Chapter 7 - War with the Beast men

The Ying tribe were monsters with half human half monster body features. After picturing them in his mind, Lucius almost laughed out loud. Imagining someone with a sheep head was indeed funny. But now was not the moment to laugh. The Goblins were really scared about their incoming war. Lucius placed his hand on the shoulder of the Goblin king and assured him of their safety.

That night after everyone had gone to bed, Lucius walked out of his building and continued further away from the goblin village. After standing for a couple of seconds, a young, hooded girl swiftly appeared in front of him.

"Amber?"

"Yes. It's just as you predicted, the divine sword Sigshesta is in the underground castle. However, it is protected by some serious ancient rune magic. If you want to attain the sword, then you'll have to first break the rune magic."

"Thank you, Amber. Did you draw the rune circle?"

"Yes." Amber nodded and handed over a piece of paper to Lucius. After staring at it for a while, he absorbed it into his space ring and turned his attention back to Amber.

After handing her six gold coins, Amber's serious mood transformed into a playful and excited one.

"You can take your rest now. You've done well."

Apart from the gold, Lucius's praise gave her the best feeling she had ever had in a long time. She bowed and walked into the village leaving Lucius standing still in thought.

By the time daylight had broken, a wonderful meal had already been prepared by the goblins for their guests. But before they could attempt their morning meal, a little goblin boy run into the camp, screaming with a very scared face.

"Everyone! Everyone! They're coming they're coming!"

Lucius rushed to him immediately.

"Who's coming?"

"The Ying tribe, and they're a lot."

After his words, panic began to spread out among all of them like wild fire. Fortunately, the village elders managed to salvage the situation and led them to their secret safety camp.

When the Ying tribe had arrived, Lucius summoned his famous sword 'storm breaker' into his hand. After gripping the hilt of the sword in reverse grip, he jumped before a hundred of half animal monsters and pinned his sword into the ground, instantly spreading a wave of powerful energy below their feet.

"Divine defense."

A giant magic wall suddenly began to elevate in front of their eyes until all the soldiers were trapped. Lucius let out a satisfied look after successfully trapping the Ying soldiers. This was one of the few skills he had managed to learn from the hero's journal.

After successfully subjugating the monsters, he finally gave the order to his trusted followers.

"Kill them all, but make sure to leave a few for questioning."

They all nodded and violently jumped into the barrier to begin doing their thing. Sir Criston and Ginny used their special skills to their advantage slaying whatever monster came their way. Thanks to Ginny's swift teleportation skill, the monsters around her continued to fall one after the other. On top of it all, Luna's magic support made everything easier.

The expression on the face of the goblins continued to build up with excitement and gratitude. If the same humans who had been terrorizing them for thousands of years had begun fighting alongside them, then a new dawn was really beginning.

But even though Luna and her friends fought valiantly, their incoming numbers proved otherwise. Finally, Lucius jumped into the field and instantly chopped away a head at the same time of his landing. And while stylishly swinging his blade, more monsters continued to drop down like flies until there were only fifty of them left.

…...

One of the soldiers who managed to escape after seeing the Hero's face returned to their leader with his face bowed down in great fear.

"Your majesty, the mission failed."

"What do you mean by failed? Are you telling me you failed to exterminate a few weak goblins?"

"It wasn't the goblins whom we fought against."

"What?! Who would dare to stand against me in this manner?"

"It was the dead hero." The young soldier responded still with his head bowed.

The king did not want to believe what he had just heard.

"The dead hero has come back to life?"

"Also…"

"What is it now?"

The King yelled out an angry tone at the soldier. When he looked at the King's face, he became even more scared to speak. After seeing how angry he had grown, he realized it would be far better to keep his head low.

"The princess and her companions were seized as prisoners of war."

"That good for nothing girl. There's nothing she's good at, she can't even handle a simple mission, now look what has transpired. All she had to do was silently sneak into their camp and plant the explosives. That girl would be responsible for her own fate. Send a message to the dead hero, tell him I would like to speak with him."

After receiving his order, the servant bowed and took his leave from their vicinity.
