Xavier felt the air around him thicken as the name echoed inside the palace.
KAIZEL
The last Demon hero.
A name drenched in blood, war and fear.
Goddess Diana slowly stepped forward, her expression darkening as if even speaking about him brought back memories she'd rather forget.
Listen well, human," she said quietly. "This is the monster you must face one day".
Xavier swallowed hard staying silent.
Diana lifted her hand and the world around them shifted like a story unfolding on a massive screen of swirling mana.
A battlefield appeared.... And at the centre of it....
A young man stood over a corpse, his eyes glowing in mad ecstasy. In his hands, the body of his dead lover, the elven Hero, Luciana.
She was killed by another hero, said Diana. And as for the reason why, it's a long story.
KAIZEL in his anger used his divine ability to absorb her body. Gaining an epiphany by mistake, at that moment he found out that he could absorb the divine abilities of heroes and grow stronger.
The man once famed as the demon race greatest prodigy, hailed as their champion.... a hero blessed to defend his people.
Atlas he could not protect the only person that actually matters to him.
He sought of ways to bring her back to life even going as far as diving into forbidden arts. It was there that he found out that how to attain godhood. He had to devour the Divine abilities of a hundred heroes.
In his quest for strength, KAIZEL devoured the divine abilities of his fellow heroes one by one.
Another vision flashed, KAIZEL standing atop a mountain of corpses – orcs, giants, beast. All sorts of races and in the numbers. He kept massacring anyone who stood in his way. As for what his motive was, no-one knew. It was said that he wanted to become a god to revive his lover, but as for his true motive. Well, only KAIZEL himself knows that.
And his own race....., Xavier asked, though he already had a guess in mind.
They tried to stop him but he slaughtered them all,'. Diana' closed her eyes.
An entire civilization wiped out. It was brutal.
She said without emotion, not exaggerating it one bit. Just cold fact.
He eliminated anyone that could possibly stand in his way, infants, elders, warriors. The shadows behind him grew thicker, twisting into demonic shapes as he devoured more and more heroes.
His body twisted in the illusion- horns sprouting, wings darkening and his flesh turning into something unrecognisable. A devil. A monster. Something no longer bound by mortality.
Heroes, kings, entire armies united against him, Diana said with a faint laughter. Dragons, elves, dwarves, vampires, everyone.
But sadly united or not....
She snapped her fingers and the vision changed.
An alliance of armies stood before KAIZEL.... Millions and millions of Powerful beings.
He massacred them alone. Every race strongest warrior fell. Kingdoms crumbled. Tribes vanished and temples burned.
"Each generation of heroes I sent were wiped out". No one could defeat him.
Xavier felt his heart drop.
So far he has slain ninety six heroes. Only four more and he will attain godhood. Her tone made the air feel colder.
Saying that she looked into my eyes, "and when that happens, life as you know it should as well come to an end.
Xavier's jaw tightened. "Then why couldn't you stop him", you said it yourself, you're a goddess right.
Diana's expression hardened. She suddenly stared up into the sky of the hall, as if speaking to an invisible presence. I couldn't interfere, not directly at least....because the universe stopped me, she sighed.
Xavier blinked, "the universe? Why? He was practically destroying everything and everyone in existence.
"The universe is not a person and so it doesn't have emotions , said Diana firmly. It doesn't think in terms of good or evil, hero or villain. It only knows one thing...
She raised her hand and a scale of comic light appeared.
