Saphen looked around the room. SX-520 had no idea where it had been transferred to. Only Vorthax remained. He walked up to the tank and smiled slightly. "Hello."
Vorthax froze. The heart that did not exist within him seemed to pound wildly against the glass.
Every time it was like this. Clearly, he had tried his best to restrain himself, yet every time Saphen said "hello," it felt as though he were inviting he closer.
Vorthax wanted to approach Saphen even more, but he did not dare. He was afraid of frightening Saphen, afraid Saphen would fall ill again, and afraid Saphen would cry in pain.
He had also begun to fear that if Saphen discovered the truth, Saphen would look at him with disgust. That could not be allowed. That absolutely could not happen.
So Vorthax started thinking of ways to push all the blame onto Oris, or someone else. When the time came, he would play the hero, save the beauty, deal with the villain, and Saphen would like him even more.
