Roxanna hadn't expected the people of the Vexaria Tribe to hold a welcoming party for her. Since the ceremony no longer included dangerous games like gladiator fights, everyone simply gathered to share food and drink liquor made from fermented grapes.
She couldn't help wondering how they already knew how to make liquor, yet somehow had never thought of roasting meat.
But then again… in a world as frightening as this, alcohol was probably something people turned to so they could cope with fear and trauma. If not, they might end up falling into the "Feral Phase," like Commander Marlow.
Speaking of him, Marlow looked much calmer when he wasn't acting as commander. Maybe it was also because he was finally free to drink liquor, since he didn't have to stay alert all the time anymore.
