Chapter 7 - The Sanctuary Of The Moonborn

Keith dashed through the dense forest, the trees blurring past him as he raced forward. The moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the surrounding wilderness. He was in his werewolf form, his muscles rippling with power, and his senses heightened to a degree that surpassed human comprehension.

His eyes, a piercing shade of gold, glared with an intense desire to kill and tear apart whatever came his way. The transformation had awakened a primal hunger within him, an insatiable craving for flesh and blood. Every rustle of leaves and every distant sound triggered his predatory instincts, urging him to hunt.

As Keith sprinted through the underbrush, his sensitive nose caught a strange scent wafting through the air. It was a sickly, pungent odor, mingled with the unmistakable scent of a dog. Intrigued, he followed the smell, his powerful form gracefully maneuvering through the trees. The scent led him deeper into the forest until he stumbled upon a small clearing. There, lying on the ground, was a sickly and emaciated dog. Its fur was matted and dirty, and its body trembled with weakness. Keith's werewolf instincts told him to pounce on the helpless creature, satisfying his ravenous hunger but as he took a step forward, his heart was suddenly filled with a pang of pity.

Just as he was about to give in to his primal urges, a figure appeared out of nowhere, emerging from the shadows. It was Olivia with her mysterious aura surrounding her. Her eyes locked with Keith's and an unspoken understanding passed between them. "Stop," she commanded firmly, her voice carrying an otherworldly weight. "You shouldn't do that. It's unhealthy. You need human blood, not this, Keith. Let it go," she added.

Keith's werewolf form recoiled at the sound of her voice, momentarily stunned by her presence. The primal urges still pulsed through his veins, but her words resonated within him. He hesitated, torn between his hunger and a newfound sense of empathy.

Olivia approached the sick dog cautiously, her gentle touch soothing its trembling body. "I can see the hunger in your eyes," she said softly, turning her attention to Keith. "But there is a different way to satisfy it. Come with me."

Curiosity mingled with hunger, and Keith reluctantly followed Olivia as she led the way out of the clearing. They traversed the forest, their footsteps barely making a sound as they moved through the shadows. Eventually, they arrived at a good-looking mansion whose surroundings were adorned with statutes of mystical creatures and ancient arts—engraved on a stone at the entrance of the mansion was the name "Red Creed".

Inside, the mansion was brightly lit though the air was heavy with some sort of supernatural energy. Keith couldn't stop staring at the art. Though he was in a strange place, something about the energy in the atmosphere made it feel like a haven. "What is this place?" Where exactly are we?" Keith asked as Olivia walked him. Olivia guided Keith to a room filled with shelves upon shelves of books and somewhere around a secret door opened and they both entered. In there was just another beautiful space. It happened to be like a guest room but hidden. She motioned for him to sit on a leather armchair, and he obliged with his gaze fixed on her.

"I understand what you're going through," Olivia began, her voice gentle yet tinged with sadness. "The hunger, the power coursing through your veins but there's a way to control it, to channel it into something greater."

Keith listened intently, his curiosity piqued. The hunger still gnawed at his insides, but he was willing to entertain the possibility of an alternative. "I know you are wondering why I brought you here and I am going to explain to you Keith but first have this," Olivia said as she threw a bag of human blood at him from a drawer beside where he was standing. Keith's reflexes were quite amazing as he caught them in the air and an instant tore the bag and drank the blood without caring if it spilled on the floor. He kept drinking forgetting he was seated in front of Olivia.

A few minutes later after he had finished drinking, his mouth was stained with blood down to his chin, with blood spilled all over the floor. "I am sorry I messed the whole place up," Keith apologized, his eyes rolling all over the room like he was searching for something to clean the mess he had made.

"It's alright. I will have someone come to do that for us," Olivia smiled. Keith saw the smile on her face and was once again drawn to her. She had the cutest smile had seen and her stance was solid like she was some sort of princess with authority.

"Come, you need to change out of these worn clothes you have on," Olivia said bringing to Keith's notice the condition he was in after he had transformed back to human. She walked out of the room and took him to another room just outside the library. It was a bedroom that had almost everything- a large screen TV, a king-size bed with nice looking bedsheets spread on it, solid furniture, a standing mirror, body creams, and a built-in bathroom just at the side with a large bathtub. The aroma in the room was nice and had a floral taste to it. Keith was captivated by the room's beauty and the scenery was one to behold. At first, he thought he was probably in a royal villa but then he knew it couldn't be so. He hadn't seen anything that could ascertain Olivia was royalty. Plus, the house looked regular but just an amazing and beautiful sight.

"Keith! Keith!!" Olivia called repeatedly, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"So this is where you'll stay. This..... (showing him around) is your room," Olivia said.

"I'll leave now and be back in a few minutes. I need to find my father so you can meet him," Olivia explained.

"Wait, before you leave. Where am I?" Keith asked a question he had been wanting to get a straight answer to.

"For now, let's call it "The Sanctuary," Olivia said with a mysterious smile on her face that got Keith more puzzled about everything.

"The Sanctuary?" Olivia muttered to himself.
