Chapter 9 - New Reincarnation of God.

The war shafts in the sky lined up like a battalion, falling down, hailing fire. The people standing beneath were afraid and conjured by the wrath. The closer they came, the faster their beats became. But the irony was, they doubted who would be saved by the White revenant. It was somewhat a misjudgment towards their saviour and could also be called their spineless Outlook. Answering: Revenant flew high, gazing right back at the flames, sending tremendous shockwaves towards the tiny darts through his sickle. The energy was clearly amusing as a simple swing extinguished the shafts. Not only were they extinguished but even their existence vanished from the sky. But Leon was more interested in the reincarnation capable of releasing such a drastic amount of shafts in a single go.

Another wave of arrows, a few of which blasted off in the sky like a skyrocket, decorating the beauty with shiny sparks. Some exploded to give a turquoise blue glow in concentric rings, while some were more of scarlet, amber and jade. The fierce crackers disguised as arrows were delighting the scene for many, but the aftermath of the sparks was deadly flames and fire. Revenant shook another wave of shafts pointing straight at him. He knew the foe was stronger on the longer range, so getting closer was the utmost priority. But where was he? Where were the shafts released from?

Slithering through the dark alleys and breaking through the house doors, Revenant tried to escape the enemy's vision. But the shafts didn't cease and kept on looming. Just when he escaped a small stable, a shaft tracing him burned it down with a huge glowing pop.

Down went another house….

Yet another slightly after….

"This bastard is surely at northeast locus, that explains why he can see me so effectively" Leon thought

As the sun was about to rise, the best view one could get was from the prayer house. With each ray coming to play the revelation would be advantageous for the foe. So the northeastern direction around the prayer house was perfect.

"Revenant you can do it" a small weak voice shouted

The strife was strict, and thus the revenant made an intentional move. Piercing his way straight to the prayer house through two closely aligned bricked edifices, he hesitated.

Two bow shafts straight beside him, one on either side, froze thorned ice that pierced through the abdomen. Revenant was blocked with each move inflicting heavy damage. But now he was sure ... .he was sure about the enemy's location. Twisting his body, slashing open his belly even more, he crunches back swinging his sickle, breaking the ice.

The foe was shocked

"That devilish entity is crazy" he exclaimed.

He was searching…. Searching for the Revenant. This was the only thing he wished shouldn't happen. The moment he let his eye get off the Revenant the game was already over. Still clenching his bow harder, spectating in every direction he quarrelled with his own mind.

"I can sense him"....

"He is there near the perfumist"

"Wait… now I can sense him through the prayer house"

"Now it's gone. His existence is gone. Is he fondling me?"....

Right there in the very next instance revenant flashed from the corner of his eyes. His legs were vaporising sweat as the bursting jump radiated energy. His hand holding the firm sickle, his body levitating mid air ready to dominate the enemy with Judgemental slash. Down it came casting off blood boiling air squash. The foe was dragged back an inch, alive just because the revenant held back his attack. Indeed it wasn't the revenant, it was Leon who held back the attack. The foe was captain of "Orders of Day Embers", Silas. Complication of love towards Liora, fondled his decision. The fact solemnly stunned Leon, he wasn't left vulnerable, but still a little daunted for Liora.

"Who are you?" Leon asked, playing safe.

"I'm Silas…. Silas Gobewinger"

"What do you say about this mess? I know your flames are commandable, as it only hurts the one you choose, but still, wasn't it too much?"

"You really are appreciative. You noticed this fact within this rulkus, that's amusing"

"Answer the question" Revenant held sickle tighter, threatening Silas.

"Not afraid to die, Revenant. I did this only because I wanted to make the Order of Day Embers solemn organisation, functioning on the peak of life in ascension"

"I'm not a fool, Silas" the revenant gazed, deeper into the ignorant pupil of the foe "I could sense the emotion of revenge through every attack of yours"

"Ha….hahaha…." He laughed and quarrelled harder "I guess I know why people are so attracted to your presence. You are a great deal of wisdom, and trust me when I say this, you are quite on mark. Every sync of the strings in my bow vibrated just to burn you to ashes revenant. It was a sense of pure wraith and revenge"

"And…." Revenant gave a slight smile "what fueled it?"

"Cause you killed my brother. The only man who truly supported me and helped me out of my traumatized childhood. Among the vanguards who died under your reckless massacre in Canals of lights, one among them was my brother. Now, don't you think my reasoning is justified, Revenant?"

"Hmm…." He thought, disarrayed into the repeating tales of people "In the same Canals of Light, I lost my parents. And guess who killed them, those vanguards wielding high Elixir weapons against harmless innocents. Now you tell me captain, wasn't my act justified. I was a mere child born a few days ago and yet my welcome wasn't with love and sympathy, but with bloodshed. I was going to kill every inch of vanguardial aura in this town, but that's when I was introduced to the story of a young man. A man who sacrificed himself for weaker ones. That is when I realised that this world still has hopes left. That is how I slowly got a family I needed to care for. So…. My plan is absolute. Destroy the Ascensions from the rotten end. To be precise, my first step would be to kill Tistra, and then head higher. You, the captain of Order of Day Embers… are you willing to help the Revenant? If yes, this world shall obey our decree together- but if no, the ones against my omnipotent power shall perish"

"So…." A precise strike from the Revenant knocked Silas unconscious.

The dark haze curtained by the eyelids was unveiled right during the sunrise. He was in the lair of Order of Day Embers, closer to the large glassy shades that peeps towards the tall prayer house. Looking outside, he found heavy petrol raised on the area impacted by the brawl. Vanguards with their beautiful glittered shield and gliding unicorn they ride on were clearly visible. Some were hindering around trying to smell the trace of footprints with the guard Fang-beasts. Some were inspecting the people who saw the tidy showpiece. Only the defeat of the foe echoed around and another triumph of Revenant was listed.

Someone killed by Revenant was only left with dampness on the crime scene, which eventually vapourises after an hour. Consequently, the evidence vanishes too. So the conclusion of these cases were often left untouched.

Silas was partially in debt to Revenant, due to the mercy he showed. He would never befriend Revenant, but he never thought his hate would fade with mere words.

"Maybe not a friend… but an ally doesn't sound too bad" he smirked, looking at the beautiful sunrise, pouring himself beer.
