Chapter 69 - Chapter 69 Terosi's Plea for Peace

Wolf's Den welcomed an envoy from Tyrosh, a young Magistrate named Aquido, with red hair, a beard, and a Tyroshi pointed hat.

The Tyroshi sent thirty boisterous, flamboyant Tyroshi Mercenaries to escort him, accompanied by three Tyroshi nobles and Attendants transporting supplies.

After being questioned by the scouts, Magistrate Aquido finally entered a camp next to Wolf's Den. Aquido saw the soldiers, spearmen, swordsmen, and also the Attendants, armored taxi soldiers, and information-transmitting taxi soldiers; the soldiers were well-ordered.

"Forgive my intrusion! Magistrate, I am honored to bring you Magistrate Aquido, an envoy from Tyrosh!" Ser Jorah led Magistrate Aquido into the main tent.

"Are you also called Aquido?" In the tent, Gendry looked at the young noble kneeling before him. The Tyroshi were indeed trembling under his pressure and had sent an envoy for peace.

Tyrosh and Myr were already on the brink of war because Tyrosh had also harbored some exiled Myrish Magisters and nobles, hired Mercenaries for war preparations, and was combating slave revolts within the city.

"Yes, Commander-in-Chief!" Aquido replied, not shy about his origins. "Silver Tongue Aquido Adarys, he was my ancestor."

Aquido secretly glanced, seeing the handsome and agile Mercenary King sitting behind the desk, a handsome young man with black hair and blue eyes, as strong and powerful as a leopard.

A white-haired Old Maester sat on a leather folding chair, and there were several Unsullied guards. Jorah, who led them in, also stood to the side.

"I didn't expect the descendant of Silver Tongue to still be around!" The people in the tent were also somewhat surprised.

"I serve as one of Tyrosh's Magistrates, but I am far from my ancestor!" Aquido answered honestly.

"Magistrate Aquido, you represent Tyrosh to discuss urgent matters."

"Yes!" Aquido's heart tightened. Every word he said next could determine Tyrosh's fate. "Before I state my purpose, allow me to present the gifts Tyrosh has prepared for you!"

Magistrate Aquido then answered loudly. "One hundred thousand Tyroshi golden rhombic coins. One hundred barrels of Tyroshi fine pear brandy. One hundred sets of exquisite gold and silver wolf-head armor from Tyroshi craftsmen. In addition, there is a gift you will most appreciate: three heads of the fleeing Myrish Magisters!"

"Thank you for your generosity!" Gendry said. "These gifts sound really good! So what do you want?"

The Tyroshi people are adept at bending and stretching. Although it is a commercial city-state, as a frontline military outpost of Valyria, the city of Tyrosh has a stronger military character than Lys and Myr. The deeds of Silver Tongue are the greatest precedent; Silver Tongue ruled Tyrosh as a tyrant for seven or eight years.

"Peace!" Magistrate Aquido said loudly. "As long as you bring peace to Tyrosh, then Tyrosh can cede the estates and towns in the Disputed Lands to the Wolf Pack, recognizing the Commander-in-Chief's rule over Myr. To show our sincerity, as soon as a formal treaty is signed, Tyrosh will send the Commander-in-Chief ten times this amount in gifts!"

"What if I don't want to?" Gendry looked at Aquido. "If I take Tyrosh, all its wealth will be mine."

"Tyrosh is not like Myr; Tyrosh is not the weak Myr. Mercenaries gather in the city of Tyrosh, Tyroshi armor masters create bizarre and strange armor, and Tyrosh also has sturdy black dragonstone walls! Most importantly, most importantly, the followers of the three-headed god are indomitable!" Aquido used all the courage he had ever possessed, striving to speak fluently.

"Why would the Commander-in-Chief choose a difficult siege and abandon wealth that is within reach?" Aquido said.

"What if I say no?"

"Don't forget, there are so many slaves in the world, can they all be freed? Freeing slaves and leading Targaryen orphans home are both very difficult tasks. For the Commander-in-Chief to accomplish two things simultaneously is a dream, like the revival of Valyria. Why not choose more friends? Decades ago, Volantis had hundreds of thousands of troops and a glorious hegemony, but now it has vanished. If the Commander-in-Chief wages war on all sides, he will eventually become the public enemy of the known world!"

Gendry watched Aquido. Though young, this young man's vision and ability were quite extraordinary.

"Do you know what this is?" Gendry revealed his valyrian steel longsword. "My army is as sharp as this longsword!"

"valyrian steel is sharp and bloodthirsty, one glance is enough to tell!" Aquido said. "Commander Gendry killing me would only make Tyrosh even more impregnable!"

"What a sharp tongue!" Gendry put away his scimitar. "You were ostracized, weren't you!"

"Yes!" Aquido spoke frankly. "Although the Adarys family reached its peak in the hands of my ancestor, it quickly declined. I am also very awkward in the Magistrate council, merely making up the numbers, and not particularly trusted!"

"Tyrosh has a war faction and a peace faction! Which faction are you?"

"The peace faction!" Aquido calmly answered Gendry's question. "The Ninepenny Kings once took Tyrosh; moreover, the Commander-in-Chief's strength already rivals or even surpasses that of the Ninepenny Kings."

"I admire you. If one day you have nowhere to go, you can come and seek refuge with me!"

"Thank you for your generosity, Commander-in-Chief! I hope such a day never comes."

"Alright, Magistrate Aquido, I admit that the gifts you mentioned are somewhat tempting, but they haven't moved me yet!"

"I will convey this message to the Archon, so he can prepare even more generous gifts!" Aquido was overjoyed. Since he was willing to nod, it meant there were conditions for negotiation.

"You can think so! You've had a long journey, go and rest!" Gendry dismissed Magistrate Aquido.

The soldiers led the Tyroshi envoy to a somewhat remote location... "Gather all military commanders!" Gendry ordered. "The time has come for us to take Tyrosh!"

"Yes, Commander-in-Chief!" Qyburn said.

The military meeting of the Wolfpack Army and the Free Army was held in secret.

The Handsome Man, treasurer, Gendry's advisor.

Dick the Fletch, Gendry's advisor.

Maester Qyburn, Maester, intelligence officer, Gendry's mentor.

Longspear, cavalry commander of the Wolf Pack Company.

Steel Fist, infantry commander of the Wolf Pack Company.

Black Billy, archer commander of the Wolf Pack Company.

Gilo Reha, commander of the Spear Company.

Grey Wolf, Unsullied leader, commander of the Royal Guard and commander of the Free Army.

Ser Jorah, commander of the Royal Guard.

"The time for a general offensive has come. The Tyroshi envoy has sent many gifts and messages of peace," Gendry told everyone. "The Tyroshi are known for their greed; if the situation weren't urgent, they wouldn't act like this!"

"Then let's use their own trick against them!" The Handsome Man also said. "The Tyroshi are using gifts to buy time. Once reinforcements from Lys and Volantis arrive, Tyrosh will definitely counterattack Myr!"

"Tyroshi's aid might not be from Lys or Volantis, but from the Khals!" The old but spirited Maester Qyburn said.

"Khals?"

"Precisely! To rescue Tyrosh, only a Khal will do!" Maester Qyburn replied to everyone. "The Lyseni have also taken in Myrish exiles, but the Lyseni Magistrates are indecisive. Attacking Myr from the sea is too difficult, and on land, the Lyseni dare not confront the Free Army. Volantis hasn't even reached election day. As for the iron throne, Old Jon is dead, Stannis has left King's Landing, and King's Landing itself is probably in disarray."

"There is indeed this possibility. For many years, the Magistrates of Myr paid tribute to the Dothraki to avoid plunder." Gilo Reha nodded. "Once the Tyroshi add fuel to the fire, these horse people might indeed come charging!"

"Sirs, the horse people are indeed ferocious! But the Free Army I train, as long as they can maintain the Unsullied formation, are not afraid of horse people plundering!" Grey Wolf said calmly. The Unsullied are most famous for fighting the horse people in the city of the black goat.

"Gentlemen, I have made my decision! To avoid getting bogged down in a three-front war, we must accelerate the attack on Tyrosh!" Gendry announced. "Harris's fleet will blockade Tyrosh. Grey Wolf and Steel Fist will lead the Free Army and a part of the Wolf Pack to prepare for the Khals' plunder. And I will be the general reserve!"

"Three fronts?" Someone didn't understand Gendry's meaning.

"There are also internal enemies in Myr, and there will be people lurking in the shadows!" Gendry said.
