Chapter 15 - Chapter 13 – Firestorm Threat

The morning air was thick and heavy, carrying a hint of smoke from the northern ridge. I didn't need a look to know something was wrong—the forest's edge glowed faintly, flickers of orange breaking through the early sunlight.

"Infernape," I said, releasing him instantly. Flames curled along his wrists in alert patterns, ready for action. "We have a problem."

Lila and Arcanine appeared at my side, ready to act. "The forest again?" she asked, tension in her voice.

"Yes," I said. "But this time, it's bigger. We'll need the full team."

Kai's Electivire sparked excitedly. "I can help!"

"Yes," I said. "But stay precise. Every action counts."

Garchomp and Hydreigon took to the sky, scanning for signs of rogue Pokémon or dangerous fire spread. Ceruledge and Talonflame hovered nearby, ready to intercept attacks or create controlled barriers. Roserade's vines twitched as she read the forest's distress.

We approached the ridge to find a massive Entei, roaring across the treeline. Flames roared uncontrollably, scorching the recovering forest. Wild Pokémon scattered in panic, and the heat alone made the air shimmer.

"This isn't natural," I muttered. "It's a reaction… maybe territorial, maybe provoked."

"Arcanine, protect the wild Pokémon!" Lila shouted, releasing him fully. He surged forward, forming a shield between the fleeing Oddish and the raging Entei.

"Hydreigon, Garchomp, control the skies," I called. "Infernape, Ceruledge, flank the front!"

The siblings nodded, their movements synchronized with their Pokémon. Kai's Electivire pulsed along the perimeter, creating temporary barriers and signaling safe zones. Theo's Quagsire waddled beside them, blocking debris and guiding smaller Pokémon out of danger.

Entei roared, flames erupting in waves that threatened the Gym grounds. I stayed calm, observing patterns while issuing precise commands.

"Infernape, Blaze Kick. Ceruledge, sword strike to flank. Hydreigon, aerial pressure!"

The Pokémon moved as one. Infernape darted between flames, redirecting bursts with perfect timing. Ceruledge cut a path to control Entei's movement. Hydreigon swooped from above, guiding debris and pressure zones. Garchomp patrolled the edges, keeping wild Pokémon from straying.

Lila's Arcanine acted decisively, shielding panicked Pokémon and nudging them toward safety zones. Kai directed Electivire with precision, creating controlled shocks that blocked stray flames without harm.

Entei, sensing resistance, unleashed a massive eruption aimed at the Gym itself. I didn't hesitate.

"Hydreigon, block the skies! Garchomp, flank left! Infernape, Ceruledge, coordinated strike!"

The Pokémon obeyed instantly. Blaze Kick and Ceruledge's sword strike landed simultaneously, forcing Entei back. Arcanine shielded fleeing Pokémon. Electivire pulsed along the ground, disrupting dangerous heat currents. The coordinated effort created a safe corridor for the wild Pokémon to escape.

Lila's confidence was radiant now. "We can do this!" she shouted, guiding Arcanine to block another blast.

Kai mirrored her determination, Electivire pulsing in tandem. "Electivire's got this!"

Hours passed. Entei finally retreated to the ridges, exhausted and frustrated. Hydreigon and Garchomp remained on patrol, ensuring it would not return immediately. The Gym team, siblings, and supporting Pokémon exhaled collectively.

"You two did perfectly," I told Lila and Kai. Lila's cheeks flushed with pride. "Every move, every command, was controlled and precise."

She hugged Arcanine tightly. "We… we really did it."

Kai grinned, Electivire buzzing lightly. "And I didn't shock anyone by accident!"

Infernape nudged me, flames curling lazily. "They're ready," he seemed to say.

From the Gym balcony, I surveyed the island. The forest had suffered minor burns, but the coordinated effort had prevented disaster. My siblings had proven themselves in real-world emergency scenarios. Our Gym, rebuilt and thriving, had become a hub of teamwork, strategy, and resilience.

Tomorrow would bring new visitors, new challenges, and new opportunities to grow. But tonight, the island was safe, and for the first time, I allowed myself a small smile. This was what leadership felt like—not the fire of battle, but the calm in the storm.
