Garvey had come today because he was worried that Amelia might have somehow become involved with Allan Raymond, which could eventually expose the truth about his own supposed connection to the Raymond family.
Although he did not believe Amelia had the ability to get that close to Allan, he still thought it was better to be safe than sorry.
With that in mind, Garvey was about to say something else to warn her.
However, before he could get another word out, Amelia had already turned around and walked away.
There was no hesitation, no lingering glance and certainly no sign that she still had any affection for her ex-boyfriend.
Garvey swallowed the words he had been about to say and stood there feeling as though he had just taken a serious blow.
His expression became complicated.
Yet after standing there for a moment, he quickly composed himself.
He still firmly believed that Amelia loved him.
