Chapter 164 - Chapter 164: Starry Eyes Devouring and the Doomsday Alliance

The Shock and Division of the Inheritors

In the crevice of the void dimension, far removed from the battlefield, the five Stellar Inheritors—who had been silently watching like an audience at a play—could no longer maintain complete calm.

Casa del's soulfire, formed of pure energy, throbbed and flickered violently, as though it might explode at any moment, brimming with incredulous rage:

"Damn it! How is this possible?! How could Fa voluntarily hand over control of her body to that thing?! Lantiss, Villanette, Saladin, and Rhea Medusa! We have to act immediately to stop this! That consciousness… it's Zhou Weixi! The fourth bearer of the Stellar Eye! The one who most despises life and order! If it completely seizes the Stellar Eye, everything will perish!"

Lantiss's island-sized dragon-turtle body stirred restlessly, causing waves in the surrounding void's moisture. His deep voice carried unprecedented urgency and solemnity:

"A great catastrophe has descended! Zhou Weixi—the lunatic who once tried to reverse-devour the stellar origin to achieve his own eternity—is extremely dangerous and purely evil! Once it stabilizes its existence, the entire Muret Continent will become nourishment for restoring its power! We must intervene at once and stop it!"

Ancient water runes around him ignited as immense energy gathered, preparing to forcibly breach the dimensional barrier and descend into the material plane's battlefield.

"Stop, old turtle." Saladin's low, supremely dignified voice rang out, carrying an unquestionable absolute rationality.

"Do not forget the 'Primal Covenant' we swore. We were chosen by the Heart of the Stars; our duty is to observe and guide the progress of civilizations—not to directly interfere in the workings of the world. Unless it involves the ultimate crisis of the plane itself collapsing, we absolutely cannot meddle in the critical choices of civilization. This moment has not yet crossed that final line."

Villanette's twelve wings, black as midnight, gently stirred. Her ice-blue eyes reflected the cold silver-white pupils of "Fa" below. Her ethereal, indifferent voice seemed to drift from distant star oceans:

"What Saladin says is the trajectory of fate. Though violently disturbed by this variable, the threads of destiny have not yet completely severed. Zhou Weixi's emergence, extreme as it is, still lies within the scope of 'possibility.' If we forcibly intervene, the chain reactions we trigger may lead to even more unpredictable and total collapse."

"Hahahaha! Splendid! Truly splendid!" Rhea Medusa burst into excited laughter.

"I knew this drama wouldn't be so simple! That madman Roman created that thirteen-element monster, yet inside the Star Daughter slumbered Zhou Weixi! Now things are getting interesting! Saladin and Villanette are right—we should just watch! I want to see how Roman deals with the catastrophe he himself ignited this time! Will his insane utopia shatter like glass before Zhou Weixi's absolute power?"

Casa del's soulfire nearly erupted as he roared:

"You all! Are you really going to stand by and watch it devour Fa's consciousness and reduce this world to nothing?! Is this what you call observation and guidance?!"

Lantiss let out a heavy, thunder-like growl; the runes on his shell flickered erratically, clearly in strong disagreement with Saladin's decision.

Saladin's voice remained calm yet carried ultimate authority, like the laws of the cosmos themselves:

"The Covenant supersedes individual will. Moreover, the Star Daughter's own consciousness has not been completely extinguished—she is still resisting. This is both her tribulation and perhaps her opportunity for nirvana and rebirth. We… can only watch quietly."

The argument among the five Inheritors unfolded in a higher dimension and did not affect the battle below in the slightest. In the face of absolute disparity in power, all resistance from the Chaos Beast appeared pale and laughable.

Crushing and Devouring

Driven mad by the pain of its severed claw and primal fear, the Chaos Beast completely lost control. The thirteen mutually conflicting elemental forces within its body lost balance and rampaged like wild horses off the reins. It opened several maws filled with sharp teeth and simultaneously spewed composite energy torrents—scorching plasma breath, absolute-zero cold currents, corrosively toxic waterfalls, mind-rending psychic shrieks, purifying holy light incineration, light-devouring shadow surges… all utterly opposing yet equally lethal, converging into one annihilating wave that surged toward the motionless "Fa (Zhou Weixi)."

"Fa (Zhou Weixi)" remained unmoving. In her silver-white eyes, countless fine data-like streams flashed at blinding speed, as though in a billionth of a second she had already fully analyzed every incoming energy's structure, weakness, and conflict point.

She merely raised her left hand gracefully, fingers spreading.

A tiny yet profoundly deep black point appeared silently before her palm, warping and collapsing light itself. All the terrifying energy torrents—regardless of their properties—were forcibly twisted, compressed, and elongated by an indescribable, irresistible absolute gravitational field the moment they approached, ultimately drawn in like rivers returning to the sea, swallowed completely without raising the slightest ripple, as though they had never existed.

The Chaos Beast's assault stopped abruptly. Its massive body visibly shrank from the instantaneous massive energy loss; its form grew unstable, edges beginning to blur and dissipate.

"Chaotic, disorderly energy piling; crudely constructed models; laughably poor control." The cold voice of "Fa (Zhou Weixi)" rang out again, laced with undisguised contempt as though regarding worthless scrap.

"Not even worth much as low-grade sustenance."

She finally took her first step forward. The silver-white light in her right eye suddenly blazed like a supernova.

Time stripping, spatial prison!

In an instant, the space around the Chaos Beast was brutally severed from the current spacetime continuum by an invisible force, forming an absolutely isolated transparent cubic prison edged with eerie runes. Inside, time accelerated to an unimaginable degree. The already unstable thirteen elemental energies, deprived of external reference and balance, collided, annihilated, and self-devoured at exponential speed under billions-fold time acceleration!

The Chaos Beast unleashed a piercing, agony- and terror-filled wail. Its body shattered layer by layer from the microscopic level, like a fragile specimen thrown into an ultra-high-speed particle collider! Hard metallic scales peeled, melted, vaporized; boiling lava instantly cooled, solidified, and exploded into dust; vibrant vines withered, carbonized, and scattered with the wind; lethal venom evaporated; light and shadow forces mutually annihilated into nothingness…

"Fa (Zhou Weixi)" watched coldly, as though observing a tedious experiment. Yet in the silver-white glow of her left eye, a faint crimson flicker—completely incongruous with the surrounding cold silver—appeared for a split second. She seemed to have detected an unexpected parameter.

She murmured, her voice carrying the first trace of chilling "interest," like discovering a new toy:

"Interesting… The original twelve fundamental elemental constants were unexpectedly mixed with a thirteenth… the element of 'blood.' … An unanticipated variable gain. The Law of Blood, linked to life cycles and soul entropy increase… perhaps it can optimize absorption efficiency… perfect."

Stellar Eye · Origin Extraction!

Her left eye (originally containing the twelve attributes) instantly became a cosmic-scale vortex core, erupting with a terrifying suction capable of devouring stars! The colossal Chaos Beast—Roman and Dr. Zheng's painstaking creation, fused with thirteen elements—melted and decomposed like wax under heat, reduced to thirteen pure foundational energy torrents, including a faint yet stubbornly persistent blood-colored current. Like rivers to the sea, they were forcibly stripped and drawn, pouring endlessly into "Fa (Zhou Weixi)"'s body!

The process was so fast it exceeded all biological visual and cognitive limits. In less than half an hour, under countless horrified gazes, the mountain-sized beast that had brought endless despair and death shrank madly, disintegrated, and finally vanished completely—leaving not a trace of energy residue or material remnant, as if erased and formatted from the world's database entirely.

"Fa (Zhou Weixi)" gently closed her eyes, seemingly savoring and analyzing the newly integrated power. For the first time, an extremely faint yet bone-chilling "satisfaction" appeared on her face.

"Though the energy purity is low and the structure crude, the sheer volume is considerable… barely sufficient as preliminary awakening sustenance."

Roman's Despair and Confession

Roman collapsed to his knees with a thud amid the shattered fortress ruins in the distance. The madness, confidence, and obsession that once defined him were gone, replaced by endless pallor, bone-deep shock, and an icy current of "despair" that froze his limbs. His lifelong pursuit—the perfect creation, the ultimate weapon meant to cleanse the world and reshape order—proved, before "Fa (Zhou Weixi)," not even a toy, merely "crude nourishment"!

He jerked his head up, staring into the cold silver-white eyes of "Fa (Zhou Weixi)" as they slowly swept across the surviving Alliance and Doomsday Rebirth forces. That gaze held pure, utter indifference—as though regarding energy bodies ripe for harvest.

An unprecedented chill gripped Roman's heart, nearly suffocating him. He suddenly realized how laughable and insignificant his plans, ambitions, and ideals were before this ancient, incomprehensible terror! The true, absolute apocalypse was not his New World plan, but this ultimate monster he had indirectly "released" by pushing her onto the battlefield!

Survival instinct, combined with a twisted, unwilling refusal to let his life's work become another's meal, overwhelmed everything. He raised his head and, disregarding all else, screamed desperately toward the Alliance direction—toward Queen Sylvia Sunshine and the Alliance's position—with every ounce of strength, voice distorted by extreme panic and urgency:

"Sylvia! Everyone in the Alliance! Listen to me! We must stop all hostility and wariness right now! Look clearly at what stands before us! That is no longer the Star Daughter! It is a madman from ancient times who once held the Stellar Eye but ultimately fell! It will destroy everything here! Destroy the entire Muret Continent!"

His words exploded like thunder in every survivor's ears, drawing countless stunned gazes.

"It now occupies the Star Daughter's body and has preliminarily fused with the Stellar Eye's power! Devouring the Chaos Beast was merely to replenish basic energy and stabilize its existence in this spacetime! Next, it will devour us! Every living being still containing energy and life essence! Every soldier, king, civilian, magical beast on this battlefield—living or dead—is its food! No one escapes! No one!"

Queen Sylvia Sunshine's expression changed drastically. Her Silver Moon Pupils locked onto Roman, then incredulously toward the increasingly unfathomable, terrifying "Fa (Zhou Weixi)" in the distance. She shouted sternly, voice trembling slightly:

"Roman! What new trick are you playing?! Isn't this disaster simply your monster running amok?! Are you trying to make us drop our guard?!"

The other eight kings were equally wary and distrustful.

Nuti Ursa roared back: "Don't even think of deceiving us again, you lunatic! We won't fall for it!"

Secret Forging Titan bellowed: "Your monster was just slaughtering our warriors! Now you want to ally? Dream on!"

Aldrich suppressed his shock and said gravely: "Is this another scheme of yours? Using us to eliminate Fa, then striking again?"

Fish Queen Maris's waters rippled: "The wisdom of the sea tells me not to trust a traitor's words lightly."

Soul King Erebus's soulfire flickered: "A traitor's words hold no credibility!"

Wyrselon's chains clanged: "The firmament bears witness—your ideals have burst like foam."

Mandras sneered coldly: "The dark night never cooperates with utter madmen."

The Ancient Armor Elder sighed and shook his head: "Ancestral wisdom warns me this is very likely a deadly trap."

"No! It's not a trap! This time it's really not!" Roman shrieked hysterically in rebuttal, his face twisting from extreme fear, urgency, and a kind of awakening.

"I admit it! The Chaos Beast was my creation—my failed work! But this thing! This 'Fa (Zhou Weixi)'! Its origin far exceeds your imagination! It's older than any recorded civilization in our history!"

He took a deep, shuddering breath, as if squeezing every last bit of air from his lungs, and shouted at maximum speed and hoarseness, trying to force the information into everyone's minds:

"Do you know why I pursued ultimate power so insanely? Why I spared no cost researching stellar fragments? Not just to create a so-called new world! It was also to fight! To fight against this threat lurking in history's shadows—one capable of destroying everything!"

"Twenty-seven years ago! After that damned war ended, to escape the endless nightmares and utter disillusionment with humanity it brought, I fled alone overseas. By chance—or rather, cursed guidance—I discovered a lone isle at the heart of the raging ocean vortex! Beneath it, in an ancient ruin, was recorded more than five thousand years of Muret Continent history!"

His words carried a strange magic, instantly seizing everyone's attention—even the distant "Fa (Zhou Weixi)" seemed to pause her next move, her cold silver-white eyes turning toward him indifferently, as though watching a dying worm's final, futile attempt at information transmission, tinged with near-pitying mockery.

"The stone tablets recorded that every three to five hundred years, a fated individual bearing the 'Stellar Eye' is born. They usually gather scattered stellar fragments and become saviors guiding the era… but there is a tiny yet fatal possibility: unable to withstand the massive information flood of the origin power, or eroded by unimaginable external forces, they ultimately… become destroyers of the world!"

"And those past holders who fell—or tried to reverse-devour the stars for personal eternity—their lingering consciousnesses did not fully dissipate into the heavens and earth! They lurk in the gaps and shadows of stellar laws, like the most patient, venomous hunters, always waiting for the chance to seize the next Stellar Eye holder's body and power, achieving true, complete resurrection and immortality!"

Roman's voice trembled with fear as he pointed sharply at "Fa (Zhou Weixi)":

"The tablets clearly recorded four successful possessions! Muret Year 861, 1987, 3047, and 4235! Each successful takeover triggered global mass extinctions! Swallowing countless lives and brilliant civilizations! Only through intervention by powerful beings from beyond the world, or by using ultimate weapons left from previous eras, were those possessed 'Stellar Eyes'—along with their hosts—barely sealed or exiled to the void, allowing the world to narrowly escape!"

"I founded the Doomsday Rebirth organization and frantically researched gene fusion, energy tech, and magic origins—all to gain power capable of resisting such existences! I wanted to unite the world's strength before the true apocalypse arrived and forge our own 'ultimate weapon'! I even thought… of becoming the new, absolutely rational 'god' to rule everything and eliminate any possibility of possession! But I never imagined… it would come so soon! And never imagined… it had been lurking all along… inside this generation's Stellar Eye daughter!"

Roman's voice sharpened with agitation:

"I was wrong! My methods may have been extreme and cruel, but my ultimate goal from the beginning wasn't merely domination! Sylvia! Nuti! Titan! Aldrich! And all the warriors of every race! Our hatreds are utterly insignificant before the true, world-devouring apocalypse! If we don't unite now, all of us—along with everything this world has ever known—will become its appetizers! Afterward it will devour the planet's every energy source, then move to the next world! This is the prophecy inscribed in the deepest part of that ancient ruin, marked with countless warning runes!"

His words tolled like the heaviest, most despairing evening bell, resounding in every survivor's heart. Though it sounded absurd—like the ravings of a madman—seeing the increasingly terrifying "Fa (Zhou Weixi)" in the distance, who had just casually devoured the Chaos Beast as a snack, combined with the soul-deep, unfeignable fear and despair in Roman's voice, no one could fully doubt him anymore. A deeper, bone-chilling cold replaced hatred for Doomsday Rebirth, spreading across the battlefield.

The Alliance's nine kings exchanged rapid glances. With leaders' decisiveness and crisis instinct, they all saw the same crushing pressure, disbelief, and final consensus in each other's eyes—they must first confront this ultimate threat.

Queen Sylvia Sunshine took a deep breath, forcing calm, and her voice carried by magic across the battlefield, clear and resolute:

"Roman! We temporarily accept your account! But this does not mean the Alliance forgives your past crimes! If we survive this catastrophe, you will pay the due price for everything you've done! Now, tell us—how do we fight it?! Do the ancient ruins record any weaknesses or countermeasures?!"

A bitter, mad expression flashed across Roman's face as he rasped:

"Price? If we live, dispose of me as you will! Weakness? The ruins only vaguely recorded that even when possessed, the Stellar Eye host's core consciousness never fully extinguishes—this is the only possible flaw! Attack it! With everything, no matter the cost—full-force assault! Force it to expend power continuously; perhaps… just perhaps… it will create a sliver of gap for the Star Daughter's own consciousness to break free! This is the only faint hope! Beyond that, only power! Absolute power to confront it! No other way!"

The Beginning of the End

The moment Roman's words fell, "Fa (Zhou Weixi)"—who had been quietly "listening" as though enjoying an insect's dying struggle—curled her lips into an extremely cold, endlessly mocking and cruel arc.

"Ruins? The ancient scribbles of insects are mildly amusing. Unfortunately, that information won't save your lives."

She slowly raised both hands. Her left eye pure silver-white; in the depths of her right eye's silver, that eerie crimson glow grew more distinct, like blood droplets slowly diffusing in water.

"Devouring that mongrel inferior creation restored a bit of my interest. Very well—let the feast begin."

"Which side first? Hm… shall we start with the twenty-eight thousand slightly stronger energy signatures of the 'Alliance Army' over there, or the fifteen thousand defective remnants of the 'Doomsday Rebirth Army'?"

Her hands pressed downward—like a god pressing the delete key.

The starry sky - an endless stripping away!

Instantly, with her at the center, a vast domain impossible for human vision to accurately capture—distorting light, space, and even cognition—exploded outward, instantly engulfing the entire Eternal Frost Wasteland battlefield! Every living being within the domain—Alliance or Doomsday Rebirth—felt their vitality, mana, battle qi, soul essence… everything constituting "existence" forcibly torn from their bodies by an irresistible, undefendable terror!

Visible to the eye, countless streams of multicolored energy threads were ripped from every soldier—even every corpse—converging like myriad brooks into a river, surging desperately toward the silver-white figure hovering in the air!

Screams, wails, and despairing prayers rang to the skies, only to rapidly weaken and vanish, because even the strength and will to make sound were being swiftly stripped and devoured! Bodies crumbled like wind-eroded sand sculptures; lives flickered out like candles blown by a gust.

The apocalypse—the true, indiscriminate, all-encompassing end—had descended. The surviving Alliance and Doomsday Rebirth forces, facing this absolute, suffocating despair, saw all hatred and conflict rendered pale and laughable. They were forced onto the same crumbling raft. And their enemy was only one—

The one who was once the light of hope, now become the ultimate, deepest despair: Fa (Zhou Weixi).
