OH SHIT, RUNNING LATE AGAIN?
Jason Martinez, now 17, wakes up late...again, With His alarm going off. He groans.
JASON: "OH SHIT, Not again..."
He wears his jeans while combing his hair, he grabs his jacket and rushes down the stairs.
He sees Jessica and tries to annoy her
JASON: "Heyyyy Jessica! I'm late again!
She doesn't say anything
JASON: what no nicknames today?
She doesn't say anything
JASON: Come on at least say something
JESSICA (half-distracted, getting ready): "I'm late too, Jay. Let's go."
Jason is a bit disappointed but not surprised. No more teasing, just his older sister being matured.
Jason narrates
Mannn, Sometimes I miss it when Jessica used to tease me before i go to school, I know getting job is stressful and all but DAMN she really needs to lighten up a bit. *sigh* I can't say I blame her I mean ever since mom died she has been the one taking care of everything, she pays the bills, puts food on the table & most of all she takes care of me.
I just wish I could help her out, I just hope I get into the Shadow Elites so I can also pay for some of the expenses, I mean I love to be in the shadow elites but we also need the money.
Jason stares for a second before Jessica taps his shoulders, says "bye, don't forget to lock the doors" and leaves.
He grabs a piece of toast, runs out the door, and grabs the neighbor's bike...again and rode off with it
MR. HOWARDS (yelling from window): "I SWEAR I'M CALLING THE POLICE THIS TIME!"
JASON: THANKS AGAIN FOR THE BIKE MR HOWARDS!!!! I PROMISE TO RETURN IT
As Jason races to school.
WRONG CLASS?
Jason rushed into class just before the bell relieved.
MRS. HAWKINS (right behind him): "Earlier than me. Well done, Mr. Martinez."
JASON (panting, surprised): "Thank you Mrs Hawkins, Wait... what?"
He looks around. The classroom is empty.
MRS HAWKINS: "You don't have my class today, Mr. Martinez. You'd know that if you paid attention yesterday."
JASON (facepalms, has an inner monologue/talks to himself): Right, today's Wednesday so that mean we have P.E, F**k I hate P.E, not because of the useless exercises but the gym teacher...well you will see for yourself
THE SCHOOL GYM
(Aka JASON'S MINI HELL)
Jason finally finds the right class-P.E.
MR. MALCOWSKI {THE GYM TEACHER, a tall muscular middle-aged man} (SCREAMING): "MR. MARTINEZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! YOUUUUUUUUU ARE LATE AGAINNNN!!!"
Daniel gulps & stares in horror
JASON (In a hurry): Mr Malcowski I can explain, you se-
MR. MALCOWSKI (interrupts): "200 PUSH-UPS! RUN THE FIELD. Then you're dodgeball target practice."
JASON: But Mr. Malco-
MR. MALCOWSKI: ON THE GROUND MARTINEZ!! ON THE GROUND!!
Jason immediately got on the ground, and tries to do some push ups
MR. MALCOWSKI (While Jason is doing a push up): 4.....5.....6....7!! COME ON MARTINEZ
Jason collapses mid push-up.
MR. MALCOWSKI: "Weak! Take five... then do FIVE HUNDRED MORE!"
JASON (to himself): "The hell?!"
He then lays there as MR. MALCOWSKI walks off. Daniel approaches.
DANIEL: "Late again, huh? Whatcha doing down there?."
JASON (sarcastic): "OH nothing. Just prepping for my WrestleMania debut against Brock Lesnar."
DANIEL (chuckles): "You're not coming out alive. Here *hands Jason a bottles of water*"
And He helps Jason up.
THEY SAT ON ONE OF THE BENCHES & TALKED
JASON: "Soooo...We can finally apply for the Shadow Elite Junior program." {The Shadow Elite Junior Program is like the Shadow Elite but for the young up-comers basically The Shadow Elites for teens *side note the person must be at least 17 to apply*}
DANIEL: "Yeah I know...but then again there's the money, time, and you know... actual skills. We aren't got none."
JASON: "We will find a way. we always do, and what do you mean by actual skills? Bro you built a whole ass battle tank in your bed room ."
DANIEL: i got bored, ok
JASON: I get bored too but you don't see me making a world war 2 weapon in my bedroom
DANIEL: Whatever man, So how do we get in if we don't have the money to apply
JASON: I get nothing yet but I'll come with something
DANIEL: *sigh* Am still wondering why people call me the smart one
Then Mr Malcowski Walks up to them all loud and energetic
MR. MALCOWSKI: PARKERRRR!!!! I SEE YOU ARE DISTRACTING MARTINEZ FROM DOING HIS 500 PUSH UPS AYY!
DANIEL (silently): I thought it was 200...
MR. MALCOWSKI (gives him a death stare): are you trying to correct me boy?
DANIEL (Scared/Nervous): NO MR. MALCOWSKI SIR, I WOULD NEVER
MR. MALCOWSKI: GOOD NOW JOIN MARTINEZ, YOU BOTH WILL BE DOING 500 PUSH UPS 250 EACH JUST TO MAKE IT FAIR
DANIEL face turns pale
MR. MALCOWSKI: GET ON THE GROUND YOU LITTLE MAGGOT!!
Out of fear both Daniel and Jason started doing push-ups while MR. MALCOWSKI counts
Jason (while doing the pushups, inter monologue): Man...am already tired and I only did like what 10 push ups? and I dragged Daniel into this, I wonder what's going on in his mind right now
Meanwhile Daniel (inter monologue): This man is insane, How the hell does he expect us to perform 250 push ups when he can hardly do 50 in a row, I mean yeah he's ripped but AM NOT A F**KING ATHLETE!!!
They continued as MR. MALCOWSKI continues to count
Later, they walk home together. As Jason Narrates again:
The Shadow Elites Junior program is my one way ticket to achieving my dream, and of course it had to be blocked by a fucking pay wall *sigh* I normally don't care about money... (ok sometimes I do) but if I get into this program and become a junior elite member,I can kill two birds with one stone by being a young member of the SDE and I can finally help Jessy out with some of the expenses {Just like the Shadow Elites The Junior Elite Members also gets paid by the end of the month (even without saving anyone). they also get a bonus if they manage to do a solo save (a group save will be spilt evenly)}
DANIEL: "Maybe you should ask Jessica for help."
JASON: "She's already got a lot on her plate D. And I would love to try, but..."
They see Jessica getting out of her car (their moms old car) and shes mad and she's arguing with someone on the phone.
JASON: "...not today."
JASON WENT TO DANIEL'S PLACE TO DISCUSS THEIR NEXT MOVE
(DANIEL'S BEDROOM)
DANIEL: "So what now?"
JASON: "What now? Plan B of course"
DANIEL: "*sigh* am gonna hate myself for asking but....What's plan B?"
JASON: "Ever seen Money Heist?"
DANIEL: "I HATE THIS PLAN ALREADY."
JASON: "Alright alright... but seriously, have you?"
DANIEL: "I REALLY don't like where this is going."
Jason explains overhearing the math teacher aka Mrs. Hawkins and principal talking about gym renovation funds and seeing the principal leaving the cash in her office.
DANIEL: so let me get this straight, you want us to STEAL FROM THE SCHOOL?
JASON: "Of course not, We will just borrow it....Temporarily."
DANIEL: "Stealing from our school? that's risky man, No way!"
JASON: "You mean the school that made us do 500 pushups?"
DANIEL (dramatically): "IT' WAS BECAUSE OF YOU!!!"
DANIEL (Serious): "Look Jay, I can hardly sneak into my own bedroom without waking those two little demons up"
JASON: "That's fine I will be the one to sneak in while you will be on the look out"
DANIEL: "*sigh* Alright I'm in... but just this once."
And....Right Behind them-
MAI & MILES {Daniel's 12 year old siblings, they are also twins} (in unison): "We're in too!"
DANIEL: "WHAT-NO WAY!"
MILES: awwn come on please
DANIEL: NO MILES, you guys can't come
MAI: "Let us help or I tell mom what you did last summer."
MILES: "Wait, what did he do last summer?"
DANIEL: "You wouldn't dare-"
MAI (grinning): "Try me."
JASON: "So...are we letting them come or...?"
DANIEL: "Wait, what?!"
JASON: "They could help. And Also, she's blackmailing you, I mean last summer...."
MAI: and besides we won't interfere at all we would just be on the lookout right?
Everyone nods.
DANIEL (groaning): "Fine. BUT-on one condition: If anyone gets caught, we all go down together. No heroes."
EVERYONE: "YAAAAAA!!!"
THE SCHOOL YARD (11PM)
They made it to the school on bikes with Daniel carrying his backpack filled with gadgets for them, he also gave them some masks for them to wear
Jason's internal monologue runs over as they're sneaking through the school, disabling the security systems with Daniel's gadgets, crawling and narrowly avoiding the security guard from seeing them. Meanwhlie the twins are in halls on the look out
JASON (internal): "I never thought this was the way I'd chase my dream but hey what ever it takes am I right?
Sneaking through the halls of a school that never believed in me... With friends who probably deserve better than this plan.
But what is a dream worth if you're not willing to take risks?
Some people invest and expecting to get their money back, some people train to get to a higher level... while Some people steal because they got no other options all in all if you don't take risks you can't make it in life.
We're just kids. Kids who want more.
And if that means bending the rules a little... So be it."
As they grab the money from the principal's office desk, a noise from across the hall startles them.
Miles (whispering, while hiding): SOMEONE IS COMING!!!
Daniel: What? Mai quick I need a description
Mai (whispering): I think she's a teacher she is wearing glasses and SHE HAS A surprisingly nice tied bun
Daniel: Oh shit it's Mrs. Hawkins
JASON (while collecting the money): What is she even doing here?
Daniel: Don't know but you really need to hurry up
Miles & Mai hide behind some trash bins on opposite side of each other to avoid being seen, then from the corner of the halls the security guard was approaching and Miles freaks out and tries to run off but bumps into Mrs. Hawkins and they both screamed out of fear
the security guard rushed in.
MRS. HAWKINS: "WHO ARE YOU? THEIF!!!!"
Mai & Miles freeze. Nobody moves. Nobody speaks as the security guard slowly approaches them
Suddenly, the fire alarm goes off then boom Daniel triggers a smoke bomb in the twins utility belt.
JASON (grabbing the twins): "Time to go."
He leap out the window and escape into the night with Daniel waiting for them outside on his bike.
THE AFTERMATH
DANIEL: "I TOLD YOU THIS WAS DANGEROUS!"
JASON: "And fun!"
Everyone laughs expect Daniel
DANIEL: "But seriously... what if Miles & Mai got caught?"
JASON: "But they didn't thanks to your quick thinking. And you really love asking 'what if this, what if that'."
MILES: "Yeah, stop worrying big bro we made it out, that's what's important"
MAI: "He's right for once."
MILES: "Thanks wait...HEY!!"
DANIEL: "I just care about the possibilities."
MAI: "And yet you are bad at gambling?."
DANIEL: WHY YOU LITTL-
JASON: "That's life, man. Possibilities are everywhere. but don't let those possibilities stop you from doing what you want.
DANIEL (quietly): "of topic but...I get it."
MILES: "That's why Jason is our cool big brother."
DANIEL: "Hey! What about me?!"
MAI: "Pretty sure that's what he meant."
DANIEL (Dramatically): "When we get home, I'm lasering both of y'all eyebrows off."
MAI: "Am telling mommmmm!!!"
{Side note: Daniel actually lives alone with his two siblings, since their mom is always busy all the time and she hardly visits due to her business trips, as for their father he actually left because they got a divorce}
LATER THAT NIGHT JASON RETURNS HOME (ITS 2AM)
Jason climbs through his window.
It's dark.
VOICE (off-panel): "Where have you been?"
Jason freezes.
JASON (Freaks out): "Who's there, Am armed?!"
JESSICA (flips on light): "It's me, you idiot."
JASON (sighing): "Oh Jessica, You scared me *chuckles*."
JESSICA: "Where were you, Jay? I called. I texted. You didn't even get back to me."
JASON (trying to change subject): "Oh sorry but hey You look tired. Want some water-"
Jessica suddenly breaks down, tears flowing.
JESSICA: "Don't you know how much I worry about you?"
Jason doesn't know what to do. He gently pats her back.
JASON: "Am sorry. But I can take care of myself Jess."
JESSICA: "That's what Mom said... and..."
She looks down.
JESSICA (quietly): "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"
Jason hugs her.
JASON: "Its fine I get it...She even told me to take care of you. Before... you know."
JESSICA (through tears): "Really?"
JASON: "Yeah. I miss her too. But she'd want us to move forward. Together."
JESSICA (sniffles): "Yeah I know...You're such a dork you know that."
JASON (smirking): "You're only crying because you love me. Admit it."
JESSICA (wiping her eyes): "Shut up, losers."
JASON: "Only if you do."
They laugh, hugging a little tighter.
Then Jason gets a flash back to the night of his mother's death-the screams, the blood. But most importantly that creature...
Back to Jason's eyes in the present.
JASON (internal monologue): "I don't know who or what you are... But the day we meet again- I'll end you. And your whole crew."
