The Tower of Trials or namely the Tower of Yggdrasil appeared in the world. Since then, the world was never the same. Awakeners with strange powers, monsters that can only be seen in novels or nightmares, species new to humans and even invasion from other races appeared.
Humanity struggled with these changes at first but gradually they adapted and can now they have experts at the top level of human heirarchy. To maintain the affairs of awakeners. The National Beaureu of Awakeners is established in Silver Province.
Other countries also have their own organisations to manage awakeners and the problems brought by them. If someone awakens mana, the new technology installed in public places will detect them and see if they're registered as an awakener with NBA, if they don't, you'll be given two warnings to register as an awakener within a week.
If not, you'll be taken into custody and those with criminal records will be given no warnings. The past of criminal becoming awakeners didn't sit well exactly. So the enforcement is quite vigilant about them. Of course there are other awakeners who refused to be under goverment and formed their own guilds and organisations.

The neglegance of the Fiend Guild caused this and as a result they lost everything and we're condemned for the incident that took many lives almost wiping out one third population of the sapphire city in which the silver lake is located.
Only after thorough investigation it's found that, it's not neglegance but a pre-planned outbreak. Fiend Guild joined the demonic cult, a criminal syndicate that worships the demons of hell to get quick improvement. They are the enemies of humanity and the traitors who has the kill at sight order and huge bounty on their heads.
Andrew hated them, they tried to create chaos many times and killed many geniuses who are supposed to be the future of humanity. But these cockroaches have things that can sustain their life and also some even has the means to ressurect outside the tower with a cost of their portion of strength. Yep, you can revive in the tower but only if you're inside it and accepting a challenge. More over, you'll lose your level and attributes gained. A skill can also dropped from you along with the items gathered in your inventory.
Andrew clicked on the screen and entered the tower immediately. Like a virtual game character he is loaded into here. Andrew blinked, this felt real. They're in a open space in a jungle. Dense trees are around with distant howls and roars in the forest.
Many awakeners grew terrified of this immediately. Andrew also had some fear, but not too much. Looking at the real scenario is quite different from stories he heard. ' I guess that's what they say, one cannot truly understand anything until they saw it with their one eyes ', Andrew thought jokingly.

Andrew whistled looking at his stats. All stats are in a balance. All of them are 5, that means he is an average human without any peak stat. But what intrigued him is the talent he received.

Description : A fusion of Alchemy, Necromancy, black magic and soul magic. Collects soul fragments from the dead, can extract things from living things successfully. Trying to use this on living will have some resistance and chance to fail. With soul fragments you can upgrade items and skills into high tier. Can also use soul fragments to raise stats. Has many other functions that needs to be explored by the user. ]
Andrew's eyes widened. This talent is super useful and overpowered. Andrew also has some concern on this, because the word soul fragment raised a flag in his heart. Andrew took a deep breath and calmed down himself. Taking out the novice voucher, he ripped it off while a screen appeared again.

Just four skills. Pretty basic and has very limited growth. And they got no weapons. So they just needs to stick to rely on these skills to survive till they found themselves a weapon.
Andrew hesitated, he chose the fireball skill finally after much thought. Healing isn't for him, basic reinforcement is good and all but it only raises stats by one pointed temporarily, his talent can do it permanently. So there is no need. As for the last one Rock Fist, it's too risky to get close to monsters especially in this beginning stages where they're not different from an ordinary person.
