Chapter 1 - chapter 1 The voice in the Dark

EPISODE 1 — The Voice in the Dark

They say every wolf feels their wolf-soul inside them—

a warm presence, a heartbeat, a second breath.

I felt none of that.

All my life, I felt something else.

A cold whisper.

A shadow in my bones.

A monster stretching under my skin like it was waiting for the right moment to tear the world apart.

But tonight… the whisper wasn't quiet.

It was screaming.

I tightened my grip on the hay bale as the voice echoed inside my skull, deep and furious:

"Let. Me. Out."

My vision blurred. The stable walls tilted.

Moonlight cut across the floor in sharp, violent lines.

Not again.

I dug my nails into my palms until they bled.

Anything to stay grounded.

"Not now," I hissed under my breath.

"Not tonight."

The voice laughed.

"Tonight is perfect."

Before I could respond, the stable doors slammed open.

I jerked upright—just in time to see Seren, the Alpha's daughter, step inside.

Her silver hair caught the moonlight, her sharp eyes narrowed at me like she could sense something wrong.

"Ash?" She frowned. "Are you okay? You look… pale."

I forced my voice steady.

"I'm fine."

I wasn't.

Because her scent—wildflowers and storm air—hit me like a punch.

Something inside me clawed at my ribs, snarling, desperate.

Seren stepped closer. "Did someone hurt you?"

Her hand reached toward me.

The whisper inside me snapped like a chain breaking.

"Touch her, and I will take over."

I stumbled back so hard I knocked down a bucket.

Seren blinked. "Ash—?"

A scream cut her off.

High. Piercing.

Coming from outside the stable.

Seren spun around instantly. "That's my sister!"

Before she could take a step, a massive rogue wolf crashed into the doorway—

fur matted, eyes glowing with feral hunger.

It lunged at her.

"Seren!" I shouted—

—but she slipped on the hay, falling backward as the rogue's jaws opened wide.

My chest ignited.

My vision exploded into silver and black.

Something inside me snapped free.

A voice roared in my skull, not a whisper anymore, but a thunderous command:

"MOVE."

I didn't think. I didn't breathe.

I shifted.

Not into a wolf.

Into something else.

Something no wolf should ever become.

The ground trembled as shadows crawled over my skin like living fire.

My bones stretched, cracked, reshaped.

My vision turned into a swirl of silver and darkness.

The rogue wolf froze mid-attack—

its body shaking, its tail dropping between its legs as instinct forced it to bow.

Seren stared up at me with wide, terrified eyes.

Not at the rogue.

But at me.

Her lips trembled.

"Ash… what are you?"

The rogue tried to run.

It never got the chance.

I moved faster than thought—

a blur of shadow and power—

and slammed it into the ground with a force that shattered the earth.

It didn't get up again.

Silence fell.

My shadow form stood over its corpse, chest heaving, silver markings glowing across my body like ancient runes awakening.

The voice inside me purred in satisfaction.

"See? We were born for this."

Seren's breathing hitched as she pushed herself back, afraid.

"Ash… your eyes… they're—"

She didn't finish.

Because another figure stepped into the stable doorway.

Her father.

Alpha Ronin.

His gaze swept from the dead rogue…

to Seren on the ground…

to me, still half-shifted into the monster he had spent twenty years trying to erase from history.

His face drained of blood.

"It's him," he whispered.

"The prophecy child. The two-souled wolf."

His voice trembled.

"No… the god-wolf."

Seren's eyes widened in horror as her father stepped forward, drawing a silver blade.

"Kill him," Ronin ordered his guards.

"Before he destroys us all."

And that is how my real life began—

with blood, prophecy, fear…

and the entire world suddenly wanting me dead.
