''You alright?''. Togata asks again tryna to help her.
''Yeah I'm fine kid! I've taken harder beatings than that''. Seiko says.
Tick manages to escape the barrier and come near the two as Turbo Granny walks up.
''Young master! How did you get here so quick!''. Tick cries.
''Yo Ticky, that ain't important right now, take care of G-ma''. Togata replies.
''And why're ya talking like that?''. Turbo Granny asks.
''Yo catsy, catch up later''. Togata says as he turns his attention to the opponents.
Its body looks wrong, like iron stretched over old bone. Faces press faintly beneath its skin, mouths open in silent screams. Above it, the Okubi floats, enormous, eyes half-lidded, watching Togata like a moth watches a candle.
He stares deadpan. ''It's always weird shit ain't it?''.
''Careful Togata, this thing isn't a joke''. Seiko says.
The Oni looks at it's hand as the Okubi uses it's telekinesis and picks it up and places it back on the Oni as it seems to stick and stay on.
''The thing can regenerate too!?''. Turbo Granny shouts.
''Hm, it's unfortunate you got in, that weapon of yours is quite sharp isn't it, although the only reason it managed to damage me is because my body was still hot''. The Oni says.
''No it can't regenerate, it just stuck it back on''. Seiko explains. ''But Togata. I have something to ask you first, how did you know.....That I'd struggle with this guy, today of all days''.
Togata sighs. ''Can't say right now, but I'll explain later I promise''.
''Togata...!''. Seiko warns.
The Oni gets ready as it wants to attack, everyone notices.
''Leave it to me, homies, I gotcha...10x''. Togata says as he flashes towards it.
''Merge''. The Oni says.
''Togata wait!''. Seiko shouts but it's too late.
Togata is immediately in front of the Oni in the air as he slices at it's neck.
CLANK!
Togata's scythe comes to an immediate stop as the tremor rattles his hand loosening his grip.
Suddenly Togata's neck is cut as he bleeds from it. ''Ugh!''.
''From now on you attack''. The Oni says.
Then the Okubi forces him backwards with it's telekinesis smashing him into the ground.
''Young master!''. Tick shouts.
''The hell''. Togata says.
''We were gonna tell ya but you went all by yourself! That thing reflects attacks, you can't damage it''. Seiko says.
''But I didn't damage it!''. Togata says.
''You don't need to hurt me, for me to hurt you''. The Oni says as it stands there about to move but suddenly it freezes as it's body groans to a halt.
The Okubi above creates a cloud and rain falls on to the Oni cooling it's body down.
''Ya damn idiot you aimed for the young one anyway, go for the damn floating head it's the source! Go aim for the head!''. Turbo Granny shouts.
''One problem''. Togata says.
''Huh!?''. Everyone shouts.
''My power allows me to make anything I decapitate disappear....But....But that thing ain't got a neck yo''. Togata says.
''HUH!?''. Everyone shouts.
''Yeah basically....We cooked dawg''. Togata says as he de-transforms.
Tick looks at Togata's head as he sees a halo. ''Young...Young master''.
Togata touches his head as he feels it sighing. ''Dammit''.
Suddenly Death appears staring at them from just beyond the battlefield.
''Kid...What's going on!''. Seiko asks.
Togata doesn't reply he sits there stunned.
''HUH!? Hell no! Don't tell me Bone Suit Bastards here again!''. Turbo Granny shouts in fear hiding behind Seiko and looking at him.
''You...You can see him too?''. Togata asks surprised.
''Don't tell me that's who I think it is''. Seiko says worried. ''Togata!...What did you do!?''.
''I...I''. Togata stammers still staring.
''Togata...You see it don't you? Leave, leave and you will survive''. Death says with a grin.
Seiko looks at Togata frozen in fear.
''Run, don't die trying to play hero, and don't start thinking I'll bring you back again, it was a one time thing''. Death says. ''Leave, it's her time, not yours. Yours has passed''.
''Togata what the hell is he talking about''. Seiko asks.
''Don't tell me you're working with this bastard!''. Turbo Granny shouts.
Togata just stands there.
''Young master? Say something?!''. Tick says.
Seiko sighs as she gets up. ''Leave kid, run. I know what's going on, like he said it ain't your time, I'll hold him off, find a way to break the barrier. C'mon leave! And tell Momo you tried''.
Togata looks at her as she walks over to face it, lost in thought.
He takes another look at Death then Seiko, he remembers that night when she patted his head and asked if he was alright.
He inhales as he transforms again and stop Seiko, moving in front of her.
''No way G-ma, I ain't no coward, I'd slit my own throat before I let someone important to me die in front of me, head back''. Togata says.
''You sure kid? You heard him''. Seiko says.
''Yeah, I got ears''. Togata says.
Seiko laughs. ''Loving this version already''.
''Shit! Shit! Shit! I didn't avoid that bastard all this time to have him brought to me and given to him on a silver platter, I ain't dying you hear me!''. Turbo Granny shouts.
''It is not our time!''. Tick shouts.
''Like hell we are''. Seiko says.
''What's the gameplan peeps?''. Togata asks.
''That things body is resilient, I need a stronger talisman, earlier you were able to damage it when it was hot, we weaken it and you finish it any way you can''. Seiko explains as she places a giant paper down.
''Turbo Granny, Tick, I'm gonna need your help for this one''. Seiko says.
Tick and Turbo Granny take a brush in hand each as they all paint over the giant seal.
The Oni steps forward noticing what their doing. ''You won't live long enough to finish that Talisman''.
Togata exhales once.
''Alright,'' he mutters. ''I'll stall, 10x''.
He vanishes in a blur, appearing behind the Oni, scythe already swinging.
CLANG!
The sound isn't flesh being cut.It's metal struck by metal.
The blade bites, sparks fly, and the Oni's skin fractures… then pushes back, Togata goes in again kicking the Oni's arm violently but instead...
Togata's arm jerks back violently. Pain lances up his shoulder like a pulled wire. ''Tch!''. He groans in pain.
The air tightens
Invisible force slams into Togata's chest and hurls him sideways. He skids across the ground, boots carving lines through stone before he barely catches himself on one knee.
The force appears on top of him as he blocks it with his scythe as it crushes him into the ground.
Granny Seiko draws with her legs and arms on the talisman holding a brush in her mouth. ''Don't keep hitting it head-on! That body rebounds karma!''
''Yeah,'' Togata says through clenched teeth, standing again. ''Figured that out.''
He rushes again, faster this time, spiraling the scythe as he had learnt before spinning it quickly to increase the strength of a slice, aiming not for the torso but the joints.
The Oni sidesteps.
The scythe slices empty air.
The Okubi tilts its head.
Togata freezes mid-motion.
His body lifts off the ground, arms spread, suspended like a puppet.
He grits his teeth. ''You've gotta be kidding me bro''.
The Okubi pulls
His vision blurs. His chest tightens. The sound of crying souls creeps into his ears again, louder than it should be, Death is teasing him.
Granny Seiko slams runs towards him. ''Keep going! Don't mess up the Talisman! Hold on, Togata!''.
Talismans flare, briefly disrupting the telekinesis. Togata drops hard, coughing, one hand pressed to his chest.
The Oni finally turns to face him.
It steps forward.
Each footfall feels heavier than the last, it fakes an attack but instead removes the talismans placed by Seiko, it can't attack Togata but it can attack her, she manages to dodge but the Okubi attacks Togata again. The ground cracks beneath him. The pressure alone forces Togata to one knee.
A sharp tug tears through Togata's chest.
He gasps, stumbling backward, vision dimming at the edges.
Granny Seiko moves fast, faster than she looks, dragging him back as she throws up a temporary barrier that the Oni breaks through easily.
''Kid, I've got some bad news, we can beat this thing but it's gonna hurt, normal attacks don't work on it's metal body''. Seiko says.
Togata coughs. ''I'm gonna have ta become a masochist huh?''.
''Right on the money''. Seiko says.
''Then make sure you finish the Talisman G-ma''. Togata says as he stands and Seiko goes behind him working on the talisman again.
Togata jumps forward throwing his scythe at the Okubi who is forced to stop it, feigning an attack as the Oni hits him reactively causing him to fly back but the Oni takes it's own damage as well.
''You idiot! Don't hit him!''. The Okubi shouts.
The Oni stumbles from it's own attack.
Togata gets up and checks himself. ''No damage...But it hurt like hell''.
''Done, it's done!''. Seiko says.
''G-ma I have an Idea to murc this thing without attacking the head''. Togata explains.
''How?''. Seiko asks.
''I got a feeling the talisman still won't work, he's too damn resistant against it''. Togata says.
''Psh Obviously''. Turbo Granny says.
''Draw the circle''. Togata says stepping back into it summoning his scythe as he puts it to his neck.
''Young master I do not agree!''. Tick shouts.
''Ohh, Kid, I don't like that Idea, it'll hurt like hell not to mention we don't know what it could do to you''. Seiko says.
''Got any other ideas?''. Togata asks.
Seiko sighs. ''Do it, Turbo Granny, Tick''.
''Hey focus!''. The Okubi shouts. ''They want to destroy us!''.
The Oni manages to get it's bearings as it looks at them. ''De-merge!''.
The Okubi tries to but it can't it's power doesn't work it looks around to see talismans lined up around it with Tick and Turbo Granny posing.
''Heh''. Turbo Granny says.
''Take this you disgusting freak of nature!''. Tick shouts.
Death looks at Togata disapprovingly. ''Don't''.
Togata looks back with determination. ''Light it''.
''...Damn kid you're a badass''. Seiko says as she closes the circle activating the talisman as Togata is engulfed in flames and the Oni is engulfed in flames as well screaming as it burns.
Togata stands there his body not visible due to the fire as he slices his own neck and the Oni and Okubi burn to ash disappearing and everything goes dark.
