Chapter 50 - Chapter 49 A New Werewolf Game

Hmm... I'm a Werewolf... Is Suzuka-san a partner?

Special Week held her role card, her ears on top of her head twitching.

"Night, everyone close your eyes!" This was Air Groove, acting as the judge and narrator. It was a simple sentence, yet it somehow carried an imposing aura, didn't it?

"Werewolves, open your eyes."

Special Week, El Condor Pasa, and Gold Ship opened their eyes, and then... "Oh oh oh oh! Little Special and A-fune! Nice to meet you!" The cheerful El Condor Pasa blurted out.

"Oh, wait, I think we were supposed to keep it a secret, hehehe," El Condor Pasa scratched her head, looking at the suddenly quiet scene, and laughed awkwardly.

"No, fledgling eagle waiting to soar, you have done nothing wrong! Such an upright and passionate you are radiating unparalleled brilliance at this moment!" Opera O, who was watching from the side, timely came out to ease the awkwardness, speaking in incomprehensible words.

"However, playing like this isn't very fun, is it? Why don't we try a different way to play?" Maruzensky suggested with a smile.

Everyone was on the bus, and it would still be some time before they reached the hot spring inn. To avoid boredom and at the same time foster relationships with the younger ones, everyone had to be involved. This was Maruzensky's inner thought.

Hmm, the main purpose was to squeeze into the "young people's" conversation circle.

"A different way to play?" Rei Zai also became a little curious after Maruzensky mentioned it.

Maruzensky might be a troublemaker, but her abilities were obvious to all. Perhaps these new rules would be even more interesting?

Afterward, Maruzensky began to explain the rules.

Excluding the two Trainers, there were a total of 19 people present, divided into the classic three factions: Humans, Werewolves, and Vampires.

The numbers were 2 Vampires, 4 Werewolves, and 13 Humans.

Among the 12 Humans, there was 1 Vampire Hunter, 1 Cleric, and 4 Armed Personnel; the rest were Civilians. The Vampire Hunter is the Human's only means of combating Vampires. Each time a Vampire Hunter acts, they can identify whether a target is a Vampire, and if so, they can purify the Vampire. The Cleric takes on the role of the original Witch, able to save a person who has been turned into a Vampire, directly purify an original Vampire, or revive someone who died in the current round. Armed Personnel are the force against Werewolves. When Armed Personnel attack a Werewolf, they will directly defeat the opponent. If the target is a Civilian, the attacking personnel falls, permanently losing their Armed Personnel status. If they actively attack a Vampire, they will be forcibly assimilated into a Vampire but retain their original skills. At the same time, when attacked by a Werewolf, they can also force a one-for-one trade. The Human's goal is, naturally, to eliminate the other six non-human races.

Vampires can attack during their action round. If the target is a Human, that Human will turn into a Vampire. However, if the target is a Vampire Hunter or a Werewolf, the Vampire will be counter-killed. The Vampire's goal is to kill all Werewolves and have all remaining people join the Vampire faction. If both original Vampires are eliminated, all infected people will revert to Human status.

Werewolves are much simpler and more brutal. When they kill two Civilians or one Vampire, they will gain one immunity from death, allowing them to survive a fight with Armed Personnel. However, this immunity is universal, can only be used once, and cannot be stacked. This means that after eliminating two Civilians or one Vampire, they must find and defeat Armed Personnel, otherwise it will be wasted. Their goal is to kill all players except Werewolves.

The action order is Werewolves, Vampires, Vampire Hunters, then Clerics. Each faction can only interfere with one player per action, meaning 4 Werewolves cannot eliminate four people in one turn.

For the Vampire faction to win, they must quickly infect the Cleric to make her work for them. At the same time, they must identify the Vampire Hunter and guide the Werewolves or Armed Personnel to kill her. It is best to guide the Werewolves, otherwise, guiding the Armed Personnel means one less person to deal with the Werewolves.

For Humans to win, they must protect the Vampire Hunter and quickly eliminate the Vampires to ensure the purity of their faction, then rely on the Armed Personnel to defeat the Werewolves. The Vampire Hunter replaces the original Seer, but her role is indeed very important, as if the target is not a Vampire, then it can only be a Werewolf or a Human.

The key to Werewolf victory is to make good use of the Vampire Hunter's identity, because Werewolves, like Vampire Hunters, can kill Vampires. As long as they can trick Humans into trusting them, it is easy to gain the upper hand. Vampires are the least threatening existence for Werewolves, but leaving them to develop is also not an option, as Vampires can expand their influence. After a few rounds, even if they do kill a Vampire, it will be impossible to distinguish whether it is an original Vampire or an infected Human.

The rules are interesting, but for Rei Zai… she didn't have much hope.

Nothing much, mainly seeing the bewildered expressions of Special Week, El Condor Pasa, Taiki Shuttle, Daiwa, and Vodka at this moment, it was clear that none of them had actually listened to these rules.

In the end, they still played.

The Vampires were Rei Zai and Rudolph Symbol.

The Werewolves were Fuji Kiseki, Mejiro McQueen, Maruzensky, and Tokai Teio.

The Vampire Hunter was Special Week.

The Cleric was Grass Wonder.

The Armed Personnel were Daiwa, Vodka, El Condor Pasa, and Narita Brian.

And the others were, naturally, Civilians.

The moment Rei Zai opened her eyes and met the Emperor's gaze, the outcome of this game was sealed.

At the start, Teio self-eliminated to lure the Cleric to save her. Rei Zai, by chance, guessed correctly and infected Grass Wonder, instructing Grass Wonder not to revive Teio, directly making Werewolves -1. After that, Grass Wonder acted as a mole throughout, maintaining a constant smile, which became her best disguise.

The Emperor was not to be outdone. After the first round, she and Rei Zai, with just a look, roughly guessed the distribution of roles and began subtly guiding the game with evidence. The more sensitive Maruzensky and Fuji Kiseki seemed to discover something, but they were dealt with by the already infected Shiro Hito and El Condor Pasa.

Additionally, Representative Chiaki, as a Civilian, kept harassing Rudolph Symbol throughout the game. In the end, Rei Zai, whose desire to win outweighed her grudge, tearfully infected her into a Vampire. Until the end of the game, she endured the other's "Did you really betray me?" gaze.

After that, the Humans organized several votes, attempting to eliminate Rei Zai, who they felt was dangerous, but the already internal Grass Wonder managed to muddle through.

Oh right, Daiwa and Vodka had another argument. In the end, Vodka eliminated Daiwa, then she herself lost her Armed Personnel status and was eliminated by a Werewolf; it was truly tragic.

After that was the process of infecting Civilians. Finally, Grass Wonder was eliminated, but Fuji Kiseki was completely exposed by then and dealt with by the Armed Personnel.

"Ah ah ah ah! How can we possibly win when the President and Z-chan are on the same team!" Tokai Teio, after being eliminated, watched the entire game and was filled with frustration. She had the worst game experience this round.

"Well, such petty tricks are useless, Teio, aren't they?" Naturally, Rei Zai was quite happy after winning and teased Teio.

Although she found Rudolph annoying, she was naturally well aware of her abilities. It wasn't their first time collaborating, and their seamless teamwork throughout made Teio, watching from the side, a little envious.

"Alright, we're almost at our destination. Everyone, pack up," the Emperor chuckled lightly and began to call for everyone to tidy up their belongings.
