With the faint sound of falling rocks, the sword finally looked closely at the human.
"Why the hell is he so handsome?!" the sword said in a fury, seeing how beautiful the human in front of it was.
The sword remembered how, in its past life, people would look at it and laugh because of how ugly it was. If this human named Erick were in its former world, it was sure he would be a very famous model. Besides, what was with those muscles and beautiful eyes?
"Ugh, I hate you, system, cancel the contract!" the sword yelled without thinking.
[IMPOSSIBLE. ONCE SIGNED, THE CONTRACT CANNOT BE MODIFIED UNLESS ONE PARTY DIES]
"Are you telling me I have to endure looking at his beautiful face my whole life?" the sword cried out, looking angrily at the system.
[It is not this system's fault that your parents created you with hate]
With a shout, the sword tried to move. Although it couldn't, it tried to hit the system, which was nothing more than a floating window. It tried to do anything to vent the fury it felt.
"Oh, now I will definitely consider you my enemy, system," the sword said, staring at the system that didn't react to its petty threats.
Before continuing its games, the sword felt itself being lifted. Erick's long, firm fingers gripped its prominent pommel. Erick, without his upper clothing, looked at the sword, and the sword looked at Erick.
"Why the hell are you shirtless?! Damn it, let go of me!" the sword shouted, even though it knew Erick couldn't hear it.
Erick, looking at the sword's blade, used it to tidy his chaotic hair. Then, he grabbed it firmly, knowing what he had to do next.
"I'll report you for sword abuse," the sword said, only to continue being ignored.
Erick closed his eyes, pointed the sword forward, and swung it down.
*Zas!*
The cut ripped through the air, leaving a small trail of energy.
It was then that Erick realized this was no ordinary sword, but one of great quality, perhaps even divine. After all, he was not an energy user to be able to leave that trail; as far as he knew, only swords of great power could leave that mark without needing to be charged with that same energy.
"You are a very beautiful sword," Erick said, smiling.
"Ahhh, I am beautiful!" the sword said with a look of dread.
[Master-Sword synergy obtained. Open menu to view]
"Wait! What do you mean synergy? That means Erick and I are connected," the sword said with great surprise.
[The user is reminded that they are a sword and Erick is a human, so the relationship is that of tool and master]
With a sharp silence, the sword could do nothing but stare at the screen. It was true, it was a sword. No, more importantly: why was it getting excited earlier?
"System, open the menu… and forget what I said before," the sword requested.
[Opening menu and not forgetting what was said before]
"Forget it, you bastard!" the sword yelled, only to be surprised by the menu showing its status:
Name: ?
Age: ?
Titles: Cursed Sword; World Destroyer Sword
Quality: Divine
Blade: Divine
Attributes: Divine
Energy: Divine
Current User: Erick Kallpa Sunqu
Synergy: Grade9
"Wait! I'm incredible! System, is there anything superior to Divine?" the sword asked the system.
[No results]
"Does 'No results' mean there's nothing superior, or 'No results' means you don't know?" the sword asked.
[.]
Looking at its status again, the sword couldn't help but smile, before looking up and being surprised by the titles it had.
"What do you mean 'Cursed Sword' and I don't plan on destroying the world?" the sword said, looking at the system that didn't reply.
*Zas!*
With one last slash, Erick finished training with the sword. His wounds had already healed. A month had passed since he fell into that cave, but he had found a legendary sword, so he didn't consider it a failure. With that sword in hand, Erick prepared to begin his legend.
Erick looked at the sword, wondering how it had healed him, but shrugging, he thought it was a divine grace, something that illuminated his path toward vengeance.
Climbing a slope alongside his new sword, as a gentle breeze ran over them, he couldn't help but feel anger towards those who had betrayed him.
Just before finishing the ascent, a heavy gaze settled upon Erick and his sword. He instantly turned his head, but felt nothing. It was then that a giant golem attacked him from above.
The blow was fast, a fist the size of an ice cube impacting the rock. Erick reacted instinctively, rolling to the side as the impact pulverized the stone where he had been standing a second before.
The creature, a monstrosity of rock and moss, growled, turning its back to the sun to shield its eyes.
Erick drew back the arm holding the sword with the precision of an archer drawing a string. His mind, previously exhausted and confused, now felt clear and cold. The Synergy with the sword imbued him with a strange lucidity.
The Servant raised its stone arm for a second blow. Before it fell, Erick propelled himself forward, using a rock as a lever. His target was not the joint, but the monster's blind spot.
With a battle cry, Erick rotated his body and launched an upward cut. Arthur's blade impacted directly on the Servant's left leg.
*SHRIIINK*
The sound was not of metal hitting rock, but of a hot blade slicing butter. The cut, which should have bounced off, tore through the creature's thick skin as if it didn't exist, leaving a deep gash from which a thick, grayish liquid oozed.
The Stone Servant staggered, its injured leg unable to support its weight. It fell with a crash, its rocky body cracking against the hillside.
Erick seized the moment. He lunged towards the beast's neck, where a vein of moss glowed with a fainter light. With a swift, decisive motion, he plunged the sword up to the hilt.
A strangled roar came from the golem as it slowly crumbled, its fragments of stone and moss dispersing on the ground. A dense, dusty silence fell over the hillside.
Erick took a deep breath, the sword still in his hands. His heart was pounding, but a sense of power and control coursed through his body. He looked at the blade—impeccable, without a single nick or stain from the fight.
"This was, without a doubt, a divine sword," Erick murmured.
[Master-Sword synergy increased to level 8]
