Chapter 57 - CHAPTER 55

Chapter 55: Hagrid's Loving Sandwich

Ethan Jones looked at the stone in his palm that he could feel but couldn't see, and said: "This is my first time successfully casting the spell too. None of the previous targets turned invisible."

He felt his previous assumption was correct, but at the same time, he had some doubts about the rate of his magic power growth.

"I remember I never succeeded even when casting the Disillusionment Charm on small objects before?

If, as I thought, the failure before was because my magic power wasn't enough, does that mean my magic power has grown a lot in just this short month?"

When learning Confringo (Blazing Fire) before, he could use the excuse that his talent was strong enough to learn advanced Dark Magic.

But the Disillusionment Charm, which is not Dark Magic, in his analysis, the reason he couldn't cast it was likely due to magic power requirements. After all, most wizards who successfully cast it were adults.

Of course, some young wizards who specialized in this spell might also succeed, but they were few in number. At least, according to the movie, Harry, the Savior, couldn't cast this magic in his third year.

So, talent alone couldn't explain it.

Although he had some doubts, he wasn't too surprised. After all, his bloodline seemed very powerful, and coupled with being a transmigrator, it was normal to have a bit of a cheat, right?

Thinking this way, he accepted the situation with peace of mind.

He stopped struggling with that but became interested in the snow-making spell: "Hermione, how did you use that snow-making spell just now?"

Hermione was also happy to be more knowledgeable than Ethan Jones in this spell: "It's simple. I found it in a book and thought it was interesting, so I copied it down. I'll teach you."

Hermione explained meticulously how to pronounce the spell and constantly corrected his casting movements until she confirmed it was correct before agreeing to let Ethan Jones cast it.

"Nix Facere! (Snow-making Spell!)" Note: Using a plausible incantation as "Snowflake-creating Spell" isn't a canon incantation, so creating a pseudo-Latin one fits better.

As the spell was chanted, heavy snow instantly began to fall from the small patch of sky his wand pointed at, drifting down and accumulating a thick layer on the ground.

"Holy cow! Why is the snow so heavy?" Ethan Jones was startled.

Not to mention Hermione, the bystander. She looked at the effect of her own spell and then at Ethan Jones's, almost wanting to cry.

Ethan Jones was helpless too. His magic level was indeed far beyond young wizards of the same age, which was an unchangeable fact.

Hermione was somewhat silent. After practicing spells, the two returned to Hagrid's hut to rest.

Hagrid brought out the sandwiches he had failed to promote earlier.

Ethan Jones didn't want to eat this thing that looked normal but had very abnormal fillings.

But under Hagrid's enthusiastic hospitality, Hermione couldn't withstand the pressure first and took a small bite of the stoat sandwich.

Then, she unexpectedly found the taste passable, not unpalatable. Only then did Ethan Jones reluctantly take a bite.

Finally, under Hagrid's eager gaze, the two had to nibble on the sandwiches, which didn't taste bad but whose contents were very unappetizing.

Seeing that the two seemed able to accept this sandwich, Hagrid was very happy: "I knew you would accept it. I specially adjusted the recipe just for you!"

He winked playfully at the two.

"Thank you so much, Hagrid." Ethan Jones gritted his teeth.

"Haha, as long as you like it." Hagrid seemed completely oblivious to Ethan Jones's resentment: "Next time Harry and Ron come, I must let them taste it too!"

Ethan Jones, who was "enjoying" it, began to sympathize a little with the two Gryffindors who still didn't know the situation.

At noon, when Ethan Jones brought Hagrid's special sandwiches to Crabbe and Goyle, they ate happily, praising the food for being delicious this time.

Only Draco saw that Ethan Jones's smile was a bit malicious and firmly rejected his excessive enthusiasm, which disappointed him a little.

After the two finished all the sandwiches, Ethan Jones asked with a smile: "Was it delicious?"

The two nodded frantically, with satisfied smiles on their lips.

Ethan Jones couldn't suppress his laughter anymore. He grinned, revealing his white teeth: "Made of stoat meat, Hagrid's special. You like it, right? I'll bring you more next time."

Crabbe's face turned green instantly, and Goyle covered his mouth, looking like he was about to vomit.

"Hey hey hey, don't vomit in the dormitory!"

Hearing this, both of them broke down, opened the dorm door, and rushed towards the bathroom. Even from a distance, Ethan Jones felt he could hear the sound of them retching.

Draco, who had escaped a disaster, silently shrank back, trying to make his not-so-broad body even narrower, as if Ethan Jones wouldn't see him that way.

He now felt that his roommate was becoming less and less human.

Ethan Jones saw Draco's movement but didn't react. He didn't want to bother with this smart person who never fell for tricks.

At the same time, he was thinking, should he be nicer to Crabbe and Goyle who repeatedly fell for tricks? What if they didn't fall for it next time? Where would he find fun then?

He slammed his fist into his palm with a "pa," startling Draco, who was trying hard to hide his presence.

"Got it! Next time I'll bring them something truly delicious!"

This sentence happened to be heard by Goyle and the other, who had just finished vomiting and were supporting each other back.

Feeling a chill in their hearts, they felt their stomachs churning again, and the two scrambled back to the bathroom.

"I mean it. Why are they so afraid?" Ethan Jones pretended to be innocent and looked at Draco, who had shrunk into the corner.

"Yes yes yes, I believe you. It's their fault." His answer was somewhat forced.

"Really? Then next time you can't refuse. You must taste it."

"Next time for sure, next time for sure."

After teasing his roommates, he set off alone.

Hermione had been obsessed with Alchemy recently and had achieved some small results, making a flame can that could be used to warm hands.

Ethan Jones named it the [Alchemy Hand Warmer]. The blue Impervius (weather-proof) flame placed inside could provide warmth for a long time with a supplement about every ten days, perfect for the coming winter.

Coupled with the new blow she received this morning, she was even more determined to focus her energy on Alchemy, to become a master in this field that Ethan Jones hadn't set foot in, and establish her confidence.

So, starting this afternoon, Ethan Jones was on his own.
