Chapter 16 - Acceptance

"Are you..." A whisper barely audible lingered in his ears, his eyes heavy and breathing faint.

Savier did not know what had happened. The last thing he remembered was being out drinking with Sir Rylan. Wait, drinking?

A painful groan escaped his lips, which nearly sounded like a moan. Savier's brow furrowed at that. He forced himself to open his eyes, and he managed a squint.

At first, his vision was blurred, but it cleared as seconds passed. However, it made him frown harder.

Wait, am I dreaming?

Savier blinked and stared blankly above him. Suddenly, he felt his body on fire, like every cell in his body was alive. His breathing slowed down, and he could not help but gasp.

Someone was on top of him, sitting where a bulge was beginning to awaken.

"You're awake," a gentle voice whispered. Savier's eyes followed as the person licked his lips, moistening them. The flush in his cheeks was especially enchanting.

Savier swallowed and cursed, seeing such a seductive Sir Rylan!

Damn, it's now confirmed! He's dreaming.

And sure enough, before Sir Rylan managed to bend forward for their faces to connect, when they were only centimeters apart, Savier woke up.

Breathless and sweating, Savier opened his eyes and was greeted by the ceiling. He let himself recover from that dream and calm down.

Why did I realize immediately I was dreaming?

Savier... somehow regretted that. But soon he shook his head and slapped himself.

No! I can't just... no, even as a dream!

Feeling guilty as he had almost tainted the person in his dream, Savier decided to get up. But then a hiss was once again escaped from his lips, followed by a hard curse.

Fuck. Savier brushed his hair and bit his lips.

Yeah, of course, it was a damn wet dream.

Now, he truly needed to go to the bathroom and wash up to remove the evidence. Savier even had to sigh in relief after checking aside from his own underwear; nothing was amiss at the bed or mattress itself.

Savier looked at his face in the mirror after doing his tasks. He had only washed his face, and so it was still wet, and his hair was messy. He absolutely looked like shit.

He stared at himself for a few minutes absentmindedly.

Growing up, phrases like he was handsome and such were a normal occurrence. Savier's omega father was the most beautiful omega in the empire after all. And his alpha father was also not that different in the looks department.

Savier, being a dominant alpha, had grown used to people saying how he inherited his alpha father's features, and, scrutinizing himself, he knew that it was really the case.

His royal father was a respectable, dominant alpha, someone he also aspired to be since he was young. He cared for his mate so much that Savier swore to be like his royal father once he met someone he wanted to be with for the rest of his life.

Savier grew up in a loving family and only hoped to give the same experience to his future family. He would treat his omega and his future children right, swore to give them the world if he could.

However, as he grew up, Savier thought of his future family less and less. He also did not interact much with the other omegas of his age.

He was not interested, and no one forced him either. His parents were not fans of arranged marriages, and so even Arle was free to take it easy when it came to finding their mate.

Savier blinked, and the mist on the mirror accumulated, making the reflection a bit blurry. Strangely enough, it actually best described what he felt at this moment.

He was confused.

His future, which was always clear to him, suddenly looked too blurry for Savier was now afraid to think ahead of him.

He imagined himself with an omega, how it was supposed to be right. He was a dominant alpha; he needed an omega. That was how their physiology works. His pheromones would eventually seek an omega pheromone.

Just like how his parents and others experienced. Then why... why was Savier now imagining the scent of Sir Rylan's pheromones?

And that wet dream. Savier closed his eyes. After a second, he suddenly found himself wanting to laugh, and so he did.

This was ridiculous.

Savier brushed his hair slowly once more and did not leave his hand on his head. His whole being exuded confusion and, more so... fear.

It started again.

Savier did not know if running this time was even worth it. Or if... he ever could.

This was not the first time he had dreamed of Sir Rylan, both normal and... sensual. He still remembered his first wet dream and how frightened he was when he woke up that day.

The way it even alerted his parents, as he could not speak the whole day, his mind was only repeating what he saw in the dream. Savier never told them what was wrong, but he began to observe his surroundings more.

It completely shattered his worldview, and it made him question the world. How could he, a dominant alpha... possibly like an alpha?

Savier now admitted that not searching for everything related to Sir Rylan in the past few years was him running from this. Perhaps, he wanted to prove that all the things he knew were not wrong. And that, what he was feeling was merely brought by teenage hormones and infatuation with someone he admired.

He justified it all with that reasoning as he subtly buried all these emotions, even as a temporary measure.

And now, Savier stopped at the third step of the stairs, eyes landing on the person who had made him question everything he was taught in biology.

He was standing at the foot of the stairs, looking up and waiting. Slowly, as their eyes met, a gentle smile once more spread across those red lips.

Seeing that smile, Savier's body suddenly weakened, and his shoulders drooped, but he did not avert his gaze. His heart skipped a beat before it was now pounding so hard, he could even hear it clearly in his ears.

Savier stared for a few seconds, even a few minutes. He did not even know how long he only remained in his position. But the next thing he knew, he was already walking towards that person who had occupied his childhood until now.

Soon, he stopped right in front of the alpha and looked down on him.

"Sir Rylan," he called, tone especially hoarse and painful, but there was a tinge of defeat on it. Sir Rylan almost knitted his brow as he sensed something was wrong, but Savier quickly loosened the space between his brows.

Savier gave a sheepish smile, but his eyes carried his resolve.

"I lost but... I'm not mad."

I'm done running away; it's time to face it.

Finally, he realized his feelings. Savier accepted it.
