"That's not true!" Calen protested. "I will protect her! I will fight for her! What do you even do besides sleeping all day?"
"I watch over her," Luan replied calmly.
The two of them glared at each other, sparks almost flying between their eyes.
Roxanna let out a tired sigh. "Enough," she said, pressing a hand to her temple. "Both of you."
"You're arguing over something pointless," she continued. "Alright, none of you will be coming with me."
Roxanna then set Luan down on the ground, and the black cat immediately protested. "What? That's not fair! Why are you punishing me because of this dog?!"
"Because you're being mean again, Luan," Roxanna said calmly. "Like I told you before, don't say hurtful things to your family."
Luan froze for a moment. His ears drooped slightly, and his tail slowed its movement.
