NOW TO THE STORY

I had always been moving, running, from something. We had moved from house to house, town to town. No one ever told me why we had to move. I was probably too young back then to understand, anyway. There were a few things they did tell me, such as the fact they had adopted me. They didn't know who my parents were but would help me find them if I wanted to. I had to wait till I was 18, but that didn't matter...

Even after the incident when I was nine, I still kept moving. Still kept running. A part of me was curious about what happened that night, but I learned that curiosity killed the cat. Not that that meant anything to me. People say I should be scared of what can harm me, but I'm not. I was always different, and this was just another thing to add to the list.

After years of moving, I finally settled down in the middle of New York City, but that didn't mean I wasn't still running. Running away from many things, I didn't even know half of them till recently. I could never have comprehended most of them if I hadn't seen them with my own eyes. My life has changed a lot in the past few months, but I am still running...
