Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Drake pov:

It felt strange how the expression on her face instantly changed the moment she saw the pendant I was holding. One second she looked like she was ready to tear me into pieces with the dagger, the next second her angry expression went away and she started asking me questions about my pendant.

"where the fucking hell did you get that pendant?" She asked again this time her tone sounded unsettling.

"What!, you didn't hear me the first time or you deaf . "I said I got it from my wife." and why the hell do you care about were I got my pendant?

After confirming my reply again, she lowered her gaze. "No, no. How can that be?" the words left her lips in a whisper leaving me dumbfounded.

At first I thought she was going crazy, maybe it's the trauma of watching me kill her uncle. "hay put yourself together I know how it feels to….

But before I could finish my sentence, she reached under her clothe and pulled out a pendant exactly like mine, holding it high for me to see while the sparkling surface reflected the sunlight.

I was left speechless, I couldn't know how to put it. I instantly glanced at the pendant In my hands and back to the one she was holding up.

Two matching pendants. The same shape, the same metal design, but the only thing that sets them aside was the markings. the markings on them were different in a way but I couldn't tell how. at list not until I stepped forward without thinking.

I was so curious to see the letters scratched on it closely. and surprisingly, while i approach her, she didn't pull away.

I took the pendant from her hand and read the marking.

Elska-Lisa

My wife's name. It hit me like ice. My own pendant said Elska-Eva. My wife told me she had carved that name on it long ago and I never cared to ask her who or what it meant.

"How did you get this?" My voice came out rougher than I expected, demanding for an answer.

"Lisa is my wife. How do you know her name?"

With no warning she raised her gaze, locking her blue eyes straight at mine. "Because she is my sister,"

Those words shocked me.

No. That's not possible. Lisa never spoke anything about a sister, and in all our years we spent together she never once said she had one.

If you ask me, I would have said she was lying but those familiar eyes of hers said otherwise.

"How?" I whispered. "How is Lisa your sister? She never told me…"

She cut me off. I could see the tears welding up in her eyes but despite that her voice was steady. "Our parents gave us these matching pendants on our eighth birthday. Lisa and I made those markings on them to also signify the deep endless love we had for each other as a family.

But then the lycans came and attacked our village. I watched my parents get killed In front of me. my uncle managed to escape with me but my sister. Lisa, she wasn't so lucky.

All this year's, I had to leave with the fact that we left her behind, we couldn't save her and there was no doubt she was dead."

"Both of you eight years birthday?" I needed to hear it again. Their years were fitting together, and it sounded weird to me.

"yes,"

"So you mean.... "both of you are twins?"

She nodded slightly. Now I can understand why I couldn't bring myself to hurt her last night when she kept on attacking me nonstop.

They were not identical in terms of looks, but had the same bone shapes, the same small mouth, the same tilt chin. their eyes were exactly the same, too. That was the only obvious thing that they had in comparison.

But the only difference is that Lisa's blue eyes were filled with warmth and love, but hers. hers were cold, sharpened by pain and lost over the years.

"Where is my sister?" she asked. Her voice cuting the air between us like blade. "Where is Lisa?"

I felt the pendant grow heavy in my hands the moment she asked that.

"She's dead."

She froze for a moment without saying a word. I couldn't tell why someone who had assumed her sister was dead for years was shocked by the words I just said.

I could see her hand grip tighter around the handle of the dagger.

"why?....you killed her or what?" she asked, with her tone now filled with Malice.

"No!" I raised my hands with the fear of she might start her endless attack again, which I wasn't in the mood for.

"Lair!" She spat. "Come to think of it, how do I know if anything you are saying is through?

yes it's true, don't you see?.

No I don't see, the only thing I see is a monster holding my sister's pendant. Maybe you are one of those lycan who attacked our village and killed my sister. yes that must be it, that's how you got her pendant…

"I am not a lycan, " I shouted in rage at her words. It was so loud it sent the birds outside flying from their nest making her to silence in shock.

"Look, I am not a lycan, ok. I said with a calm voice this time. "I knew Lisa from a small village," I continued. " and she never reviewed ever having a sister or anything about the lycans attacking her family in the past. The only thing I know is that she was adopted by a farmer as a child, but he died 2 years before me and her met.

she blinked. but she did not lower the dagger, but I kept on talking anyways with my gaze facing down as I remember everything like it was yesterday. because to me it was.

"We fell in love and ran away together. you see this house, this used to be our home. my home," My voice broke. not until the lycans came and took everything. They burned our two children alive and forced me to watch as they killed her right in front of me before they ripped out my heart.

For a moment silence filled the air between us, and I could still feel the rage and grief of everything burning inside me just like that night.

"But you are still alive," She said softly.

"What?" I said lifting my gaze back at her with my eyes now filled with hate.

"You said they ripped out your heart, so how come you are still alive?

"Ha, ha, ha...."Ha ha ha ha, I let out a psycho laugh, some how amused by her asking me a reasonable question.

"isn't it obvious, I was given a second chance at life, even death couldn't let me die in peace…. ha ha ha. I kept on laughing loud uncontrollably for no reason. Maybe it was me trying my best to hide the pain if feet Inside, but still it doesn't seem to be working.

With that i stared at the both pendants in my hands once again, " I will use this second chance and end all lycans starting with the alpha that took everything from me. "I will make them all pay for their sins." I said, my voice filled with hatred.

"Why?.... why didn't you kill me at the forest when you had all the chance?" she suddenly asked. Her voice had lost its cold edge and sounded more like Lisa's voice than her own. "You could have killed me and you didn't... "why?"

I took a deep breath before answering, because that felt like a deep question.

"the moment I saw your eyes. does blue eyes, they reminded me of Lisa and for a moment I thought I was crazy. But I soon realized that those eye's were exactly like Lisa's, so I couldn't bring myself in hurting you."

With that the tears welding up in her eyes ever since finally fell to her cheeks, leaving a clean line through the dirt on her face. She lowered the dagger slowly and the cold expression on her face was replaced with resolve.

"I will join you," She said.

At first I didn't understand what she meant by that until she continued.

"Together we will find the alpha lycan who killed my sister and her supposed children. And I will drive my silver sword into their hearts. I swear it.

hearing the words came from her and the way she said it reminded me of the words Lisa once said to me the night before we ran away together: wherever you go, I will follow.

"you sound just like her," I said in a whisper. My voice became hoarse. "You sound exactly like lisa."

She tightened her jaw showing her front teeth, before stretching out her hand asking me back for her pendant in a gesture.

I looked at her hand for a long time before handing it back to her. The palm of her hand was covered in blisters from years of fighting lycans with a sword, showing how much she had been through and still kept on fighting anyways.
