Strange, strange, strange.
The Female Body Type monster widened her eyes and stared at the distant ground.
Reflected in her endless golden eyes was an unbreakable barrier.
It should have been shattered already.
During the first surprise attack, the emerald barrier had been torn to pieces by the firestorm. All that had changed was the addition of some white light, so why had it suddenly become so resilient?
She had clearly devoured more than enough Magic Stones. She had been casting Magic without any pause at all. So why were these people still standing?
Strange...
She had to be faster.
"Moan, mighty earth.."
The instant the rain of fire ended, the Female Body Type monster began chanting again.
A black magic circle spread beneath her enormous body, and pitch-black light surged upward.
"Rise, rise, rise. Husk of the earth. Sheen of iron. Hammer of the cosmos. May genesis's pact upheave rock and stone. The sky shall burn. The earth shall split. The bridge shall rise. Heaven and earth shall become one. May the axes of the ether rain down and bring about calamity's ruin…"
A long incantation.
There was no way the emerald barrier could keep up with this speed.
"In the name of the envoy, I command you. The name bestowed upon me is Gnome! Incarnate of the land! Queen of the earth!..."
It was weaker than the firestorm, but more than powerful enough to dispose of those standing in her way.
"Meteor Swarm."
The instant the incantation was completed, pitch-black light erupted violently.
A shower of black meteors came crashing down from the sky, unleashing a violent gale and deafening roars.
Yet on the trembling ground, an emerald barrier filled with white light unfolded.
Had they kept up?
No.
The black meteors slammed into the barrier and shattered it.
The barrier Magic that had already been chanted immediately followed.
Black starlight engulfed the light shield. With an explosive roar, the wall of light split in two, and the meteors, already weakened once, lost much of their original force.
But this was only the beginning of the Magic.
The remaining black starlight would sweep forward with the gale and crush everything in its path.
Yet that brief delay was enough.
The emerald barrier unfolded once more.
Every last black meteor was stopped.
Strange, strange, strange...
The Female Body Type monster shrieked in frustration.
Why wouldn't it break?!
So the Magic still wasn't powerful enough after all.
"Arise, flames."
The Female Body Type monster once again began chanting her most destructive ultra-long spell.
Since her birth, she had devoured more than enough Magic Stones, and her ability to absorb Magic Power far surpassed what it had once been.
That was right. There was no need to obsess over casting speed. Since that white light could keep up, she only had to keep casting the firestorm.
The Female Body Type monster was certain that in a pure contest of magical endurance, victory would unquestionably be hers.
She could reclaim the scattered Magic Power from the air.
Only a short time had passed, yet the black starlight that had just devastated the earth was already gathering back into the Female Body Type monster's body.
Chant, chant, chant.
Overwhelm the enemy with absolute firepower.
As long as that barrier remained, her opponents would never be able to hurt her.
"In the name of the envoy, I command you. The name bestowed upon me is Salamander. Incarnate of flame. Queen of flam... Guga?!!"
A golden spear shot through the gap between the enormous flower buds and pierced straight through the Female Body Type monster's head.
Boom.
The Magic whose incantation had just been completed was disrupted by the sudden attack, triggering an explosion of Magic Power.
Flames engulfed her entire body, but only moments later, her charred flesh had already returned to its original color.
Self-repair.
With such an enormous reserve of Magic Power, an injury this minor meant nothing.
But the enemy was different.
The Female Body Type monster snapped the spear and revealed a savage grin.
When the spear had been thrown, she had clearly seen the Pallum responsible for commanding the others enter a frenzied state.
The enemy must have realized that they were doomed to lose a battle of Magic Power, so he had abandoned his role as commander and decided to stake everything on one desperate charge.
That was right.
Come and attack her like that.
The Female Body Type monster opened her deep golden eyes wide and watched as the Adventurers, led by the Pallum, slaughtered the Violas and Virgas blocking their path and charged toward her.
"Pierce through, spear of thunder. I am your envoy, Tonitrus. Incarnate of thunder. Queen of thunder."
With the incantation completed at incredible speed, golden lightning began to gather within the enormous magic circle.
A short incantation.
This time, the emerald barrier could not possibly reach that far.
"Thunder Ray."
Lightning flashed.
Thunder roared.
An enormous spear of lightning hurtled toward the blonde girl charging at the very front.
Then the bell rang once more.
A pure white wall of light appeared before the blonde girl.
The light shield shone even brighter than the previous one. It had clearly been cast by someone else.
Blocked.
The impact erupted, and the lightning spear disappeared into the cloud of dust.
Strange, strange...
What exactly was that bell?
What was that white light?
The Female Body Type monster stared at the white-haired boy, her face twisting with rage.
He had separated from the group?
An opportunity!
She had to kill that hateful person first!
"Thunder Ray."
"Thunder Ray."
Two short incantations in rapid succession.
Lightning surged forward, blasting the Viola monsters in its path into black dust.
Just before the attacks struck the white-haired boy, the golden-haired elf completed her chant. Two light shields appeared one behind the other, blocking the attacks in front of him.
A deafening roar.
They canceled each other out.
Only then did the Female Body Type monster realize that she had been tricked!
Unlike her other Magic, the lightning spears were created in front of her body and swept through every monster along their path.
The enemy had noticed that and exploited her hatred, deliberately provoking her into firing off short incantations.
Damn it, damn it!
But it didn't matter.
There were still plenty of Viola and Virga monsters left. More than enough to delay them.
She still had her flower buds and tentacles as well. The enemy could never break through [that defense].
Besides, the trap had not even been triggered yet.
She had spent so long parasitizing the 59th Floor that she had already prepared an attack deadly enough to finish them off.
Ahh...
The one charging at the very front really was [Aria]!
Let me eat you?!
Aaaah...
Come a little closer!
The Female Body Type monster watched the charging blonde girl with excitement.
Before that slender sword, neither the Violas nor the Virgas stood any chance at all.
