Chapter 5 - Hunger filling meal, future filling oath

When night came, all were gathered in one place for a meal, and that day's meal was a sore wolf the hunter had managed to catch, along with the meat of a dear sheep that had lost its life to the same wolf.

After waiting in line, Shengan received a tiny piece of meat, which he held in his hand. With it, he returned to his home. The home he referred to was just the sheep stall. Valeton appeared cruel and selfish, but he was kind enough to let Shengan sleep in the stall at night. In return, the man could be assured that someone was staying with the sheep for protection.

Biting down the piece of wolf meat, Shengan leaned on all of the sheep that had gone to sleep. The comfort of their wool reminded him of his previous life.

"But not as comfortable as my own luxury hybrid mattress," he whispered.

"What's a luxury hybrid mattress?" the voice in his head asked once again.

"You have been bothering me the whole day. Can't you disappear?" Shengan muttered while gazing at the stars appearing in the night sky.

"Thief! It's you who should disappear, not only did you steal my body, but you even lives my past. What kind of trickery did you use?" the voice exclaimed, straining with deep, halting anger.

"I told you more than once, I did not steal your body. I don't even know how I got here. Not only was I in a different place, now I even have a constantly yapping, annoying bug in my ears," Shengan showed his dissatisfaction.

The voice of the heavenly demon fell silent for a moment. Afterward, it rose again, but in a much calmer tone.

"The last thing you grabbed before our death… I think it's the angel of resetting."

Allen quietly listened to the voice. First of all, he had now come to terms that he was not in his home world. Instead, he had gone through something like those absurd scenarios in fantasy series—reincarnation, if not the transmigration of the soul to another world. After witnessing all of this new world he had never heard of or seen, and hearing all this talk of unknown mysterious stuff, he began to believe he really was in one of those fantasy worlds.

But being in a fantasy world didn't mean he would change; he would remain the same old selfish asshole who liked to boss others around. At present, however, he could do none of that. Gradually, he realized he would need to gain everything. And for that, he understood that unlike in his previous world, powers literally meant individual strength here—the magical things, or the so-called demigods this annoying voice kept talking about. Yet even when he inhabited—the unknown guy named Shengan's body he still clearly didn't know what the demigods meant. But he chose not to ask the voice in his head. Instead, he closed his eyes and delved into his memories.

The memories of his past life were the first to surface. But after a while, upon delving deeper, it was as if he had penetrated a shell, and he began to recall another set of memories—ones he was not even aware of himself.

The memories belonged to the voice in his head—the actual and true owner of this body. But aside from the memories of this fourteen-year-old life, there was another group of memories that spanned a long, deep stretch of years. These memories also belonged to the same man, but they were from the figure that had come from the future.

Within these memories were the original experiences the true Shengan had undergone all those years—until he became a heavenly demon and eventually died at the hands of the religious forces.

Delving into these memories, Allen gradually uncovered the answers to his questions. The so-called Damigod heart was actually an object that allowed a person to access the fabric of the from power very powerful figure that same core once belonged. The demigods were very powerful being that once existed in the past. Using a Demigod Core, a person could connect to these long dead Demigod and bond with them. There were countless demigod cores, each granting access to different demigods, all with unique abilities and powers. By using these powers, a living being could perform unimaginable feats with ease.

"It seems the demigods core is not a thing that apperd in physical world insted one had to first find a specific key to get access to the core before using it to summon a demigod"

"There seemed to be a ranking system for these Keys are cores, and the core I got seems to be a somewhat powerful one: the Fault core of resetting. According to the memory, it was related to the Time and can send its wielder back in time. What an incredible ability!"

Shengan opened his eyes. He could only concentrate and delve into the other person's memories for about ten or so minutes. Upon losing concentration, he would be exhausted and would have to take a rest. But the information he had retrieved gave him a basic idea of the powers that existed within this world.

"Listen to me, thief. Whether you're telling the truth or not, it doesn't change the fact that the two of us are imprisoned in my younger body. So, how about both of us coming to an agreement? Until the two of us can be free from this prison, let's work together."

"I, as the Heavenly Demon and original owner of this body, will guide you through everything you need to know. After all, we are in the past, and it would be hard for us to become strong quickly Without the knowledge I have about these items, if you act upon my instruction, we both could quickly be free. So, do you agree?"

Shengan did not hastily agree to the Heavenly Demon's proposal, but from his perspective, he could assume the other person was still unaware of him being able to pry into his memory.

However, overall, the proposition was not bad for him. He also wanted to quickly learn and build strength for himself, and needed to get rid of this annoying guy in his head. So, after a brief thought, he agreed.

"Okay, but I will ignore you if you say anything useless. Also, I have a few questions that I need to ask."

"Go on," the Heavenly Demon agreed without hesitation.

"First of all, the fault core of Resetting, what has happened to it and where can I get it?"
