Suraj was your average IT worker in India. He was a pretty good worker but was a bit slow. He earned enough money to fill one's stomach, enough to live by himself. He has graduated from a respectable institution, the one where you had to write a hard exam to get into it. His life was bad, very bad. He had a mother but she succumbed to a terminal cancer, he loved his mother a lot thus he slowly developed depression.
Besides depression he had a lot of debt since he had borrowed a lot of money from local loansharks. His salary was not so much thus it was hard for him to pay EMIs and the monthly money to the loansharks. Unable to bear all this he had attempted to take his life few times. But he wasn't able to succeed since he was a coward. Taking one's life takes bravery, even if it's their own life.
He was a top student but not the best worker, infact having is job is also luck. In this population of India it was hard for you to get a job even if you graduated from a respectable University, you needed skills, luck and connections. For now Suraj only had luck, just a bit of it.
Unfortunately luck doesn't last forever. He was fired from his job since they found a reliable AI, the company also fired many other workers. But the skillful workers remained safe from this termination. But again, Suraj didn't blame himself, he blamed the society, the world and the god, for not giving him opportunities. Why couldn't he be rich? Why wasn't he born as a son of a millionaire?. He was afraid to accept his own shortcomings because he was a coward.
At present, he was in a local restaurant/bar. Drinking a lot of liquor to forget about all this pain.
"F*ck, why did he have to fire me? That worthless guy, he calls himself a boss, huh?" He muttered to himself.
After paying the bill, he came out of the bar. He reeked of alcohol. As he walked people showed him a strong aversion, afterall he looked miserable. His clothes were also in a bad shape, he looked very messy. He was muttering and cursing others as he walked, he didn't even own a vehicle. His phone has run out of battery not that he cared.
He walked, dragging himself , he was tired and he was dizzy. He was almost near his home, but he couldn't hold it anymore, he vomitted in the side. His house was rented, so he had to pay the rent naturally.
The whole world felt so silent to him, it was midnight. He opened the door of his house and entered it. Throwing himself on the worn out couch, he was tired. He didn't know what to do for tomorrow. He was tired of everything, himself, the world.
His eyes started to tear up, he placed his hand on his eyes. But he couldn't control the shaky voice.
"Why?" He asked.
"Why am I so unlucky? Why?"
He couldn't control his tears anymore, it flowed down his cheeks. He cried for a long time, even when there was no more tears. He couldn't help but cry and whimper. He had made a decision, to kill himself. He has tried many times but this time he wanted to die for real.
He soon grabbed a kitchen knife, placing the edge on his neck. He gulped, sweat trickled from his body, he was scared. He closed his eyes, 'Dont waver , this time I will, I will kill myself. I will surely do it, yes don't be scared. I can do it' he thought.
But at the end, he wasn't able to do it.
He was scared.
He was a coward.
He bit his lips, why couldn't he do it? Why was he so scared to do it? All he has to do is take his life, but he wasn't able to. He was so miserable. He stood up and walked to his windows, looking outside. It was a clear night, a moon hung on the black backdrop, stars twinkled.
'How beautiful' he thought.
As he continued to look at the moon, he soon saw darkness cover the moon a bit by bit. At the beginning of this he didn't tink of it as much. But after some time he wondered thar if it is a lunae eclipse.
The darkness continued to cover the moon, after few minutes it completely covered it. Not even a single ray of light was now reflected by the moon.
'What? This is taking too long, is lunar Eclipse supposed to take this long? ' he thought .
It was unusual, a lunar eclipse shouldn't have lasted this long.
Suraj dismissed it as some natural phenomenon. He was caught up in his own thoughts anyway.
But for some reason his body now produced a lot of sweat, his breath had increased.
'What is happening? Why am I sweating so much?' he thought.

His breathing had increased, his heart started to beat in an uneven rate.
*Ba thump*

'What is happening?'
He clenched his heart, his body was trickling with sweat. His breathing was fast.
His eyes looked outside the dark sky with no moon to be presented. Only stars remained with the black backdrop.
He suddenly heard a whisper from the window.
"What?" He yelled "Who is it?"
He wasn't able to see anyone.
"Who is it?" He scremed again, clenching his clothes.
His eyes remained on the window. He was scared, he wasn't a brave guy to face these things. As he was looking at the window, a pair of eyes opened but there was no body. It was a jumpscare for him. He fell back, crawling back he screamed for help.
It was just for a moment, but he saw a pair of red eyes, a big pair of red eyes. He was scared, his body was shivering. He had clenched his chest. His consciousness was slipping.
'No, I have to get out of here'
'I have to get o-'
He was no longer consciousness. His was now even an unconscious state as he was lying on the floor. His body was covered in sweat. The red omnipus eyes had disappeared, so did the moon.
