Chapter 10 - No One Can Level Up Faster Than Me

[Level: 4 (99.00%)]

Morintis looked at his status; he was about to level up again.

Thirteen Skeleton Warriors were slaughtering everything around them, and his experience was steadily rising.

Compared to the previous level, this one was even faster, taking only 50 minutes in total.

"The number of Skeleton Warriors has increased, the monster density is higher, and the killing speed remains unchanged."

"That's why the leveling speed has increased instead of decreasing."

Morintis analyzed his current situation. He had now reached the depths of the starter dungeon, where Level 6 and Level 7 monsters were everywhere. Only the highest-level, Level 8 monsters hadn't appeared yet. The increased monster density here resulted in him gaining experience faster.

The Skeleton Warriors, like tireless elite enforcers, killed monsters with a single slash each, constantly harvesting lives.

The only downside was that monsters in the starter dungeon didn't drop any items. After all, this was a training ground for new class holders to adapt to real combat, quite different from the wilderness. In the starter dungeon, almost all monsters were significantly weakened. Here, only the Level 8 monsters remained unweakened, maintaining strength comparable to their wild counterparts.

By the time one reached Level 8 and faced Level 8 monsters, they should already possess considerable combat experience. And after Level 8, they would leave the starter dungeon. So, the Level 8 monsters served as a transition, allowing new class holders to experience the strength of wild monsters beforehand. This way, they wouldn't be flustered when truly fighting in the wild.

As another pillar of light appeared, Morintis finally reached Level 5.

His attributes increased, and his skills improved. The strength of the Skeleton Warriors also increased accordingly, all their attributes rising by another 100 points.

The Skeleton Warriors didn't stop acting because Morintis leveled up. They continued tirelessly seeking out monsters, killing them instantly with swift sword strokes. From the moment Morintis entered the dungeon, the Skeleton Warriors had never stopped.

"Huh? Leveling has slowed down."

Morintis noticed that after reaching Level 5, the leveling speed decreased significantly. Previously at Level 4, killing one Level 7 Brown Bear granted about 0.2% experience. He only needed to kill 500 to level up. But after reaching Level 5, killing one Level 7 Brown Bear only provided a 0.1% experience increase. That meant he needed to kill 1000 to level up. The leveling speed was halved.

"At this rate, it seems difficult for ordinary class holders to reach Level 12 in just one week."

"Even after leaving the dungeon and heading to the Westsea outskirts, time wouldn't be enough."

"Xiaming Academy is indeed hard to get into. I wonder how my sister managed to reach Level 16 last year."

Morintis calculated mentally. To test for Xiaming Academy, he needed at least Level 12. To reach Level 12 within one week, he needed to reach Level 8 within the starter dungeon in at most three days. After Level 8, he would go to the Westsea City outskirts to hunt higher-level monsters. Only then would it be possible to reach Level 12 within the week. Thinking about it, Morana reaching Level 16 last year was truly an exceptionally fast speed.

Morintis used his skills, depleting his Spirit once again, adding three more Skeleton Warriors. A full sixteen Skeleton Warriors constantly searched for and killed monsters.

For Morintis, the time spent finding monsters far exceeded the time spent killing them. So what if it required killing over 1000 Level 7 monsters? Distributed among sixteen Skeleton Warriors, it wasn't that many. In at most over an hour, he could reach Level 6.

Who told him he had so many enforcers?

Morintis pressed forward continuously. The Skeleton Warriors cleared the path ahead for him, finding and instantly killing all the monsters hiding in the grass.

After walking a bit more, the dungeon's terrain finally changed. The grassland ended, and a forest appeared ahead. Morintis knew this was the end of the starter dungeon. The Level 8 monsters were hidden within this forest.

"It's taken 6 hours and 42 minutes since entering the dungeon, less than 7 hours. Probably only I could reach the dungeon's end this quickly."

Only about 7 hours had passed since the dungeon opened. Most people were probably only around Level 3 by now. Even Sophia would be at most Level 4, perhaps not even that.

Morintis believed his leveling speed was faster than anyone else's.

He continued walking into the forest without stopping, wanting to see how strong the unweakened Level 8 monsters were, and whether they were enough for his Skeleton Warriors to handle. It would also prepare him for his trip to the wilds tomorrow.

The Skeleton Warriors, clearing the path ahead, ran into the forest before Morintis. The sound of clattering bones echoed through the woods as the Skeleton Warriors ran swiftly, searching for monsters.

"No monsters?"

The Skeleton Warriors hadn't found any monsters. Morintis found it strange. He followed them inside.

The moment he stepped into the forest, a tree branch whipped towards him fiercely. The branch, like a long whip, struck Morintis with lightning speed. It was so fast he had no time to react.

The seemingly powerful branch, however, didn't cause Morintis any harm. He didn't feel anything at all, as if an invisible shield protected his body.

Passive Skill: Damage Transfer.

Any damage he received was automatically transferred to his summons. Before his summons were all destroyed, he wouldn't suffer any injury.

It was truly a divine skill, hardly inferior to his Divine-tier Talent.
