The lightning surged upward, eroding the ground beneath their feet!
One by one, they screamed as their bodies were paralyzed by the electric current!
"Ah..."
"What... what's happening?"
"I can't move..."
The electrified ninjas of the Electric Ninja Village cried out in panic. How ironic—these very ninjas, hailing from the Electric Ninja Village, had been paralyzed en masse by Kakashi's Lightning Release technique!
This ninjutsu was a modified version of Chidori, its power diminished but its paralyzing effect amplified. Though still classified as an A-rank technique, its learning difficulty matched Chidori's, yet its destructive power barely surpassed that of a B-rank technique. Its primary function: paralysis.
"Heh, the rain enhances this technique's power. Except for Feng, no one managed to dodge in time!"
Kakashi chuckled inwardly as he observed the Lightning Net Annihilation ensnare the surrounding Electric Ninjas. The technique's effectiveness far exceeded his expectations.
*Whoosh!*
Instead of finishing off the paralyzed ninjas, Kakashi chose to retreat using the Flash Technique.
"Hmph!"
Enraged, Feng let out a furious snort and charged after Kakashi, the same pursuit unfolding as before. The other Electric Ninjas remained trapped in place, their bodies immobilized.
While defending against Feng's attacks, Kakashi retreated steadily. The paralysis effect on the other Electric Ninjas quickly wore off, and by the time Kakashi reached a rocky outcropping, they had all caught up and surrounded him once more.
"This time, I'll see how you escape!" Feng glared coldly at the panting Kakashi, a sinister smile curling his lips.
*Boom!* As Feng spoke, lightning serpents in the sky flashed in unison, as if proclaiming Kakashi's impending doom.
"You just make sure he doesn't escape. I'll handle him!" Feng ordered the other Electric Ninjas. He couldn't risk any more casualties; too many of his subordinates had already fallen to Kakashi's hands. They couldn't afford any more losses!
"Hmph, don't worry. Even if I die, I'll drag you to hell with me!" Kakashi countered Feng's cold smile with one of his own, his crimson Sharingan glowing with icy malice.
Hearing Kakashi's words, Feng's mocking smile froze, his lips twitching slightly. Kakashi's words had clearly unnerved him. While confident in his ability to kill Kakashi, Feng still harbored a sliver of fear toward someone who could potentially injure him. He wondered if Kakashi had any more powerful ninjutsu or sword techniques up his sleeve.
"Go on, then, if you've got the guts!" Feng quickly recovered from the shock, snapping back with disdain. A ninja's focus should never be shaken by an opponent's mere words.
*Whoosh!*
With that, Feng charged at Kakashi again. Though he feigned nonchalance, deep down, he still respected Kakashi's capabilities. His strategy remained unchanged: relentless pressure would grind down his opponent, leaving Kakashi no time to unleash any hidden techniques.
A blade's aura slashed toward Kakashi, cleaving even the falling raindrops in mid-air. Some Electric Ninja Village ninjas couldn't even track Feng's movements; they could only infer his path from the split raindrops.
*Klang!*
As Feng attacked, they finally caught glimpses of his fleeting figure.
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
The battle continued unabated. Though Kakashi bore fresh wounds and his old injuries had yet to fully heal, he remained calm and composed, parrying Feng's attacks with practiced ease.
The surrounding Electric Ninjas, tasked with maintaining a perimeter to prevent Kakashi's escape, were astonished. Though Kakashi wasn't as swift as their leader Feng, he consistently blocked Feng's strikes with his blade, occasionally even managing counterattacks.
Their eyes filled with reverence as they observed Kakashi's prowess. No wonder he had slaughtered so many of their comrades—truly worthy of being a Konoha Anbu!
Yet beneath this awe burned a deeper, more visceral emotion: rage. Rage that Kakashi had slain so many of their fellow Electric Ninjas, and more importantly, that he had killed Lin, one of only two Jonin in their village besides their leader Feng.
As they recalled Lin's daily kindnesses, their eyes blazed crimson with bloodlust, each wishing they could personally tear Kakashi apart.
"Leader!"
"Go on! Kill him!"
"Avenge our fallen comrades! Avenge Lord Lin!"
Several furious Electric Ninjas brandished their weapons, shouting encouragement to Feng. Their eyes brimmed with anticipation, eager for the moment their leader would finally slay this detestable Konoha Anbu!
"Blood splattering five feet!"
When that moment came, they would undoubtedly rush forward to whip the corpse of their enemy in their fury!
Hearing the stiff determination in his subordinates' voices, Feng paused briefly before redoubling his ferocity in his assault on Kakashi. He understood their feelings; he shared them, and his own were even heavier.
*Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!*
As Feng's attacks grew increasingly rapid, the raindrops in the sky swelled, the wind howled, and the lightning in the dark clouds flashed incessantly. It was no longer just a few isolated bolts; the wild lightning danced across the entire mountain, illuminating it with its brilliance.
Kakashi, fighting relentlessly, also observed the weather's rapid deterioration. His Sharingan continuously calculated the conditions under which the lightning above the clouds would coalesce.
"Wolf... you've sought your own death. Even if I revealed myself now, I couldn't save you. All I'd do is throw away my own life!"
In the distance, the Konoha Anbu trailing Kakashi watched the battle on the mountain, silently murmuring to himself.
Though Danzō's favor for Kakashi still rankled him, the impending death of a Konoha elite ninja stirred a flicker of regret and sorrow within him.
Clutching his weapon, the Konoha Anbu trailing Kakashi hesitated. Despite his reservations, he ultimately chose not to assist. The enemy forces were overwhelming. His specialty lay in stealthy assassinations, but the moment he revealed himself, the Electric Ninja would pin him down. If Kakashi fell, so would he.
"Ah... That's..."
