Cain lifted Saphen up. Saphen wrapped his arms tightly around Cain's neck, his entire face resting in the hollow of Cain's shoulder.
Cain set Saphen down on the chair and was about to go cook, but when he stepped outside, Saphen was already drowsy, on the verge of falling asleep.
Cain clenched his fist, choking until he could hardly breathe.
While Saphen was drifting in and out of consciousness, his whole body was suddenly scooped up, and they went into the bedroom.
Saphen lay on the bed. He tilted his head and opened his eyes wide to look at Cain. Cain was also looking at him, the corners of his eyes flushed red, bloodshot veins spreading through his gaze.
Saphen suddenly raised his hand and gently pulled up the corners of Cain's mouth. Smiling, he said, "You look much more handsome when you smile."
Cain smiled back. He held Saphen's hand and said softly, "Saphen, will you marry me?"
