Chapter 75 - Morgan

A healing factor plus a vibranium body made Luke Cage even more of a damage sponge.

But that still wasn't enough. Being tough for the sake of being tough had no meaning, so Zod added one more thing: a super strength mutant gene.

That super strength gene was originally pretty ordinary. After awakening, it would probably only give a mutant around 1010 tons of strength.

But after Zod modified it, the super strength gene became extremely powerful, even though it didn't provide any extra defense.

After Luke Cage received the super strength gene, combined with his own mutation, his strength surpassed 100100 tons. He could go toe-to-toe with Red Hulk, the Hulk, and Super Abomination in a straight brawl.

The key point was that his body size wouldn't change much. And after turning into a vibranium body, he wouldn't become so heavy that it ruined his agility, because vibranium was lighter than most metals at the same volume.

"Zod."

Morgan quietly slipped over to find him.

"What is it?" Zod nodded and looked at her.

"Well… if I can't use soul magic anymore in the future, what will happen?"

Morgan knew she'd only gotten this far and managed to get involved with Zod Heath because of that accident and the soul magic issue. Otherwise, plenty of girls and women prettier than her would be desperate to connect themselves to Zod Heath in some way. So she'd been uneasy the whole time, with none of Quicksilver's carefree mindset.

"If you can't use soul magic, you can still learn other things to help me," Zod Heath said, seeing right through her unease. "Cell research, gene editing, high-energy physics, astrophysics, spatial physics, theoretical physics, energy physics, and so on. I'm seriously short on talent in these areas."

Compared to Quicksilver being brainless and Wanda being diligent and hardworking, Morgan seemed to have a shortcut mentality.

Jessica Campbell hadn't thought that far. Her whole family had suddenly been reduced to just her, and when she was completely lost, Zod Heath picked her up and brought her home. Now she studied hard too, hoping to change her fate through learning, unaware that she would soon become a fully nerfed female Superman.

Hearing all those terms made Morgan's head hurt, because she couldn't even understand half of them. Zod's private academy, however, offered every subject as long as you wanted to learn.

"I'll work hard," Morgan said, then fled like she was escaping.

Zod naturally understood what she was really thinking.

After running off, Morgan wandered the streets in a low mood. She was definitely thirsty for Zod Heath's looks and physique, but Zod Heath was a genius beyond the century. She probably wouldn't even have a common language with him, right?

I'm so stupid…

"Do you want to win his love?"

When Morgan reached a deserted place, a voice suddenly sounded beside her ear.

Morgan jumped. After the soul magic incident, she knew this world wasn't only science. There were also strange, supernatural things. She turned her head and realized that at some point, a blue-black shadow of light had followed behind her.

It was blurry, yet the moment she saw it, the image of it formed clearly in her mind.

A demon as tall as a mountain. Four horns on its head, like blue crystal gemstones. Its entire body was covered in scales, and judging by their size, a single scale was bigger than Morgan. Its face was hideous, matching exactly what Morgan imagined a devil should look like.

Morgan immediately tried to run, but her body went rigid on the spot.

"Don't be afraid, Morgan. I am your father!"

The thing said it directly.

That only made Morgan more frightened. Because the Ancient One, whom Zod Heath respected greatly, had said that one of Morgan's parents probably wasn't human, very likely the product of an invading Dimensional Demon God.

Morgan didn't know what a Dimensional Demon God was, but the name alone sounded like bad news.

At that moment, black-blue light surged before Morgan's eyes, forming an image of Zod Heath.

In the image, Zod Heath was training in the gravity room with his chest and abs exposed. Morgan's eyes widened instantly.

"Morgan, do you want to win his love?" the "father" slowly tempted her.

"Don't think you can seduce me!" Morgan swallowed with difficulty, then tried to turn her head away.

"No, Morgan. I am your father. I know everything you're thinking. I only want my little daughter to live a better life."

Morgan squeezed her eyes shut, putting on an I'm-not-listening face.

"Do you see her?" the Dimensional Demon God said unhurriedly. "His female secretary, that woman named Uld. She's much prettier than you, far more capable too. You can't compare to her at all. Are you really willing to let Zod Heath become entirely hers?"

As it spoke, it also showed Morgan an image of Uld. Uld was in the shower. Morgan stared at her and felt completely crushed, like she'd lost in every category from head to toe, with nothing she could fight back with.

"From what I know, Zod Heath likes mature women," the Dimensional Demon God continued. "How many more years do you plan to wait?"

Then it sensed the Ancient One beginning to pay attention to this area, and it retreated at once.

"I'll give you a few days. Think it over carefully, Morgan!"

Morgan gasped for breath, her whole body going limp on the ground. Only after a while did she manage to stand up.

She ran toward Blade Tech Industries, intending to tell Zod about the Dimensional Demon God coming to find her. But after she went upstairs, she saw Uld chatting with Zod.

She didn't know what they were talking about, but seeing Uld and Zod laughing together, Morgan's feet felt like they'd taken root. She couldn't move.

She… felt jealous.

A seed began to sprout. After sensing that its connection to Earth's dimension had deepened, the Dimensional Demon God revealed a satisfied smile.

Any negative emotion could be converted into negative energy and become nourishment for a Dimensional Demon God. And a human without negative emotions didn't exist.

Morgan didn't say anything about what she'd just encountered. She quietly left.

If I don't have power, I won't be able to get close to Zod Heath, right…

Wanda noticed her best friend's mood was off. It was obvious Morgan was troubled by something.

"Morgan, what's wrong?" Wanda asked with concern.

"I'm fine, Wanda." Morgan could tell Wanda truly cared. She smiled and shook her head.

She didn't want to drag Wanda into it. Wanda was such a good person.

"If something's going on, tell me. We're good friends, aren't we?" Wanda treasured all of this, including her two friends Morgan and Jessica.

"Don't worry," Morgan teased, forcing a lighter tone. "When the time comes, I'll annoy you to death."

At the same time, she made up her mind.
