Han Soi finally tightened his grip on Yue Yue's hand and looked at Wei Han with a face like stone. "Fine," he growled, his voice echoing with a dangerous edge.
"I will let her go. But I am not leaving her side for even a second. If you want her help, I go where she goes."
Wei Han let out a breath he had been holding for a long time. He immediately bowed deeply, his forehead nearly touching the grass.
"Thank you, Young Duke. Thank you, Lady Yue Yue. Please, follow me quickly. There is no time to lose."
Wei Han led them toward the very back of the temple complex, past the gardens and into the most restricted area of the Inner Sanctum.
This was the High Priest's personal space, a place where the air usually felt holy and calm. But as they approached, the atmosphere changed completely.
