Outside the experimental building, which had long been silent, a patch of fire suddenly appeared, something that had never existed before. The flames were fierce and stretched nearly three meters long. A horizontal iron bar was suspended above it, and at that moment Vorthax was draped across the bar, spinning himself as if roasting a duck.
With his movements, the flames licked over his body and even his hair, yet they did not ignite. They merely heated the outer layer of his "skin."
Vorthax suddenly jumped up, touching himself to check the temperature. Immediately after, his tentacles shot forward, dragging his body as he sped away. A few tentacles even took the time to extinguish the flames behind him before quickly whipping after him.
In the darkness, Vorthax swiftly appeared at the door to Saphen's room. He entered slowly and carefully climbed onto the bed.
Saphen jolted awake, drowsily glancing at Vorthax.
