Chapter 136 - Chapter- 136-Two Years Old

The garden was decorated with pastel balloons swaying gently in the breeze, tiny fairy lights woven through the branches, and a table overflowing with cupcakes, fruit bowls, and a two-tiered birthday cake covered in soft pink icing. Kiara and Kaira's second birthday felt less like a party and more like a celebration of survival;of healing, love, and the unexpected beauty that had grown in all their lives.

Kiara toddled across the grass, her curly hair bouncing with every step, while Kaira clapped along happily to the music, chocolate smeared across her cheeks like tiny battle paint. Their giggles echoed through the garden, drawing smiles from everyone present.

Lucas crouched down with a camera, trying desperately to get them to stay still for one picture. "Girls, look here! Just one;just one;no, not the cake!" he groaned as Kiara nearly toppled the dessert.

Jessica laughed softly, steadying the table. "They're two, Lucas. You're aiming for miracles."

Nearby, Ariana sat with a plate of snacks, watching the twins with a soft ache in her chest;an ache filled with warmth, not pain. "Can you believe they're already two?" she whispered to Kian, who took her hand under the table. 😮

Kian shook his head with a smile. "Feels like they were in blankets yesterday."

Then he glanced at Lucas and Jessica;at the parents who had endured storms that would have shattered most people. And yet, here they were: smiling, whole, surrounded by love.

At another table, Seya helped Kaira adjust her tiny crown while Hazon recorded a slow-motion video that made everyone laugh. "We're going to show this at their wedding someday," he joked, earning a playful smack from Seya. 😂

But beneath the laughter, something unspoken hung gently in the air;a collective realization that these children had brought healing into all their lives. Their innocence had stitched broken pieces. Their laughter had softened harsh memories. Their presence had given purpose.

As everyone gathered to sing "Happy Birthday," the twins squealed, hands flapping with excitement. Ariana glanced around;at Kian, at Lucas, at Jessica, at Seya and Hazon;and felt a slow, peaceful certainty settle inside her:

After everything they had been through,

this;this moment of simple joy;

felt like a victory.

A promise of brighter days still to come. 🤞🏻
