Chapter 18 - First Mission

After handing out the healing potions to the elves, Eon stepped back and watched. The liquid was clear with a green tint, smelled like fresh cut grass mixed with dirt. They drank it down quick, some making faces at the bitter taste.

Right away, changes were seen on their body.

Skin that was pale and splotchy got color back. Bruises faded like old ink washing off. Small cuts sealed up, skin pulling together smooth. One elf, a tall guy with scars on his arms, touched his skin and whispered, "It's gone... the pain's gone."

Verra rubbed her back where the whip marks used to burn. Most were vanished now, just faint pink lines left. "I feel... lighter," she said, voice soft, eyes wet with tears.

Loreth hugged her mother's saying. "Mother, you look better!"

Not all wounds gone completely though. Some deep ones stayed, like the burn on Elsa's shoulder, it turned lighter but still there, like a reminder.

Eon knew his potions weren't perfect yet. Skill too low, ingredients not enough. But it was a good start. Most of the Elves stood taller now, eyes brighter. They looked like people ready to fight, not broken slaves anymore.

One of the elves spoke with wonder in his eyes," how can this happen. No potion should be this effective. Even the elixir our wizards used to create were not this potent. How can you have this type of potion in this quantity?!"

Elsa dismissed him saying, "we will tell you all about it, when the time is right. For now just do as Eon says. By this point you must have guessed Eon is the only one who can give us a future better than that dungeon cell. If anyone doesn't like the idea of following Eon's lead, there is main gate. You can leave right now. But if you stay, your future won't be have any chains attached to your neck, that's for sure."

Eon spoke up right after her, " I cannot promise any extravagant future or any rewards for following me, but what I can tell you is, Right now I am only one who hold's the ability to change your future."

Every elves were nodding to that. After some glancing at each other all of them nodded at him.

Some were even saying," we couldn't even see the sky for 10 years. We would follow even a demon if we have to at this point, if they promise us a better life than this. Why wouldn't we follow you!"

Eon nodded. "Good. Now come to the main hall. We should talk."

They followed him up the stairs. House was quiet now, no more shouts or running feet. Bodies of dead Denares soldiers lay in the halls, blood sticky on the floor. Elves stepped over them careful, faces hard and angry. Some kicked the bodies light as they passed, small revenge.

In the main hall, Eon had already set things up. A man sat in the middle, bound tight with ropes around wrists and ankles. He was skinny, sharp face, fancy clothes like a butler. But his pants had a dark stain spreading, smell of piss strong. He had wet himself from fear. His eyes darted wild, face pale as milk, sweat dripping down.

Next to him stood the old butler of the count house. Hans. Gray hair thin, wrinkled face, but eyes sharp like knives. He had helped Eon catch this guy. Hans looked at Eon, nodded slow. "This is Renn. The one the brothers left to run the place. Thinks he's the new boss."

Eon walked up, pulled the gag from Renn's mouth rough. Renn gasped, coughing hard.

"Please... don't kill me...have mercy..." Renn begged, voice high and breaking. "I'm just a pawn! Those brothers hired me! I didn't want this! I'll tell you everything! Please just let me live!"

Renn's face was twisted in terror, eyes bulging. He had seen Eon and Hans kill the guards like they were nothing. Guards screaming, bodies falling, blood spraying, It left him shaking fear for his own life.

Eon crossed arms, face calm. "Talk then. Everything about the Denares."

Renn nodded fast, words spilling out. "Alaric is the head, smart one, plans all the dirty deals. Darius is the muscle, likes hurting people, especially women. They got a sister... Elora. Young girl, twenty maybe. They love her crazy. Spoiled her rotten."

"Hmm. tell me about that girl. Can I use her as a bargaining cheat if I were to have her as a hostage?" Eon asked with a dark grin.

Hearing this Hans and Renn both of their mouth opened wide in awe of his boldness.

Renn gulped before speaking," She's out today for horse lessons. At the old meadow east of their lands. Small guard with her, ten men at most. She goes every week same time."

Eon listened close, eyes narrowing. Horse lessons. Out in open. Small guard. Perfect chance.

He looked at the elves. "We kidnap her. Use her to get Teressa back."

Hans stepped forward quick, face red. "No! That's death wish! The brothers are insane about that girl. Touch her, and they won't stop. They'll hunt every elf, burn everything. Everytbody in the kingdom knows how possessive they are. Even if we need leverage, avoid her. Find another way!"

Eon shook his head. "If she's that precious, she's the best tool. They won't risk her. If we want Teressa before they do something worse to her then We have to take her, send a note: Teressa unhurt or Elora dies."

Hans grabbed Eon's arm, voice loud. "Boy, listen! I saw Darius kill a lord once for just looking at Elora wrong. This invites hell!"

Eon pulled away gently. "Hell is already here. We go now or loss Teressa, your choice."

Hans sighed deep, shoulders dropping. "Fine. But I'm coming. To save madam Teressa I have to keep you alive."

Eon nodded. "Good. Elsa, Verra, you too. And you…" he pointed at a young elf boy his age, strong build, silver hair like Elsa's. "Name?"

"Liam," the boy said, voice steady, face serious.

"You come too. With this Small group we can Move fast."

They prepared quick. Grabbed cloaks from closets, swords and daggers from dead guards. Eon made more potions in the kitchen, strength boosters for the ride, pain blockers just in case. Elves drank them down, faces getting more determined, their eyes shined with new energy.

At the stables, they took the fastest horses. Brown ones with white spots, strong legs, manes flowing. Eon stared at one. "I don't know how to ride."

Elsa smiled a little, face soft. "Sit with me then."

Eon climbed up behind her awkwardly. His arms went around her waist to hold on. The horse started moving, the road was bumpy. Winds flowed past them like they were riding a fast car, not that Eon had ever rode any back at earth.

Elsa's body pressed back at him more and more. Her soft butt right against his crotch. He felt heat rush to his face, body reacting strangely. Elsa flushed too, cheeks turning pink, but she didn't say a word. Just held the reins tighter, focused on the path. Eon shifted a little, trying not to think about it, but the ride made it hard. The warmth of her, the way she moved with the horse... it was distracting.

They rode through woods, avoiding main roads. Hans led the way, knowing the paths from old days. "Meadow two hours east. We hit them quick."

Eon nodded, wind whipping his hair. His mind on the plan. This had to work. For Teressa. For the elves. For their freedom.

The meadow was open and green, grass waving in the wind, small stream sparkling under the sun.

They found her quickly. It wasn't hard to find her as she was a beauty.

Elora was there on a white horse, laughing high and clear. She was too much pretty for her own body, long black hair flowing, red dress bright. Her teacher, old man with gray beard, showed her how to jump a low fence. Ten guards around, armor shining, swords at sides, faces bored but watchful.

Eon and his group hid in the trees at the edge. "Wait for my signal," Eon whispered, voice low.

Hans shook his head again. "This is madness."

Eon ignored him. He drank a strength potion, felt immense power flow through his veins like fire. Muscles tensed, ready. "Now."

They charged out on horses, hooves thundering on the grass. Guards saw them first, eyes wide in surprise.

"Intruders! Protect Lady Elora!"

The teacher grabbed Elora's reins, his face became pale suddenly. "My lady, ride! Ride away!"

But it was too late. Eon's group was on them fast.

First guard ran at Eon, sword high, face twisted and angry. "Die, elf scum!"

Eon dodged easily on his horse, whispered "BIND" . Earth from the ground rose up like thick ropes, wrapping the man's legs tight. He tripped, face planting hard in the dirt, sword flying from his hand.

Another guard swung at Elsa. She blocked with her dagger, but the force knocked her back from horse. The guard laughed as he stepped towards her saying. "Weak elf girl!"

Verra rode in fast, stabbed him in the side with her sword. Blood gushed out red. He screamed high, clutching his wound, twitching on the ground trying to stop the bleeding.

Liam faced two guards alone. He was young but quick. Dodged one swing, cut the first guard's leg deep. Guard yelled, knee buckling. The second guard charged, sword aiming for Liam's head. Liam rolled off his horse, sword clashing air. He came up fast, stabbed the guard in the gut. Blood spilled, guard gurgling, falling slow.

Hans was the big surprise. The old butler pulled a wand from his coat, face hard and focused. "GHSHNDIO FDUHOUIEWHNOD SUIYHD, FIREBALL!" he shouted.

A red ball of flame shot from the wand, hit a guard's chest. The man burst into flames, screaming loud as fire ate his armor and skin. Smell of burning flesh filled the air. He rolled on the grass, but it was too late. He went still, smoke rising.

The big guard, probably the captain, charged at Hans. Sword flashing fast. "Old fool! I'll cut you down for this!"

Hans dodged slow, but smartly. His Wand up. "GUOIODUEHWOIH UGHDHODH HOHDO, SHIELD!"

Blue light shimmered like a wall. The captains sword hit it, clang loud like metal on metal. Sparks flew.

He laughed mockingly. "Magic? From an old butler? Surprising sure, but still not enough for me!"

He swung again, harder. Hans blocked, but the force pushed him back a step. Captain kicked Hans in the gut. Hans gasped, bending over, wind knocked out.

Eon saw it, he rode over fast. "BLADE!"

Water from the air vapor nearby sharpened into a thin edge, slicing through the air fast. It cut the captain's arm deep. Blood sprayed like fountain, spiling everywhere. Captain yelled, dropping his sword, clutching the wound.

Hans got up, face angry now. "Thanks, boy."

Two guards were on Liam. One cut his arm, blood running red down his sleeve. Liam winced, face twisting pain, but swung back wild. Missed. The guard laughed. "Bleed, elf, bleed!"

Verra yelled, charged in. Stabbed the laughing guard in the back. Sword went through, blood bubbling out his mouth. He fell dead.

The other guard turned, face furious. "You elf bitch!"

He swung at Verra hard. She blocked, but her sword flew from her hand, clattering on the ground. He raised his blade high to finish her, face snarling.

Eon whispered "WALL" Air hardened into a solid barrier right in front of the blade. Clang! The guard's arm jarred, sword bouncing back.

Guard turned confused. "What the…"

Eon punched him hard, strength potion making his fist like rock. The guards Jaw cracked loud. His eyes rolled back, he fell like a sack.

Elsa fought a slim guard. He was fast, sword dancing like a snake. She blocked one strike, two strike, but the third cut her leg deep. Blood poured. She cried out, falling to one knee, face white with pain.

Guard grinned ugly. "Elf whore. Time to die slow."

Liam tackled him from the side. They rolled on the grass, punching and grabbing. Liam got on top, face sweaty and determined. He Stabbed down hard at the heart. Blade went in the guard's chest. Blood gurgled out. Guard went still.

Elora screamed from her horse. "Help! Guards! Kill them!"

Three guards left. They formed a tight circle around her, faces hard and ready, swords out.

Hans pointed his wand. "GHIOHOIW HUHEUDH HDOIOIHD, LIGHTINING!"

Blue bolt shot out crackling, hit one guard square in the chest. He jerked like a puppet, body shaking, smoke coming from his mouth. Fell dead instantly, twitching.

Two left. They charged as one, roaring. One at Eon, one at Hans.

Eon dodged the swing easily, his horse dancing under him. He Whispered "EARTH BULLET." Bullet made out of clay shot up from the ground sharp, through the guard's foot. Guard screamed high, bullets stuck like pins. Blood pooling from the wounds.

Eon finished him with another "BLADE." Water slice clean, his head rolling off, body slumping on the ground.

Hans fought the last one. Their Swords clashed loud, sparks flying. Hans was old but well trained. He faked a swing left, then stabbed right. Cut the guard's arm deep. Blood sprayed.

Guard cursed loud. "You old bastard!"

Swung wild. Hans ducked low, breath heavy. Stabbed his wand forward. "FDIOHW IHIDJUHWEIJ OHFIOHIOOJHIJIOSJ, FREEZE !"

Ice started at the guard's feet, spreading up fast like white frost. His legs froze solid, then his waist, his chest. Face twisted in shock and fear. "No... what is this?"

Ice reached his neck, his mouth. Before he could finish his words, he went still as statue, eyes wide open frozen.

Hans breathed heavy, wand shaking in his hand. "Done... finally."

Eon looked around the meadow. Bodies everywhere, blood soaking the grass red. Smell of iron and shit in the air. Horses snorting scared. Liam's arm bleeding bad, he pressed a cloth to it, face pale but smiling weakly. Elsa's leg cut deep, she sat on the ground, tearing her skirt for a bandage, tears in her eyes from intense pain.

Verra had a small cut on her cheek, blood trickling, but she stood tall, face fierce.

Elora sat on her horse still, face white as paper, eyes huge with terror. "Who... who are you people? Elves? But... slaves can't..."

Eon walked up slow, his face calm. "Your brothers took someone precious from us. Now we are taking you."

She Kicked her horse to run. But Eon whispered "BIND" Vines from the ground shot up, wrapping the horse's legs tight. It neighed loud, bucked.

Elora fell off hard, before she landed on the hard ground Eon grabbed her. Wind knocked out of his chest with her weight on him suddenly.

Verra ran over, she tied her hands quick with rope from a dead guard. Elora struggled, her face red. "Let me go! My brothers will kill you all! Don't you know how much they love me!"

Verra gagged her with a cloth. "Quiet now."

They rode back fast as they could. Elora tied on Verra's horse, mumbling through the gag, eyes shooting daggers. Sun setting now, sky orange. Eon felt tired but good. His first part of the Plan has worked.

After arriving at the mansion, they locked Elora in a small room upstairs, bars on window. She kicked and screamed muffled.

Eon wrote the note quick: "Bring Teressa unhurt. Or Elora dies". Simple, but it will be effective knowing the nature of those bastards. He Signed with count's crest stamp from the study.

Tied it to a pigeon from the coop. Bird flew off into the at the marquess mansions direction. It should arrive before they reach.

Now he have to prepare for the upcoming battle. As this was just a starting of something. The real battle was yet to come. When the denares brother's see this when they arrive at home, their anger will reach sky. But that's what he want's. Cause if they don't take him seriously, then they might not spare Teressa. And he needed her well and sane. Not broken and hurt from their rape or brutal torture.

Author note: Will just kidnapping their sister be enough of a bargaining chip, or does Eon have more cards up his sleeve. Be sure to read the next chapter for knowing. Sayonara ...
