Chapter 4 - Chapter III

"Why don't you give up?"

"Your father has no chance here—the piles of evidence are… well, substantiated," she deliberately dragged the last part to annoy me.

"It won't work on me, bitch!" I hissed to myself.

"Get ready! You're going to regret this!" I muttered under my breath.

"And I don't think you'll be able to defend this, Ms. Claiden…," she added smugly.

I rolled my eyes at her. My blood was boiling from the audacity, but I needed to stay calm and control myself. I had to act, respond, and handle this professionally.

I couldn't hold back anymore. I firmly stood up and declared,

"Objection, Your Honor!"

My voice echoed through the courtroom. The judge, Atty. Wong, and even the jury were slightly taken aback. I locked eyes with Atty. Wong, who was fuming with anger.

"Yes, go ahead, Atty. Claiden," the judge said.

I held my head high and immediately fired back at Atty. Wong with questions that clearly surprised him.

"How can you be so sure, Atty. Wong?"

"Showing tons of evidence doesn't mean the court favors you. It's not enough to prove this man's guilty!"

I raised my voice slightly, lifting one eyebrow for emphasis.

"Can't you see there's something wrong with your evidence?"

"With all due respect, I believe your position is not supported by relevant legal precedents," I added firmly.
