Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Low-Level Pirates

"Ugh! That little girl is really unreasonable!" Roger wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, only to find blood flowing from his palm.

Looking down, he saw that the web between his thumb and forefinger had been split.

Rayleigh, who was beside him, also saw this but wasn't in a hurry to bandage his Captain. Instead, he teased Roger: "Hey, Captain, you're already injured. Weren't you quite impressive when you swung your sword just now? If you're not more careful, don't let those kids laugh at you later."

"What's a minor injury like this? More importantly, don't secretly drink all the liquor we're buying on Spring Island later." Roger casually picked up a strip of cloth, wrapped it around his hand, and considered the treatment complete.

The Oro Jackson soon approached the edge of Spring Island's port. This time, there were no attacks. Just before disembarking, Roger specifically said something!

"You all heard it just now, that little girl's warning. So, everyone, please don't cause any trouble this time."

Rayleigh took a few gulps from his flask: "Don't joke around. You're always the one causing trouble."

"Exactly! That idiotic Captain causes trouble wherever he goes." Jabba clapped one hand on Rayleigh's shoulder, looking at Roger and complaining!

"Idiot, you shouldn't say such things." Roger lowered his head and smiled, put on his straw hat, and jumped off the ship.

On the shore, two figures had already been waiting for a long time.

"Mama mamama! It's true that seeing is better than hearing, Captain Gol D. Roger." Linlin was the first to greet him.

El was silently standing next to Linlin, but his gaze was very unfriendly as he stared at Roger and the others.

"Hahahaha! Have I really become that famous?" Roger scratched his head, a little embarrassed: "Compared to being able to accept all races and feed everyone, that's a huge difference. King Charlotte Linlin, your wish has shocked the entire sea!"

Linlin lowered her head and was silent for a few seconds: "Most people probably think I'm just a naive fool!"

Roger grinned, revealing a wild and arrogant smile: "No, everyone deserves to have dreams, even if they fall and get bruised all over. At least that's better than regretting it when you're old and lying in bed!"

Linlin looked deeply at Roger. Although Roger's fame wasn't great in the newspapers, that was because the entire newspaper was dominated by Rocks.

This was Rocks' era; no one could climb above Rocks.

But with Roger's current aura, Linlin was certain that Roger was definitely someone worth befriending.

After all, she was now building a nation and couldn't be as carefree as a pirate, just like a careless remark Milim once made.

Make many friends, make few enemies.

Linlin also thought this statement made a lot of sense. Thinking of this, Linlin showed a smile.

"Well then, I wish you a pleasant time in Totto Land. Oh, Milim is lying on that beach chair. If you have time, you can go keep her company; she's quite bored right now."

After speaking, Linlin turned and left without hesitation. There was still a lot of work to be done in the country, and Linlin only came out now because the commotion here was too great.

Roger and El stared at each other, both unsure of what to say. The scene suddenly became very awkward.

Suddenly, Roger was the first to speak: "Brothers, what are you all still standing around for? If you need to buy things, go buy them. Don't just stand here."

"That's right, Roger! I'm going to buy some liquor now!" Rayleigh, the Vice-Captain, said and then turned and left.

The rest of the crew also scattered, and in the blink of an eye, everyone had disappeared.

El looked at Roger and merely said: "Have a good time!" Then he got busy with his own affairs, calling the port workers back and salvaging all the cargo that had fallen into the sea.

Roger watched El leave, his gaze instantly fixed on Milim, who was lying on a beach chair, leisurely sipping juice... Milim, who was leisurely sipping juice, suddenly felt a familiar presence approaching her.

Milim sat up, annoyed: "Hey! Can't you see I'm working right now? If you dare to disturb me again, do you believe I'll beat you up?"

Roger moved a sun lounger next to Milim and sat down as well.

"Don't be so angry!" Roger casually picked up an apple from the table and took a bite: "We've become acquainted through a fight, and you're not really busy right now, are you?"

"Who said that? I'm currently protecting the safety of the entire Totto Land, and it's very tiring." Milim was very indignant, as she was clearly working hard.

"Haha, hahaha!" Roger burst into laughter, looking at Milim's adorable appearance.

Milim looked at Roger with a gloomy face: "Do you have any complaints about me?!"

Roger quickly waved his hand: "I just think you're very cute. If my daughter could be as cute as you in the future, that would be great."

"You have good taste. Since you've praised me like this, let's just forget about what happened earlier." Milim's personality was like a child's; she was easily happy and easily angered.

"By the way, are you and Charlotte Linlin really twin sisters?" Roger looked at Milim with disbelief!

Milim proudly tilted her head: "Of course! You can even see that our hair color is the same."

"That's truly incredible! I heard you're even the older sister. How is it possible to give birth to twins with such a huge difference in body size?" Roger exclaimed.

"It's always like this. Every time people find out Linlin and I are sisters, they have this question."

"There's no helping it. Even in the miraculous sea, twins like you are very surprising." Roger chuckled twice.

"By the way, Milim, is there anything fun to do around here?" Roger asked Milim: "I can't just sit here all the time, can I?"

"Fun!" Milim lowered her head in thought, then her eyes lit up.

"Roger, on this island, if you just jump a little, you can float in the sky. Do you want to try it?"

Roger smiled. Although he already knew the characteristics of this island, looking at Milim's sparkling eyes, even Roger felt a little embarrassed to refuse. There was no help for it; he would just play along with Milim.

Milim led Roger to the highest cliff on Spring Island. The height of this cliff was so great that it could even reach the clouds.

Roger glanced down at the bottomless abyss and couldn't help but swallow.

"Hey, Milim, isn't it a bit too high here?" Roger hesitated. At such a height, even he would be seriously injured if he fell to the ground.

Milim showed a disdainful smile: "So you're already scared, huh? You really are a low-level pirate."
