Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Perfect Rejection

Four years had flown by in a blur of meetings, deals, and boardroom battles. Alexander Lionel Tennyson, now 18, had spent nearly every waking hour building Avalon Groups into one of the most formidable companies in the world—and universe. Even though his heart often longed for Gwen, the girl he had loved quietly for years, his responsibilities left little time for face-to-face encounters. Still, he made sure to call her once a week and chat every two days over his phone, keeping their bond alive from afar.

Today, however, was different. Today, Alex had made a decision he had been rehearsing for months. He had a diamond ring in his pocket and a perfectly tailored suit, ready to confess his feelings to Gwen in person.

Before leaving the villa, he felt the familiar presence of his family and closest allies. Gordon Tennyson, Betty Jean Tennyson, Joel Tennyson, Camille Mann, Maxwell Tennyson, Verdona, Grayfia Lucifuge, Venelana Bael, Albedo, Velgrynd, Velzard, and Lucy Mann had all gathered in his study, offering him their support.

"Good luck, Alex," Gordon said, ruffling his silver hair."You've got this, son," Betty Jean added, squeezing his shoulder.Joel, ever the protective brother, gave him a firm nod. "Bring her happiness, Alex, and be true to yourself."Even Verdona leaned in with a rare smile. "All the best, Alexander. She won't know what hit her."

Grayfia, Venelana, Albedo, Velgrynd, Velzard, and Lucy exchanged knowing glances, their silent support almost tangible. Alex smiled faintly, nodded, and left the villa.

The café near Gwen's house was quiet in the late afternoon. He spotted her instantly, her familiar smile brightening the room. Alex's heart quickened as he approached.

"Hi, Gwen," he greeted warmly.

"Hey, Alex," she replied, her voice calm but carrying an unspoken weight.

He slipped his hand into his pocket, fingers brushing the smooth surface of the ring. But before he could pull it out, Gwen's words struck him like lightning.

"Alex… I need to break up with you."

Time seemed to slow. His hand froze mid-motion. "Did… did I do something wrong?" he asked carefully, trying to keep his voice steady.

"You're… too perfect for me," Gwen admitted softly. "And… I'm in love with someone else."

"Is it… Kevin?" Alex asked quietly.

Gwen nodded.

Alex's lips pressed into a thin line, and he finally exhaled. "Good luck with your life," he said simply. Without waiting for a reply, he turned and left the café.

"Alex… we can still be friends," Gwen called after him.

He only nodded once, a faint, polite gesture, before disappearing from sight.

Back at the villa, the group awaited him anxiously. Verdona's voice broke the tense silence. "Did… she accept?"

Alex shook his head, the weight of disappointment pressing down on him. "She doesn't love me anymore."

Betty Jean immediately stepped forward, wrapping her arms around him. "Oh, Alex…"

For the second time in his life, Alex cried. The first had been the day he lost his father, Morax Nava. Now, his heart ached in a different, sharper way.

As Alex explained what had happened, those around him—Betty Jean, Camille, Verdona, Grayfia, Venelana, Albedo, Velgrynd, Velzard, and Lucy—felt a surge of anger. Gwen had rejected a man they all knew was extraordinary, someone who could have changed her life. Their emotions radiated, filling the villa with an invisible but undeniable aura of killing intent, shaking its walls ever so slightly.

No one dared speak further. They simply stared, burning with protective fury, while Alex quietly wiped his tears, the diamond ring still tucked safely in his pocket, a symbol of unspoken love and heartbreak.
