*Three weeks passed faster than in a blink.
Darian, who was collecting water, noticed his body had changed to a rigid and muscular appearance. His chest, once so soft, had now become broader, his slender arms had become a little stronger, and his hair had grown a little bit, too.*
"Alright, kid! Time for your lesson!" Faelyeen, who was drinking her daily alcohol quota, jumped from the tree and walked toward Darian.
"What lesson?" Darian looked at Faelyeen with suspicion. "More running or tree climbing, or eating bugs?"
"Still vile as ever, bastard fine anyway, didn't you where eger to learn archery?"
Darian straightened up. "Finally deciding to teach me something useful ?"
"Well, let me show you something first."
Faelynn took a bow and arrow. She nocked an arrow, charged it, and closed her eyes.
She opened her eyes; her original eye color had turned blue. She averted her eyes to the nearest tree
twang...
The arrow traveled in a flash, whistling in the air, and impaled a fruit in mid-air.
Darian, who saw this, opened his mouth. "What the hell was that that wasn't normal, and what the hell happened to your eyes before shooting?"
"It's called a mana gaze, kid," she said while her eyes faded back to normal as she lowered the bow.
"Mana gaze, what does it have to do with archery?"
"Hehe, glad you asked, kid."
She walked over to a patch of dirt and picked up a stick. "Mana Gaze is a technique that uses the eyes to gaze into the mana of everything. And I mean everything."
"Everything?" Darian asked with confusion, even Min Jun, who knew nothing, couldn't understand what the elf was saying.
"Yeah, everything. Look here."
She begins to draw a tree: "See, kid, this is a tree". And after that, she drew distinct lines inside it.
"What's that ?"
"Oh, these lines are mana flow."
"Mana flow? "Darian asked with a puzzled look.
"Yeah. The tree takes mana from the ground and the roots, and it travels upward to the leaves. It's like blood, but energy," he could get somewhat of an idea what she was saying because of his modern-day plant knowledge.
She pointed toward the tree where she had just shot the fruit. " I aimed and shot, too, and had mana flow connecting itself to the tree when it was about to fall. I sensed the mana wavering with mana gaze, then bang!"
"Everything in this world revolves and and connected to mana, air, earth, water, rain, sky, everything !. "
"Humans, too, possess mana, and with the mana gaze, I can see them and detect their emotions if they are gonna attack or not."
"Hmmm. Interesting," Darian muttered, rubbing his chin. "So it's a cheat code for aiming."
"Not just aiming. Identification," Faelynn corrected. "Not just mana, but the types of it too.
"Types?" He asked her with interest.
Faelyeen continues with her lecture, " Mana is colorless, but it develops a colour by how you use it and how you interpret mana. Like mine, which is green, which is close to nature; mainly, spiritualists and tamers have green elves have green colour because of our closeness to nature."
Mages usually have the Blue color because of their distinct cultivation technique, called mana circleing,
"Paladins and Priests have a golden colour, which is developed by the influence of faith and the blessings they call 'divine mana' or 'Divinity'. "
"Lastly, for warriors like your father, Deric, and fighters, they call mana Aura, which looks Red or Orange. Which mana is compressed or forced into the body or weapon, powerful strikes or punches."
"Every technique is in contradiction to each other, making a person unable to use all three, but there are people with exceptions, like a swords mage who can use auro and mana, but they seem rare."
"So I, too, have mana, huh?" he asked with curiosity in his eyes.
"Yes...," her cheerful face turned off.
"What colour is it?" Darian's face gleamed with curiosity.
"It's..... It's black!"
Darian blinked. "Black? Why is that? Is it rare?"
Faelynn's expression was unreadable."No. It's not about its rarity."
Faelyeen took a deep breath and answered.
"It means you are dead."
