Chapter 1 - The Lie That Loved

Chapter 1: " A Life Unforeseen"

Lily, a recent university graduate, had always cherished her weekends spent with her father, Henry, in their family's opulent mansion. Despite her busy schedule, she made it a point to spend quality time with him, and today was no exception.

As she knelt beside her father, in their backyard garden, the warm sunlight casting a golden glow over the vibrant flowers and lush greenery. They were planting a new batch of roses, and Lily was carefully placing the delicate roots into the soil, her hands moving with the precision of someone who had done this many times before.

Her father, with his worn gardening gloves and gentle smile, guided her hands, showing her the right way to plant the roses. The scent of blooming flowers and freshly turned soil filled the air, transporting Lily to a place of serenity and joy.

As they worked, they chatted about everything and nothing – favorite places, friends, and their favorite books. Lily's laughter echoed through the garden, mingling with the songs of the birds.

Her eyes sparkling with joy as she chatted with her father. As a single parent, he just wanted his daughter to live a happy and carefree life.

As his princess, Lily had always been shielded from the world's harsh realities. Her father's wealth and influence ensuring she wanted for nothing. He had always dreamed of giving her a life free from worries, where everyday was a celebration of love, happiness, and possibility.

And as Lily smiled at him, her face aglow with contentment, Henry felt his heart swell with pride and gratitude, knowing he had succeeded in giving her the perfect life or so he thought."

"Dad, why do you love gardening so much?" Lily asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Henry's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Because it reminds me of life's beauty and simplicity, sweetie. And I love sharing that with you."

Lily's heart swelled with love for her father. She felt grateful for these quiet moments they shared, just the two of them, surrounded by nature's beauty.

As they finished planting the last rose, Henry ruffled Lily's hair, his eyes shining with pride. "You're going to make a fantastic gardener one day, Lily."

Lily beamed, feeling happy and content in her father's presence. Little did she know, this ordinary Saturday morning would become a cherished memory, one she would hold onto in the days to come.

After a morning spent tending to the garden, Lily felt the warm sun on her skin and the gentle breeze rustling her hair. She stood up, brushing off the dirt from her hands, and smiled at the sight of the vibrant flowers and lush greenery. Her father, noticing her contented expression, suggested they head to the dining room for lunch.

As they walked into the dining room, Lily's stomach growled with anticipation. The clock on the wall read almost 2:00 p.m., and she realized she was famished. Her father, noticing her glance at the clock, chuckled and said, "I think we've worked up quite an appetite, haven't we?"

He led her to the table, where the chef had already set out a delectable spread. "Today, the chef has prepared your favorite meal," he announced, his eyes twinkling with pleasure.

Lily's face lit up, and she thanked her father, her voice filled with excitement. The chef, a kind-faced man with a warm smile, emerged from the kitchen to serve the food. As he placed the dishes on the table, the aroma of savory spices and herbs wafted through the air, making Lily's mouth water.

She took her seat, and her father sat down beside her. As they dug in, Lily closed her eyes, savoring the flavors. "Dad, it's really so delicious," she said, her eyes sparkling with delight.

Her father smiled, pleased that she was enjoying her meal. They chatted and laughed, enjoying each other's company. After lunch, they adjourned to the lounge, where they sat down on the plush couch. They had a good talk, discussing everything from Lily's gardening to her father's work.

As they sat together, Lily felt grateful for the quality time with her father. She loved these moments, where they could relax and be themselves around each other. Just as they were getting comfortable, Mr. Henry's phone rang. He excused himself, got up, and answered the call. Lily watched as his expression turned serious, his brow furrowing in concern.

After a brief conversation, he ended the call and turned to Lily. "I'm so sorry, sweetie, but I have some urgent work to attend to. I'll be back soon, okay?" he said, his voice apologetic.

Lily nodded, feeling a slight pang of disappointment. She watched as her father hurried out of the room, wondering what could be so important. As the minutes ticked by, she felt a growing sense of unease. She pushed the feeling aside, telling herself that her father would be fine, that he would be back soon.

But the anxiety lingered, gnawing at her insides. She tried to distract herself by flipping through a book or watching TV, but her mind kept wandering back to her father. Just as she was starting to relax, her phone buzzed, shrill in the silence.

She picked it up, her heart racing with a sense of foreboding. "Hello?" she said, her voice tentative.

The voice on the other end was somber, delivering news that would change everything. "Miss Lily, this is the hospital. There's been an accident.... your father is here, and we need you to come as soon as possible."

Lily's world came crashing down around her. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut, her breath knocked out of her. She listened numbly as the voice on the phone gave her instructions, her mind reeling with shock and worry. She had to get to the hospital, had to see her father. She quickly got up, her heart racing with fear and uncertainty.
