Chapter 6 - The Price of Wasting Food You Can't Afford It

The variety of dishes on the menu was simply outrageous.

Main courses ranged from various noodles to rice, while vegetarian dishes were even more diverse, from common greens to rare fruits and exotic ingredients. As for meat dishes, there were flying fowl, walking beasts, mountain delicacies, and seafood – everything imaginable.

Desserts, soups, drinks… there were over a dozen major categories, and each category had even more different choices.

The names of the various dishes were dazzling.

Things like "yunze thousand-silk silver thread noodles," "dragon blood glutinous coral rice," "glazed heart fruit salad"… just hearing the names made one feel they were high-class and sophisticated.

However, when Chrysanthemum Douluo saw the prices listed below, he almost popped his eyeballs out.

8,000 gold coins for a bowl of noodles?

What kind of concept was that?

One must know that 8,000 gold coins were enough for an ordinary family of three to live carefree for ten lifetimes!

Yet, in this shabby shop, he could only order one bowl of noodles?

Even if he, as a Titled Douluo, was wealthy and didn't care about the money, he couldn't be such a sucker, right?

Chrysanthemum Douluo glared fiercely at Lin Feng, but the fellow was still leisurely lying on the rocking chair, his calm expression practically saying: Eat if you want, if not, turn left and leave.

He seemed completely unaware of how outrageous the prices he set were.

"Damn it, does this kid really think he's a god?"

Chrysanthemum Douluo cursed inwardly, then sneered.

Since you dare to set such an outrageous price, then I'll order a pile of dishes first. When it's time to pay, I won't, and we'll see what you can do to me!

"I want this yunze thousand-silk silver thread noodles, and also this glazed heart fruit salad."

Chrysanthemum Douluo deliberately raised his voice, pointing at the dishes on the menu with his orchid-like finger.

"And a grilled thunder rhino ribs. Hmm… I'll also have a serving of this Star-Splendor Pheasant."

Hu Liena and the other two watched from the side, trembling with fear.

What was Elder Ju trying to do?

It didn't feel like he was planning to pay normally!

"And this…"

Chrysanthemum Douluo was about to continue ordering when he suddenly heard a lazy voice from behind the counter.

"Are you sure you want to order so much?"

Lin Feng finally spoke, though he still hadn't opened his eyes.

"The food in my shop has extremely high energy content. Even a Titled Douluo has an appetite similar to an ordinary person's."

"Ordering too much and not finishing it is a waste, and I don't allow food waste here."

Chrysanthemum Douluo almost burst out laughing when he heard this.

Did this kid really take himself seriously? Not allowing food waste?

"What business is it of yours? I have plenty of money!"

Chrysanthemum Douluo deliberately provoked, his orchid-like finger gently stroking his cheek.

"I'll order as much as I want. How can a small shop owner like you dictate to me?"

Lin Feng slowly opened his eyes then, casting a faint glance at Chrysanthemum Douluo.

"Suit yourself, but let me warn you, you can't bear the consequences of wasting food."

After speaking, he closed his eyes again, clearly adopting an 'I don't care' attitude.

Chrysanthemum Douluo was almost provoked into laughter by this statement. Can't bear the consequences? What consequences could he, Chrysanthemum Douluo, not bear?

"Fine! Then I'll continue ordering!"

Chrysanthemum Douluo fiercely flipped through the menu, "And another…"

"Elder Ju!"

Hu Liena couldn't stand it anymore and quickly stepped forward to grab Chrysanthemum Douluo's arm.

"Don't be impulsive! Since that senior said so, he must have his reasons!"

Yan also squatted to the side, clutching his still faintly aching stomach, and advised, "Elder Ju, how about you order a little less?"

Xie Yue even directly blocked Chrysanthemum Douluo's path: "Elder, our original intention this time wasn't to eat, but just to verify the situation. Ordering one or two items to show our sincerity is enough!"

The trio's earnest dissuasion made Chrysanthemum Douluo calm down a little.

"Alright, then I'll have a Twilight Snow Warm Jade Soup, and finally, a Crimson Heart Brew."

Chrysanthemum Douluo snorted, finally stopping his ordering.

"Wait a moment."

Lin Feng slowly got up from the rocking chair, put on an apron, donned a chef's hat, and was about to enter the back kitchen.

It was at this moment that Hu Liena bravely spoke up: "Um… Senior, can the three of us also order a bowl of clear noodle soup?"

Her voice carried a cautious probing, afraid of angering this mysterious shop owner.

Hu Liena knew very well that with Chrysanthemum Douluo's demeanor today, he was determined to cause trouble.

As the three who had brought Chrysanthemum Douluo here, they would probably never be allowed to eat here again.

Thinking of this, Hu Liena felt an ache in her heart.

This was a magical place that could directly increase spirit power! If they missed this village, where would they find such a shop?

Therefore, she decided that before being completely blacklisted, every extra meal she could eat was one more meal.

Xie Yue and Yan also instantly snapped back to reality and quickly echoed her.

"Yes, yes, yes! We also want to order three bowls of clear noodle soup!" Yan clutched his still faintly aching stomach, his tone filled with obvious longing.

"Senior, please!" Xie Yue even bowed directly, his attitude as sincere as could be.

However, facing the trio's ordering request, Lin Feng just shook his head.

Seeing this, Hu Liena and the others' hearts instantly sank halfway.

It's over!

They thought the other party wouldn't allow them to eat here anymore, and the three instantly felt despair.

Perhaps, under Chrysanthemum Douluo's huge spending, Lin Feng might not even care about their small business of three hundred gold coins.

The three looked ashen, their faces filled with despair.

If they had known this, why did they tell Chrysanthemum Douluo about it? Wouldn't it have been better to just eat and level up quietly?

Hu Liena almost cried out loud. She felt a bright and promising path was about to be completely cut off because of today's incident.

However, the next second, Lin Feng's words rekindled their hope.

"Normally, a person can only eat one meal here per day." Lin Feng's tone was still lazy, but to the trio's ears, it was like heavenly music. "If you still want to eat, then come back tomorrow."

At this point, Lin Feng's voice paused, and he calmly added, "As long as you are a customer in my shop, there is no distinction of high or low, only first come, first served, regardless of how much you spend."

Hearing this, Hu Liena and the others almost jumped up in excitement.

So, it wasn't that he wouldn't let them eat, but that it was the shop's rule!

"That's great!" Yan excitedly punched the air, but he pulled his injury, making him grimace in pain.

Hu Liena's eyes were red, deeply moved: "Senior, you are truly too kind!"

Xie Yue also let out a long sigh of relief, his tense nerves finally relaxing.

Chrysanthemum Douluo, watching the reactions of these three little brats, twitched his lips.

What was the big deal? It was just a broken bowl of noodles, why were they so moved?

However, he quickly turned his attention back to Lin Feng, pouting, "Alright, stop pretending to be a good guy. Hurry up and make the dishes!"

Lin Feng glanced at Chrysanthemum Douluo, ignoring his provocation, only a strange smile played on his lips as he turned and walked into the kitchen.

Chrysanthemum Douluo sat in the chair, arms crossed, looking like he was waiting to watch a good show.

He had already planned it: when that kid brought the dishes, he would find fault with the quality of the food, then refuse to pay, to see what the other party could do to him.
