By relying on spending every day at his desk doing nothing but admiring Saphen, Cain's grades truly ranked dead last in the class.
Fortunately, the teacher still hadn't changed the seating arrangement, but even so, Cain could sense an extremely serious threat. Especially since Benjamin kept hovering around them, which was really infuriating. What made it worse was that Saphen and Benjamin could actually chat with each other, talking about all sorts of things under the sun that Cain couldn't understand at all.
Cain was furious. Things reached a breaking point in second grade, when Benjamin actually dared to talk to the homeroom teacher, saying that he wanted to sit with Saphen because the two of them could help each other improve, while Cain was nothing but an obstacle.
As for how Cain heard all this, it was simply because he had just gotten into a fight and was dragged to the office at the same time.
