Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

HEARTFILIA'S POV

I didn't say anything; instead, I immediately grabbed her hair and dragged her out of the comfort room. *A loser, huh?* Fine, let's see who's going to be bald now!

"Ouch! Let go of me!!" screamed Samantha Montana. I tightened my grip on her hair before pushing her into the trash can. A lot of people were watching us, some already taking videos. Looks like I'll be famous again tomorrow!

I sighed, looking at her. It was only a joke; I pulled her hair. Really, I was trying to be good because I didn't want to be called to the admin office again, but fate was testing me too much.

I just smiled at her, then finally left the comfort room. I was still in my right mind; I didn't want to disappoint Dad and Mom. I needed to be a good girl.

If only I hadn't been sent to the office today, I definitely would have done what I was imagining earlier.

When I arrived at my next class, our teacher wasn't there yet. I glanced at the seat of that guy who ruined my day. Good thing he wasn't here yet. I hope he doesn't come in at all.

I sat down and noticed two people busy reviewing who were looking at me.

"What did you two 'spouses' do this time that landed you in the admin office?" Nicole Quintero asked quietly. Yes, the lunkhead and I are 'spouses,' but only on paper. We don't love each other and I will never love him! Over my dead sexy body!

"Exactly! Are you two really losing your minds?" Joseph Herrer added.

"I just punched him because he was arrogant," I answered, annoyed, as I opened my notebook. It should have been two punches, but Mrs. Otero had to show up.

"What did either of you gain? Nothing, right? What will happen when you live under the same roof? We might hear news that one of you is already in the hospital," Nicole preached, sermonizing more than my mom. My mom even supported our marriage to the lunkhead!

"That will absolutely never happen. I will totally give Mom the silent treatment if they ever do that," I replied with utmost seriousness. I already agreed to what they wanted, but they better not give me away to that beast!

I turned toward Joseph as he nudged my arm. He pursed his lips, pointing towards the doorway—Jharied and Samantha entered our room together. That leech was even holding the jerk's arm.

The jerk and I made eye contact as they passed our spot. He smirked; I just raised an eyebrow at him. You can flirt all you want in front of me, I won't be jealous of you two. That self-important leech—she thinks she's so beautiful. She looks like a clump of powder.

I just turned my attention back to reading. I'll gain more from that than from looking at them—it will only ruin my day.

"That witch is so flirtatious. She keeps clinging on to him, and your 'husband'. well, he just loves it," Joseph exclaimed irritably as he stared at the two.

"For your information, bestie, we are married on paper only. We do not feel anything for each other, okay? Let him run around with other women. I just wonder if he will get sick," I replied without taking my eyes off my notebook.

"Idiot," he replied, laughing.

In an instant, the teacher appeared. We immediately straightened ourselves up.

"Miss Mereles, what is ICT?"-the teacher asked immediately, without a good morning.

Huh? Why me right away? She looked at me as if for a recap. I was compelled to get up and answer her question. I even expounded on my answer a bit so as not to ruin her day.

"Very good, Miss Mereles, she said coolly before looking at someone else.

I'm safe; I sat down. I hope the leech gets called on; please call her so her intelligence can be tested.

"Define Information Technology, Mr. Cojuangco."

I looked at him. I raised an eyebrow, because he was looking at me too. He answered Mrs. Dotimas' question—and the girls in the back were swooning. Tch. His question was so easy.

He sat down again and we made eye contact. The lunkhead smirked.

"What do companies do with the information? Miss Montana."

You're dead now; you flirt too much!

"Why me, Ma'am? I don't know the answer," she said rudely--wow Ma'am's nose is practically smoking.

"Get out!" she yelled, pointing to the door.

The whole class was silent, looking at Samantha. There, she thought her cattiness would prevail. Against Ma'am Dotimas? You're just on your way there; she's already coming back.

"Mr. Herrer. Answer the question."

Joseph immediately stood up. Wow, he studied today. He answered with enthusiasm, all smiles. I'll give him a peso later.

"Very good, Mr. Herrer. Don't imitate Miss Montana if you don't want to be sent out. Next meeting, I will call on you again. For those who cannot answer—the door is open."

We were dismissed after her announcement.

"Oh my gosh, my brain cells are stressed," Joseph complained.

"That only means one thing: you need to review every day," Nicole teased.

"Hmph. I hope next time you get called on and you can't answer," Joseph replied.

"Jerk! Keep dreaming," Nicole scoffed.

"My name is Josephine," he told Nicole as he hit her, and she hit him back.

"There you go again-it's like I'm not even sitting here in the middle," I grumbled. They immediately stopped, rolling their eyes at each other.

My phone rang. I checked to see who it was. I looked at the jerk when I saw his name on the screen. He was no longer in his seat. I shrugged before answering.

"You are slow to answer. Come out now. We are being asked to go to our restaurant. Hurry up," he said curtly and hung up.

*The nerve! I haven't even answered, and he hung up right away!*

"I'm going home now, bye." I said, putting on my bag and running out.

When I made it to the back of the building, I looked around before getting into his car.

"You sit here in the front. What am I-your driver?" he grumbled. I shot him a dirty look as I moved to the front.

I slammed the door shut. I could feel him staring at me, but I paid no attention to it.

He speeded up the car. I kept quiet, and I didn't want to talk with that guy. What is he-gold? So should I waste my saliva on him?

Upon arriving at the restaurant—

"Get out," he ordered briefly.

I didn't answer and got out.

"You go first. I don't want to go in at the same time as you-who knows, maybe you have a girl running around here," I said grumpily. He just raised an eyebrow at me. Wow, he really might be gay.

He went in first, and I followed, frowning. What are we even doing here? We could have talked at home. What if somebody recognizes us?

Mom and his Mom waved. Dad wasn't here. What are they up to?

"Oh, why is your face like that, Filia?" Mom asked.

"I'm just not feeling well," I responded as I sat next to the jerk.

Smiling, the jerk's mom said, "We have something to tell you, that's why we asked you both to come here."

I got nervous. Their smiles were strange.

The two mothers looked at each other, both smiling. "You will now live in one house. Our old house is all set. Your things are already there. Here is the key, Jharied," Mom said with a smile.

My jaw dropped.

"What?!
