Chapter 51 - Endless Rebirth, Escalating Crisis

Even separated from the body, the small section of severed Tentacle still possessed vigorous vitality and a terrifying hunger. It not only burrowed deeper into the impaled person's body but also devoured the surrounding Flesh as it moved.

In just a few breaths, it grew significantly. The efficiency with which this monster's body tissues converted food had already surpassed that of any known creature on Earth.

Zhou Yi, not daring to let the small Tentacle continue burrowing, immediately took action. This time, he didn't use Telekinesis, as he'd guessed it probably wouldn't be effective against this little thing. Instead, he used the more complex Force Field Control.

He formed a miniature, powerful Gravity Field between his fingers and pressed it against the unfortunate young man's wound. After all, the small Tentacle was a physical object, and no physical object could resist the influence of a Force Field.

Under the pull of the strong Gravity Field, the half-section of Tentacle was forcibly pulled out, and along with it came the human Flesh it had chewed and shredded. This was what Zhou Yi consciously controlled the Gravity Field to attract. He had protected the other bodily tissues with his Telekinesis, so they weren't damaged by the Gravity Field.

For the victim, it was just a missing chunk of Flesh near his shoulder and excessive bleeding. This was far better than having a monster inside his body that was constantly devouring his Flesh.

Zhou Yi's Gravity Field firmly controlled the small Tentacle, and simultaneously, he used Telekinesis to push the victim far away toward the crowd. He didn't have the time to protect an obstructing person while dealing with a monster he didn't know how to defeat.

The monster, having tasted the delicious Flesh, clearly didn't want this rare food to escape. Even though its biological instincts told it that Zhou Yi, standing before it, posed a significant danger, the instinct to feed suppressed all other thoughts. After all, it was just a collection of primitive instincts, not a being with clear thoughts. Most of the time, its instincts would dominate everything.

Another massive tentacle composed of a flesh mixture shot out. Simultaneously, the pile of flesh on the ground began to writhe, resembling rolling mud, inducing both disgust and a sense of dread.

Zhou Yi unfurled his spear. The spear, over ten feet long, struck the tentacle's head just as it sprang up. The Adamantium Alloy spearhead, twisted by Zhou Yi into a high-speed rotating spiral, tore through the tentacle's tissue with ease, shredding it to pieces. A drizzle of shredded flesh rained down in the middle of the cabin. When this scattered flesh landed, it was still moving, inching its way back towards its parent mass.

He wrapped half a small tentacle in a Repulsion Field and hurled it at the flesh mud. The deliberately controlled Repulsion Field slammed into the center of the flesh like an invisible hammer. The cabin floor boomed with the impact, and the flesh churned, sending waves of biological tissue rippling outwards. Parts of its body were crushed to powder by the Repulsion Field's force, but they quickly repaired themselves, appearing even tougher than before.

The small tentacle was swallowed and digested by the parent mass after the Repulsion Field dissipated, becoming part of its body. Clearly, this self-digestion and self-repair function was a manifestation of the collective will of the entire flesh tissue cluster.

When separated, they were individual fragments, but in the face of a larger cluster, they willingly merged, becoming part of the whole. This collectivity meant that unless they were completely annihilated from existence, they would repair themselves through this constant process of self-aggregation.

Zhou Yi didn't know what the smallest unit of this collective consciousness was. But even at its current level, it was enough to render most physical attacks ineffective. No matter how much force you used, unless you could shatter it below that smallest unit of will, it would gradually reassemble itself and recover.

Could such a creature really exist on Earth? Zhou Yi, while increasing the Repulsion Field, constantly compressed the flesh monster, preventing it from approaching. He pondered how to eliminate this thing. He finally decided to take a risk.

A ball of white flame appeared on the Adamantium Alloy spearhead, the color formed by the burning of fire at four thousand degrees Celsius. As soon as the flames appeared, waves of heat surged through the cabin. It was as if he was instantly transported into a steel furnace. Objects near the spearhead either melted into liquid like snow under the sun or were immediately incinerated to ashes by the extreme heat.

You have to know that steel's melting point is only about two thousand degrees, and this was double that.

Many places caught fire in the intense heat, and even the cabin had slightly deformed and softened. Zhou Yi deployed his Telekinesis to protect the cabin and the passengers behind him, then raised his Spear and thrust it towards the Flesh Mud.

Facing such high temperatures, the monster composed of Flesh emitted a noisy and ear-piercing sound. It was an alarm triggered by the Telekinesis of countless tissues when faced with a threat. They began to retreat, but the lack of a fixed form made the Flesh Mud far less agile than before.

In an instant, the Spear had pierced into the body of the Flesh monster.

Flames began to surge, and the scorching temperature began to burn everything around it. The monster emitted a sharp, piercing scream, a sound made by countless tissues in unison because of the pain, one after another, endless. It sounded as if someone was frantically scraping a person's nerves with a file.

Although the sound it made was extremely painful, as if it had fallen into a desperate situation, it was actually just feeling the pain. The scattered Telekinesis, although it could not be precisely and effectively controlled by it, the instinctive Telekinesis protection was enough to withstand the damage of the flames. The reason it screamed was just that it was burned by the high temperature that penetrated the Telekinesis protection.

Pain only produces two reactions for primitive conscious beings: attack or retreat. The first reaction of the Flesh monster was to attack.

A dozen thick Tentacles shot out, whipping towards the thing that had hurt it. The speed of these Tentacles all exceeded the speed of sound, so they all carried a loud whistling sound when they were swung. This whistling sound was extremely harsh, which also meant extremely deadly.

Facing the attack, Zhou Yi took the initiative. He flicked his spear, the spearhead dancing like a rain of pear blossoms, wildly scattering and overlapping like a dense array of swords. Whistling sounds emanated from his freely moving spear, indicating his attack speed was no slower than the monster's tentacles.

The spear tip struck each tentacle, and the sharp edge immediately sliced through the flesh. The remaining force of the sharp air blades didn't diminish, flying through the air and tearing open wounds on the flesh monster's body. These wounds wouldn't have any effect on it, but they would cause it pain.

In its consciousness, there was no concept of a failed attack, and the pain further stimulated its wild nature. It had fallen into a frenzy. Countless tentacles waved towards Zhou Yi. Regardless of whether it could hit the target, it only made a simple attack.

The spear continued to parry, rolling flames transforming into a brilliant stream of fire dancing on the spear tip. The spear tore through the tentacles' flesh, and the flames burned its tissues. It seemed to have the upper hand, but it didn't really make a significant difference to the situation.

Its vitality was too tenacious; this level of damage couldn't even compare to its self-repair speed. The flesh monster could only feel the pain, the pain of being torn apart and the pain of being burned. This pain made its agitation worse and worse. It desperately waved its tentacles, as if the entire cabin was filled with flesh-made tentacles.

This situation continued until a strange sound came.

That was the sound of its tentacles tearing through the cabin wall; its attacks, being aimless, had landed on the cabin wall. And Zhou Yi's Telekinesis defense field was almost nothing to the Flesh Mud with its collective telekinetic power.

The cold airflow poured in through the damaged cabin wall, and the entire plane shook slightly. Zhou Yi quickly increased his Telekinesis, preventing the cabin wall from being further damaged by the airflow's tearing. This was really bad news, but for the flesh monster, this sudden situation was good news.

The cold air lessened the burning pain, and it also made it realize that its environment wasn't just the small space around it; there was something more vast outside. Unwilling to endure the pain any longer, the collective consciousness, given a choice, immediately chose to retreat.

\n\n

A dozen Tentacles shot towards the damaged bulkhead. While breaking through Zhou Yi's Telekinesis, they also tore open a larger gap in the bulkhead. The tips of these Tentacles then firmly hooked onto the edges of the opening, and they began to pull their mother body towards the opening.

\n\n

To retreat faster, they figured out a way to accelerate their movement. Using these Tentacles, they even made their seemingly immobile mother body move with extraordinary speed, far more agile than any human.

\n\n

Watching the huge mother body desperately squeeze towards the opening, its enormous and heavy body pulling and expanding the gap to an alarming degree, Zhou Yi's heart grew increasingly anxious. He didn't even have a way to stop the Flesh monster.

\n\n

It was simply too big, so big that a certain level of Force Field would be required to prevent it from moving. In such an environment, once he used a powerful Force Field, Zhou Yi even suspected that before he could pull the monster, the entire cabin would be twisted out of shape. He thought of what happens to a Coke bottle when you suck really hard on it, and the plane wouldn't necessarily look any better.

\n\n

Trying to pull it back with his own body was even more unreliable. Not to mention the monster's huge body, just those few giant Tentacles might tear a few more holes in the plane during the struggle.

\n\n

And even if he pulled it back, what would it accomplish? The damage was already done. Continuing to fight inside was pointless, so it was better to find a new venue.

\n\n

Feeling the plane's shaking, and looking at the crowd behind him, Zhou Yi had a new idea.
