Then out of nowhere, Yuki asked. "Akira? What was that thing?" Her voice was barely audible over the running water.
Akira's hands paused on her ribs for just a moment before continuing their methodical cleaning.
He activated Silver Tongue instinctively, letting the skill guide his words into something believable, something that would satisfy her curiosity without revealing too much.
"I don't know exactly," he said, his voice taking on a tone of sincere confusion that felt real even though he had carefully planned and chosen his words and tone. "Like some kind of escaped... animal? Maybe from a lab or something? I've heard stories about experimental animals getting loose in the city."
"That didn't look like any animal I've ever seen."
"Me neither. But what else could it be?" He moved his soapy hands to her stomach, washing away the greenish residue with gentle circular motions. "The important thing is it's gone now. And you're safe."
