken gritted his teeth as he forced himself through the remaining gravity. His muscles burned and screamed in protest. Sweat poured down his face, yet the fierce intensity in his eyes never wavered.

Momo clenched her jaw and shoved herself up onto her feet. She dragged in a deep, shuddering breath and concentrated, weaving her psychic power into solid spiritual constructs. Springs, trampolines, spring-loaded platforms, and spectral hands bloomed into existence all around the chamber, each one designed to catch and fling the protective orb that still surrounded Okarun.

Okarun began ricocheting through the entire interior like a living pinball—wall to ceiling, ceiling to wall, gaining speed and momentum with every bounce.

Geryuganshoop struggled to keep track of the green blur. His eyes darted side to side at impossible speeds. "Stand still!"

"Momo," Krypto said as the Sunstone cape at his back began to shift and flow. Red crystalline sand streamed toward his mouth, hardening into a sword's pommel. The entire cape transformed into a massive blade that he flung toward her. "Send it to him!"

Momo seized the sword with her psychic power and hurled it through the air. "Okarun!! Catch!!"

Ken was already soaring between platforms when he saw the flaming sword streaking toward him. He stretched out one hand and snatched it cleanly from the air.

He kicked off the wall, then the ceiling directly above Geryuganshoop. The alien looked up just in time to see Ken launching himself downward, body spinning at terrifying speed. The blade ignited with a brilliant golden hue as Okarun transformed into a living, roaring fire-saw.

In one blinding motion it was over. Okarun stood on the ground once more, the tip of the sword resting against the floor as flames still crackled along its edge. He was breathing hard, steam rising in thick clouds from his shoulders. A single, perfectly carved path of the blade's passage scarred the ceiling, the wall, and the floor in one continuous line.

"It's… just… not… possible…" Geryuganshoop managed to rasp, a thin red line now running straight down the center of his body.

The place where he had been bisected erupted into fire. His two halves slid cleanly apart and collapsed. Only Okarun remained standing, glasses fogged, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath.
