Early in the morning, the imperial training grounds were already crowded.
A large area had been cleared in the centre, and several formations had been arranged around it. More than six imperial mages stood in a wide circle, each of them radiating the aura of a Rank-6 mage.
These were not ordinary court mages. They served directly under the Emperor and were responsible for handling important matters that required the use of powerful magic.
At the centre of the formation sat Kaelan.
His expression was calm, though his eyes occasionally moved toward the enormous Fire Seed floating before him. Even from a distance, its heat was enough to make the surrounding air shimmer. The sheer amount of energy contained within it was frightening, and the mages had to maintain their formations to keep its power under control.
